Finding other things besides weight is a big part of it for me. Goals related to clothing sizes, ability to engage in activity, times for an activity/distance, measurements, and setting little healthy rewards like a daytrip to a park or trying a new activity can help to keep the momentum and also support your weight goals…

Honestly getting to the bottom of the cause may be the only way to avoid similar backslides in the future. For me stress and binging can go hand in hand, but moreso it becomes a problem when I am very depressed. Best of luck - feel free to add me if you'd like.

We have a lot of intermittent fasters on here. We also have a group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/49-intermittent-fasting I do 20/4 most days and love it. Last time I lost weight I dropped 100 lbs with intermittent fasting. It is a very good way to make the most out of a limited amount of calories while still…

I hear you there. My first month back on track I've dropped 20 lbs. By no means is it unreasonable, especially over the first couple weeks. But if it tapers off to your expected loss over the next month or so based on the deficit you're not doing anything wrong :)

Keep an eye out for those blood test results. I was having hair loss when my iron and b vitamin levels were too low, and it has stopped since getting them up again. I also have shedding "seasons" in spring and fall when I will have more hair fall, which I notice only because I have very long hair and it adds up quickly in…

I've been getting extremely high numbers from my Garmin Vivoactive HR+ for a pretty paltry amount of steps. I'm going to try updating my activity setting and seeing if that makes a difference.

Just passed my 1,250 day streak. I log in every single day, even if I didn't log my food (which I didn't for a long time when I was regaining and was part of the problem! :( ), but am back in the habit again for last 4 wks.

This is a really low tech solution, but sometimes I'll stick a cotton ball in my belly button during my workout XD When I cycle a lot sometimes my belly button will get irritated. The cotton ball keeps things from getting too sweaty, and applying ointment after thoroughly drying after my shower keeps everything at bay.

Because ultimately you're eating at a deficit, hence you are taking in less ENERGY than you need, which results in the body utilizing fat stores for fuel once it has exhausted the energy from the food you are digesting. My diet has been crappy choices wise more often than not over the past month and I've lost plenty. Guess…

Sure I'll play.

I try to limit eating out at places that don't publish nutrition guides, make my best guess to log it, leave myself some calorie wiggle room, and move on to the next day. All in all it's going to be a drop in the bucket in the long term, but only if it is occasional. If this is happening multiple times per week those…

Sometimes this happens to me, maybe not 1000 calories under, but still a significant margin. I try not to overthink it - one day out of many won't make much of an impact. One of my goals is to stop eating when I'm full. You'll probably feel a bit hungrier tomorrow. The reality is this won't be sustainable if it starts…

I prefer moderate fat cottage cheese, full fat greek, moderate % milk, full fat regular cheese and ice cream, regular butter, and lean meats. I tend to use yogurt based dressings for salads. I don't put much stock in low fat processed items. They often put in sugar and other unnecessary ingredients to round out the taste…

Honestly the best thing I've found to kick a chocolate craving is to budget in a serving of high % cocoa dark chocolate. I get mine at Aldi in 5 packs for $1.99 - each bar is 170 cals or so and they have others in flavors like mint and chili, slightly lower cocoa %, for about 150 cals. I find even a half a bar can kick a…

I like campfires, but I don't like starting them. I know how and can do so, but I was burned badly as a kid and am pretty avoidant of activities that can burn me again.

My first big goal weight will put me at about 115 lbs down. I am down 25 so far. Feel free to add me.

It's too low for me, but I am 6' tall and presently 270. Many people find it hard to stick to 1200 on a long term basis. It might be what is recommended for fastest loss based on your height/weight/goals, but it's not always about getting to the goal as fast as possible! If you feel tired and hungry all the time, that's a…

I find when I change my goal loss or update my weight it takes a refresh to actually update my calorie goals sometimes.

It happens, and its OK! You're here and have goals in mind. The most important thing is to just keep going. Every day will have it's own challenges. The scale might not always go down. Ultimately if you're eating less than you're expending each day, you will lose eventually!

Yep, I lost 100 lbs on it my last round of weight loss with IF, and have lost 25 this time so far. I eat about 20/4 each day. It helps me feel more satisfied from a limited amount of calories, and I make better decisions when I am eating at home and not trying to eat on the road, as I spend my whole day driving and…

I won't speak much on the gluten thing as a lot has already been said. I think a lot of comparisons can be made to lactose intolerance in that some peoples' bodies can handle it better than others, and it all exists on a spectrum. If someone feels better not eating gluten I couldn't care less how they choose to eat. I…

It's ok to take a multi if your body needs it. The only way to know if you have a deficiency is with testing. I take a multi to keep up my iron, magnesium, B vitamins and calcium/Vit D as recommended by my MD based on my baseline levels and years of ongoing annual blood tests and seeing improvement in my levels with a…

I had my gallbladder removed in 2010 and lost 100 lbs in the following years. If anything, the impetus to keep my animal fat intake down really helped!

I find that when I tell myself I can skip on logging the truth of those off days, it is the beginning of a slippery slope to regain. I mean if it's not worth being honest, what's the point? Good for you!

The coping skills we learn/practice from an early age impact our stress responses well in to our lives. I have a tendency to overeat and oversleep when too stressed, both of which impact my weight loss efforts.

The Garmin Vivosmart HR+ does this. If you look back in your other thread on this topic I posted a reply with some more information

Unfortunately sometimes the best we can do is shut out the negative feedback. I find most of the people who take it upon themselves to criticize our choices are those who are struggling themselves and want to find a way to "catch" others failing because they feed badly about themselves. I empathize, but I don't tolerate it…

When I lost 100 lbs on my last good run I went from a 44DD to a 36C, which actually isn't a huge difference in actual cup volume. Remember that cup size can be deceiving - much smaller band size/slightly smaller cup size can still be quite similar to the size worn when heavier. How much actual breast size is lost seems to…

I eat on a 20/4 intermittent fasting schedule. I generally eat from about 6-10 each day. I get more satisfaction from my limited amount of calories, don't have to worry about a post breakfast/lunch sleepiness crash or hunger, and the calories from my evening intake carry me thru my fasting time.

Keep in mind that the hormonal fluctuations associated with our menstrual cycles will affect water retention and inflammation which can seem to stall weight loss. I often find I will stay the same for about a week each month for the 2-3 days prior to and including my period, and drop the weight soon after it finishes.…
