Eh, tell them to pipe down. There's 168 hours in a week. If you actively work out for 6 hours hours a week, that's less than 5% of your time. IMHO, that's not excessive and heaps better than sitting in front of the TV for 20% of the week like most lazy folks will do! You go on with your bad self. How much you exercise does…

Clothes for me! Or some sort of spa treatment, a massage usually. Feel like a new woman after that. It's a treat because I can't normally justify spending that much on myself, even though I tend to just get them through Groupon anyway. Once I've hit goal weight (8lbs to go!) I'm planning on taking myself off somewhere I've…

All of this. My husband is the same - apart from he loves food, but his metabolism is crazy fast and he has to eat around 3500 cals a day to maintain. So I cook in bulk and I'll have one portion and he can go back for 3rd or 4th helpings. Usually things that we can serve with rice, noodles or potatoes and bulk out with…

^You're an idiot.^ OP - seek help. Get a second or third opinion. The NHS has a vast array of helpful and unhelpful people. Just work your way through until you see a helpful one. You'll find one, I promise. An eating disorder has a million shades of grey in it and what you have described is definitely NOT a healthy way of…

In my experience - this is completely normal. I also don't feel hungry after a work-out. I can probably go about 5-7 hours without eating after a workout (I try not to, it's probably not too good for you). But I will just eat something small then try and make it up later. I also agree that the less you eat, the less your…

My husband has severe asthma and weakened lungs so started taking 4 garlic supplements a day at the start of the year in order to help with respiratory function. He says it's definitely feeling a lot better and he's managed not to have a chest infection for about 10 months now (considering he was getting pneumonia once a…

Truly a majestic beer. Also their Smoking Gunn. My local will only serve it in half pints because it's so strong but so tasty it gets you drunk too quickly! Also, Wells and Young Banana Bread beer. Plus every dark, stout I've ever had from a micro-brewery.

But then they'll tell you salt is the devil and must be avoided. Having seen a bunch of them in the past, I will tell you that most of them (or at least, the 5 I have come across) are completely and utterly on bandwagons for whatever current food fashion is en vogue. One once told me to cut out all sugar, including…

Yep - agree with this! Bulk out your fajita with capsicum/bell peppers. A red, a green and a yellow one will bulk the meal right out and you get way more bang for your buck. Plus SO COLOURFUL and it shakes up the texture too. Mmm...now I want fajitas....

Sounds like you're pear-shaped, my friend. Me too. Even when I was at a sickeningly low weight, my legs were large (in proportion to my bony upper half). I've found that the stepper, elliptical and leg press keeps them more streamlined and the cellulite at bay. Also, go on with the dresses and skirts - if you stick to the…

May just have to try this. Great idea. I know you can do it with Brussels sprouts, but the idea of separating all the leaves one by one before baking makes me die a bit inside.

Get it re-calibrated and bobs your uncle. Put something on it that you know exactly how much it weights already to check. You might find that a clock/watch maker will be able to re-calibrate it, if it's a little bit off. It looks awesome and, lets face, was built to last.

Hmm, I think it depends on the product. Always compare the "low-fat" option to the normal option. A lot of the time, for the sake of 20 calories or 0.2g of fat, they are the same apart from the low-fat option is pumped full of nasty's to make it more palatable (see, low-fat custard!) Have a watch of this documentary (well,…

Agreed - I'm a firm believer that processed sugar isn't the best for you. But I'm also fairly confident that in the 18th century, those sailors weren't eating Haribo or other "processed" sugar that we see today. More likely, it was as unrefined (aside from being actual sugar cane) as it could possible be gotten. 9 days on…

So...the rum had no impact on them whatsoever? Cool, I'm off to get a couple litres of Sailor Jerry, seeing as how it's basically Slim Fast.... :noway: Honestly - added sugar is, IMHO, all about palate and flavour. I'd also be tempted to add - fairly sure that the CEO of ADM and the CEO of Glucophage play golf together.…

Wait...what. Need this in my life, despite swearing off flaming hot cheetos after an over indulgence made me think I had bowel cancer the day after  But that's basically like my 3 favourite food groups. Crisps, cheese and bacon.

I was sick last week and I did log, but I gave myself a little more leeway and I was sat in front of a computer all day due to work deadlines I couldn't really stay home. Sometimes illness makes you lose your appetite, sometimes you could eat the very table top off. I wanted to eat the very table top off last week! I just…

Find out what works for you - for me I do work out first thing in a morning on an empty stomach, but more because I have slow digestion and I refuse to spend the hour workout wanting to vomit it all back up. Although to be honest, I have felt like it's been beneficial to my weight loss, although that could all be in my…

Both! Do one of each, each week. I LOVE Combat in particular though, it's brilliant fun, burns a helluva lot calories and gets you pretty fit. I haven't done it in ages though, everyone around my city seems to be all about the Zumba these days.

Figs/dates/prunes - dried or fresh. Also, pears when slightly overripe seem to really have a lot of fibre going on.

We met in Singapore 3 years ago - I was on my way out of the UK to Australia and he was on his way out of Australia to backpack South East Asia. We were staying in the same 12 bed hostel in Chinatown and a bunch of us went out for beers and food. I left Singapore the next day and went on to Australia. Funny thing is, I…

It's hard when people are so negative. But honestly...channel the anger and upset into getting to the gym and continuing with your bad self :) If your family are living in the Phillipines and you're in USA - well, that's enough distance. Channel it, lose the weight then imagine the looks on their faces when you go to…

Definitely see your doctor and maybe ask for a referral to another psych. Or maybe try a more holistic approach if it's really not working out for you. Without wanting to sound hippy-dippy, I've found that aromatherapy and massage work a lot for me in terms of relaxation and self-acceptance. Going into a calm head space…

Real ale. I love it, but it ends up not being worth the calories and once I'm on it I can easily burn my way through 3000 calories for the sake of 6 pints. (I'm a female, honestly!) plus whatever food I decide to eat in the old man pub I've found myself in. Lager, wine, cider and spirits I can say no to after 2 drinks and…

I had the exact same symptoms last week. Decided to go to the gym anyway as it was the start of the week. Worst idea, ever. I managed 9 minutes on the elliptical then nearly vomited and passed out because raising my heart rate gave me such a high temperature. Look after yourself. Get better first. It's ok.

Tell her to get to flip. The main thing you need right now is a good insulation of body fat, which is lacking (but kudos for gaining those 12lbs girl! Total respect). Everything else will follow. Your body needs a decent body fat percentage in order to absorb nutrients anyway. Eating nutrient dense food along with the high…

I LOVE Yogi classic tea - it's basically ginger, cinnamon, cloves etc. Really spicy but oh so good on a rainy day. Also, when I decide I want mulled wine, this is a good alternative for winter.
