  • It may be beneficial to have a "white noise". you can use a fan I have found that having a fan on creates just enough noise that it covers a lot of creaks and groans, without covering any alarm type noises (smoke/carbon monoxide, etc.) . You can start a fan in the hallway and every night move it about a foot closer to the…
  • I am the youngest of 5 in my family. My mom had bad health and weight issues since before I was born, having taking medication that she was allergic to. She was diabetic (pancreas didn't work at all), she developed heart issues with some of the medications she was on. I really don't know if there were many days that she…
  • " Well, I'd much rather be a slinky than a yo-yo.....yo-yo's go down then are yanked back up again, and sometimes smack you in the face. Slinky's continue to go down and stay when they are at their resting place. And when I'm done, I'll look 'slinky'. or "Gravity just likes me better".
  • I did weight watchers 3 seperate times. Lost around 20 each time.......and promptly gained 20+ each time. I found that even if something was low on points, I would have been better off eating something a little higher in points that would be healthier for me. for me, it's all about the accountability. What I like about MFP…
  • First of all, congratulations! I was told with all of my pregnancies that you can continue on with what you are used to doing. If you work out 50 minutes at a time, keep doing that. I wouldn't add anything extra strenuous, like if you don't lift a refrigerator to sweep everyday, don't start now. but keeping up with what…

  • Maybe you are meaning target instead of goal? a goal is definite, a target is a little more flexible. You hit an average of 17.6 of your target, or 88%. If that is satisfactory to you, then by all means call it complete! It's kind of like having a target weight, and a goal weight. My target weight is 145, but my goal…
  • OP, you will probably find that after about 3 weeks or so, you will kind of level off (hit a stand-still, plateau). that's when it's time to change up your routine. try to eat a little more for 2-3 days (200-300 calories is all) and then start over with the 1200 calorie diet. I know that sounds counter-productive, but it…

  • My doctor also told me to go on 1200 calories. It is really hard when you don't want to eat because of medication. I don't do any sort of shake, but I do eat a McDonalds fruit and yogurt parfait in the mornings (usually). I came on MFP to keep better track of my calories, and it does really help.

  • OP, I am on phentermine as well. I found that I couldn't take a full pill, so I cut it in half. works so much better. I had headaches and vision problems at first, but upped the water intake (phentermine will dehydrate you terribly) I also had a terrible time with a stuffed nose. I now combine phentermine with a…

  • I don't use shaving creams or conditioners, just water, as I have very sensitive skin and coarse dark hair. I've found that when I use the shaving cream that I was more prone to ingrown hairs and red bumps. I shave up the leg first, then down so it helps the microscopic hairs to lie down. I use as sharp of a razor as I can…
  • I try to weigh everyday. If I skip a day at all, its on the weekend. I record if I'm down, but I usually only pay attention to Monday mornings weight to get a better idea of how much I've lost. I have a scale at work, and weight with my clothes on (same type of clothing almost everyday) and after I pee. Nothing in my…
  • I have done the phentermine in the past as well. I started the first time by taking a whole pill once in the morning. I got jittery, had cottonmouth with the bad taste and insomnia like you wouldn't believe. So my doctor recommended I try half a pill. That was the exact thing I needed. I still had dry mouth, but not so…
  • I'm just starting to try to kick my 2-litre + habit of Diet Dr. Pepper. again. I've stopped before......for months at a time, just to start drinking it again. I realized that I need that fizz to feel the burn a little, so I tried the flavored waters that are carbonated to transition to the regular flavored water or crystal…
  • Feel free to add me as well! I just started trying to lose weight about 2 weeks ago, and have roughly 75 pounds more to lose. I would love to have others to talk with that are going thru the same journey. I log in almost every day unless I'm away from the computer.
  • You can add me as well! I'm 43 (soon to be 44). Just starting up again, 2 years ago had a 70 pound loss, then life happened and I fell off the wagon. I need to lose around 75 pounds to be at goal weight, but I make mini goals to get me there. Good Luck! Here's mud in your pie (so you won't want pie.....)
