  • Good luck, and good plan. Did you add in some whole wheat carbs? I think some other posts are right: you need to ride it out. It is withdrawal.
  • Also, not to judge, but more than one person said they throw out a bunch of food. Why? There are so many starving people in this world, and doesn't that waste money? Maybe I just don't have a big food budget.
  • No, I get that. Thank you for wiping the equipment! It is just my MRSA flairs up from time to time due to in-grown hair, slight irritation, etc. Showering my icky sweat off helps (plus the doctor told me to.) Otherwise, it is month of antibiotics, stomach troubles (have those already) and someone poking at my skin with a…
  • No, no, no. I got MRSA from the gym when I was 19 (in college.) I was a healthy person, and I got it because someone didn't wipe off gym equipment. I have to shower right after the gym and throw all my clothes in the wash. But I do sweat buckets during each session. Lovely family trait.
  • I totally get this. I think my undiagnosed SAD has a huge effect on my fitness throughout the year. I really hate it. I think this winter is going to be bad, too. My problem is, I work nights! I am lucky that I start at 4 p.m. right now, so I get in at the end of daylight (if there is any.) It is really hard on me, because…
  • I am an editor on Elance but still relatively new. $1/hour is way too high on that site, unless you are very experienced. I charge $8.50 per hour for my editing skills, because I am new, or $.03 to $.05 per word. But since you are a writer, it takes a lot more effort. How much research are you going to do? How long would…
  • For the cramping, it is possible you are low on potassium! Try eating bananas. Also, my doctor told me to drink tonic water. It is a bit nasty, but whatever is in it helps with cramping. (She tells her elderly patients to try it.) That greatly reduced my cramping. As far as shins, I have been having problems, too. I know…
  • Tri to Help in Towson, MD. http://www.tritohelp.org/eventdetailsmd.html Good luck!
  • THIS. And water. lots of water.
  • Ok, thank you! I think I was doing isolates, not compounds. (I was doing arms, legs, rest, arms, legs, rest, rest.) I will have to give this a try in a week or two! Thank you!
  • I don't know lifting lingo. I'm a little embarrassed to ask this, but can you give me an example? I tried to Google it, but I don't know what a lift split is, or what 5x5 would be. Thanks. *blush*
  • I have definitely asked stupid questions before. But it is people like this, if the OP is really a troll, that damages the integrity of being able to ask the stupid questions if you don't have the knowledge. I got a few nasty comments or two in previous posts. Plus, I think a person should be required to fill out their…
  • Thanks! It is a silly day for me, too. I blame my awesome snack for giving me a little pep. lol
  • I'm running my first half on April 28 in DC (Nike Women's). I would LOVE new runner friends! ADD, ADD!
  • It's a TROLL! *ducks and hides*
  • Thank you, all. I only gave a range because I don't remember what my HRM and the treadmill said this morning. I was too worried about getting to work on time! lol
  • Thank you, everyone! I eat a variety of things, though I do need some more whole foods.
  • I figured since we were all here, talking about the same stuff, why not just ask. I didn't realize there were people policing this stuff! :noway:
  • Here is where I am confused for me. My stats: 26, female, 5'4", 160 lbs, goal weight of 130lbs H-B formula: 1530 calories K-M formula: 1470 calories But what activity level? I work out 5-6 days a week for 60 minutes, and I do it vigorously. BUT my day job is sitting at a desk, getting up only for the bathroom/to grab print…
  • I just learned that the YMCA in downtown York has an indoor track. There is a staircase near the front desk and apparently it leads to a track. I haven't gone up there yet. But I do have a Y membership.
  • Wonderful advice from everyone! I tried it a few times, too, and it took me at least two years, off and on, to finally complete it. Just keep working at it. If you have to repeat a day or a week, that is OK. Also, don't go too fast and watch your breathing! I get cold-induced running asthma and I thought it was just me.…
  • Thanks. I only consider logging it as exercise because it is quite strenuous! In the summer I sweat out buckets. When I first did it last year, my body hurt so bad each week. My one coworker laughed because after my first day last year, I had to PUSH myself off my desk just to stand up! lol. And because of my work…
  • Agree! I love gardein much more.
  • For mine, just make traditional mashed potatoes (or get a bag of steam and mash.) add a bit of soy milk and Earth Balance. Maybe mash chickpeas beforehand (with a potato masher.) Meanwhile, add washed kale to a bit of heated olive oil. Let it crisp for about 5 minutes (it doesn't wilt like spinach.) Add to mashed potatoes…
  • I have been running for almost four years and I still can't run a full 5K, because I fell off and on the saddle. I suggest trying Couch to 5K, and if you have to repeat a week or an exercise, DO IT! I did! I am now finally conquering (I hope) week 6 day 3, which is 2.25 miles straight. Also, yes to music. It is the only…
  • I forgot to mention, feel free to add me as a friend! I love seeing people's diaries and how they get in the nutrients they need as vegans!

  • My breasts. I have always envied girls with bigger ones. I am a 36A and I have shoulders like a linebacker. The only time I do not envy is exercising (they don't bounce around) and wearing a bathing suit because those babies aren't slipping out of anywhere and I have to wear a size small top! Also, I have issues with my…
  • I feel like the OP is/was a troll. Obviously we all know that eating below 1200 calories constantly is never a good thing, if we can control it. So why ask that on this forum? And hagamivida, I am so sorry about your thyroid. And you aren't the only fat vegetarian. I'm a fat vegan!
  • Hello! I have been vegan for about 3 years. It started as an experiment to help my IBS. It kind of helped but I ate crappy food and slowly gained 10 pounds in the past year. Vegan food is soo good! Now I am eating better. Lately I have questioning how "easy" it is to not be vegan. But I don't think I can go back. I am…
