Was working on getting ready for a powerlifting meet close by in November. Deadlift 545lb Squat 435 lb Bench 330 lb Unfortunately, I've got an ortho appointment Monday to *kitten* how bad my shoulder labrum tear is, so it looks like that's out. I guess every day will be leg day for a while!

I think you have a flawed perception of proper back squat form. Your knees may go past your toes a little. The bar should rest on your back about on the shoulder blades (this can vary based on whether you want to do a high bar or low bar back squat), not on your neck. You are not trying to keep your chest vertical during…

And the winner for the best, simple, and correct answer to your question of building muscle in that area.

To answer your original question, you were probably using a single stack, dual cable system. Most, and I say most, list the weight on the stack for each handle (cable). So if it says 20lbs on that stack it would be the equivalent of 40lbs on a single cable station. The number of pulleys in the system does make a…

This. And I will get lambasted on here by some, but you cannot due a good back squat with the smith machine. You have to have your legs and knees forward of the torso and this seems more comperable, at least to me, to the motion and work of a 40 degree hack squat machine.

Odds are that your dominant side is actually stronger but is lagging in order to support more of the weight during a press with barbells. This is usually shown during barbell presses once the muscles begin to fatigue. As the previous poster said, slow and in control through the entire range of motion is one way to…

I rotate in a number of Hammer strength machines for different workout splits. I find most of them replicate the intended motion fairly well with decent range. They are not a substition for compound barbell/dumbbell exercises. I add them in as an additional exercise in the rotation.

My Inzer Forever Belt. My back now loves me again.

At a rugby party after a match. I think she thought I might make an interesting sociology study after all the drunken debauchery that was going on. She's probably still trying to figure me out after 14 years. I wouldn't get too worked up over dating. My sister in law just recently got divorced after 16 years of marriage.…

My current gym has plenty of Adrenaline Cloride and Qwick-Aid, but that may not be the substitiion you are looking for. I hope you find a nice new gym. Also well done getting the PF crowd agitated.

Not just no, but absolutely, without a doubt, most emphactically no.

First off, heart attacks are not attributed to the heart having only so many beats. Heart attacks occur due to abnormal blood flow to the actual heart tissue. Even heart failure isn't attributed to hust old age. Its still correlated to coronary heart disease, diabetes, etc. So, in summary, dude is an idiot.

First off, your form does not seem to be too far out of whack. As others have said, hip and knee flexibility are probably the root cause of some issues. With a proper back squat, the bar should be vertically aligned with the center of the foot at the start of the drive. A lot of people try to maintain some awkward vertical…

No, but I do weigh it (2tbs is approx 1 oz) or check the cup size if I'm eating out.

Everyone gets 'bored' at the gym from time to time. Usually its fatigue, stress, burnout, or maybe that type of exercise isn't for you. Before tossing in the towel, evaluate what your doing in the gym. Do you have a plan before you go through the door? Does the plan cover the week, or the month, or maybe 12 weeks?…

No...I just cancelled cable. Sounds like a great excuse to stroll over to the bar.
-
Yep, that's pretty much it.

Google 'Mark Rippetoe squatting'. Watch videos until you think you undertand the mechanics. Use a phone, camera, etc. to compare your form. Squat regularly and eventually heavy and grow some tree trunks!!!!!!!

At this point with a 7 month old, if it meant I got to sleep through the night, absolutely. Big spoon, middle spoon, little spoon, teaspoon, stacked spoon...

LOL. This is the most important question of the thread.

I'm looking forward to it. I may have to go back and get through DA2 as I read that you may be able to import save files from the previous games for a world consistancy.

Buy smaller breasts or sausages and then you can fit both on there.

You need to find out what the requirements are for your department's CPAT. Two of my buddies are firemen and we trained together trying to get them ready for the academy. Lifting focus was on squats, dead lifts, overhead press, bent rows. You are going to want to spend a lot of time climbing stairs. Climbs stairs all the…

I guess that's why its good to be rich so someone else can carry around your kids.

I was at the pub chatting with a cute girl I had met earlier at a rugby match and everything is going well and we decide to go out on a date that week. I head off to the restroom and when I come back, she calls me an *kitten* and attempts to throw her beer in my face. Unfortunately, it was in a bottle and she lost her grip…

I'm in for this explanantion also because it runs counter to everything I've ever been taught.

As an overall conditioning exercise, I would have to say man makers with dumbells. For strength, a solid routine of heavy compound exercises. For cardio fitness, swimming followed closely by running/sprinting. For abs of steel, two hours of muay thai 4 or 5 days a week.

I hope the fad doesn't end anytime soon. As someone with Celiac, I actually have access to affordable, convenient options for treats or decent hamburger buns. Dammit! Now I want a burger...
