  • Nope I want to look good nekid and see what it's like to actually be a healthy, in shape person.
  • Congrats on starting the gym and doing lifting! That being said, skip the advil and try every other day or just 3 days a week. I used to go 4-5 days a week when I first started and I was tired, sore and miserable all the time. Having at least 1 day of rest in fantastic. Plus you won't get burned out by being at the gym all…
  • I can't think of any specific humiliating experience while I was morbidly obese (340 pounds) because honestly, how I was treated by everyone is enough. My absolute worst experience though was getting another MRI after I found out I had a brain tumor. I'm not claustrophobic by any means but being put into a coffin sized…
  • Diet is going to be a major part of this, need to make sure you are eating the propper types of foods and enough protein. fit_rox has a good question about the protein shakes. The second I started having a shake immediately after working out made a HUGE difference in my recovery even though I was already eating ample…
  • That about sums it up for me. I'm still definitely an amatuer when it comes to lifting weights, Deadlift is only 265 lbs, Squat is only 245. Can't bench my bodyweight yet but here are some things I've noticed: 1. I recently had to move and unfortunately don't have many people I could call for help. When I could basically…
  • I don't because it's blasphemy and I would never turn my back on regular ol PB.
  • Yeah........ There is a part of me that is fairly upset I didn't figure this all out before hand. I'm never hungry, growing strong and enjoy being at the gym. Actually I'm rather upset if I can't make it to the gym, it's my happy place. Used to just be a grumpy &*%#er all the time because I was hungry and felt…
  • I'm just starting week 8 today and so far have loved it. As others have said, I've lost weight while doing this but that is because I'm eating at a calorie deficit and following up with 10-15 min interval sprints on the mill depending on how much time I have. I didn't start with the bar on all of them because of how much I…
  • Damn.... Beat me to it. In short, almost anything is possible in terms of weight loss. It's whether or not you want to do it in a healthy way or not, and also how much money you are willing to spend. I'm not going to repeat what everyone said already but there is some excellent avice that has been given.
  • Seriosly!? why in the HELL is almost every chair in known excistence uncomfortable!? I notice I find myself standing more than sitting at certian places now.
  • This, or stare at myself in the mirror. Occasionally I'll look around to see what other poeple are doing.
  • +1 to lifting all the way. I'm not one to disregard cardio, although I hate it with an absolute passion (probably because I'm still fat and out of shape but that's besides the point) it definitley has it's place and is important. I think both cardio and lifting are very important. It's amazing how much daily life can feel…
  • Still find sex to be my absolute favorite and enjoyable workout, maybe that's just me. On a serios note, glad you found something you enjoy doing that at least gets you out and moving. Never heard of this before, looks interesting.
  • Just keep doing your thing, don't worry about what happen. It may slow you down a little but it won't stop you if you stay on track for the future. No need to look to far into it, this isn't a race. Could always go the large amount of water and laxative route if you want to feel like your getting something out of your body…
  • Dark Chocolate all the way. These are one of the very few things that I just cannot keep around as I will consume them all in one sitting.
  • Sorry but being "cute" doesn't make him want to have sex? Wow, that's a load of BS. I love "cute' women, they drive me absolutely insane. The "child-like" comment is a little off though. Still think it's a bull**** cop-out. Sorry, but in my opinion, it's pretty much over. He is either a) cheating or b) not that interested…
  • There are veggie/vegan protein powders that you could buy at some stores that may work out a little better. Some have flavors and others can be tasteless. Thought I would throw that out there. I tried it once to give it a shot in juices/smoothies.
  • Blasphemy I tell you! Ok fine..... If that was something you felt you needed to do, good job! I actually started brewing my own beer and really only have a single bottle every couple of days if that. Haven't really have a "cheat" day yet so we'll see if that changes.
  • Delete: Quoted myself by accident.
  • Like others have said, nothign you can really do if they don't choose to quit. I stopped kissing my ex wife whenever she would smoke, that sort of worked but she still smoked whenever she could like a chimney if she wasn't going to be seeing me for a while. Guess I'll rephrase, you can do something but it just depends on…
  • I know exactly what you mean. Usually three types of people I see at the gym. 1. Those who come dressed up, most likely wanting attention. 2. Those who go to the gym just to say they went. Can usually point them out by how long it takes them to actually do anything, they also love sitting on the *#&%(&*@#%!!!!!…
  • Depends on how much you use and how ripe it is. I usually use half of one and put the other half in an airtight container to use the next day. More than a day or two and they don't look too tasty anymore. I know when making guacamole the use of lemon/lime juice (acidic stuff) will stop them from changing. If you are going…
  • Honestly, unless otherwise told by a doctor I really wouldn't bother worrying about sodium. If you drink plenty of water the whole "bloating" and water retention and stuff is really blown out of proportion. I love salt and cooking my own meals. When I realized that 1/4 tsp of salt is 500mg of sodium I just started ignoring…
  • Thank you for the replys. I think I will be picking up a pair soon. I'm not expecting to have some rediculous gains or for these shoes to move the earth but I've heard enough good about them from people don't who do any lifting but run and or just wear them as regular shoes in the spring/summer/fall. Unfortunately my gym…
  • Still counts man, keep up the good work!
  • Can't seem to get a side by side collage to work right as the pictures are different sizes but here are mine. Started at 340 and I was 226 on my last way in. Working my way to 180. More about my story is in my blog here. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Staniel_2013
  • Like JoRocka said, some gyms don't have them unfortunately. You can either mention it to them OR even buy your own set. They are a tad pricey but I think well worth it. I switched gyms, they still have them but put them in a crappy location that I can't do my routine on them anymore because it hits stuff. Thinking about…
  • I don't and probably never will, I just see it ending badly and not just for me. Would rather work out harder and get to eat more than have cannibalistic tendancies because I'm starving myself to lose weight the wrong way. No one really needs to be eating that low unless under special circumstance too.
  • Very nice, haven't watched/kept up with rugby for a while. Love watching the Haka though. Can't remember who it was against a few years ago I think, but NZ was doing the Haka at the same time vs the other team at the begining. Was rather interesting to see.
