And also to stave off catabolizm!

I apologize if my posts came across the wrong way. I applaud you on your weight loss. Maybe I'm just cranky right now because I still have a lot more calories to eat today!

What does ego have anything to do with it? My only point was that people on Atkins will lose weight, but like many other low CHO plans, there is an overexaggeration of insulin's role in this process. Studies show that people on low CHO plans reduce overall caloric intake and lose weight. Insulin, driven by high CHO intake…

Well, that's a selective quotation of what I said. Atkins will help you lose weight but NOT for the reason they state. It's the caloric deficit (not the insulinz!) Long-term weight loss can ONLY be achieve through a caloric deficit, and nothing else.

Atkins will help you lose weight, but not for that reason you state.

Although it seems to be a near consensus on the opinion that men avoid complimenting on weight loss out of fear on the uncertaintly of how the woman will react. But I disagree. I think the point Heathersmilez makes plays a bigger factor. Women check out other women more than men do.....and they are more critical than men.…

Any 2,200 calorie meal plan with a protein/carb/fat breakdown of 50/30/20 will be very filling and a challenge to consume on a daily basis. On the upside, you'll be shocked at how easily you shed weight. I sure as heck was.

Hot!

I don't mind slow drivers but I can't stand it when people are driving excessively slow because they are on their cell phones.

Chicken breast? If you don't like chicken....you could try beans and rice. Separately, neither of them constitute a complete protein...but when you combine beans and rice, you get a pretty decent source of protein. Soy/Tofu Peanuts (high in fat and calories though).

I would be my Infiniti M Sport..... reliable, comfortable and fun to drive. My wife would be her Audi A4 Cabrio...cute & free-spirited

Girl running on treadmill & dripping with sweat = ubersexy! HTH

It'll definitely work...yes. In fact, I have no doubt in my mind that I'd be much lighter today if I had stuck with NS instead of quitting after a week. For people that need to lose a good amount of weight and fast, NS will definitely do the job. It would be cheaper to just prepare your own foods, but you're buying into a…

I wouldn't exactly call peanut butter a protein rich food when compared to the amount of fat calories that accompany it. Two teaspoons will have at least 100 calories and around 4 grams of protein. If you're eating a very low fat diet and want to balance out your fat intake or want to get some more healthy oils in your…

I'm being harsh, but to me it felt like the system was designed to replace heart disease with cancer. The food was way too processed and not healthy at all. Nutrisystem might help people get used to understanding the kind of portion sizes that are needed to lose weight or maintain a slim weight. But after a week, my wife…

Great, so those two servings of Naan I had a few days ago during our weekend getaway added 1,000 calories to my lunch. No wonder I came back so much heavier!

That was pretty insensitive! My wife says stuff like that to me all the time. Recently, I found out that one of her friends thinks I'm short and that her future imaginary husband will definitely be taller. It bothered me a bit, but I didn't let it show.....just laughed it off instead. I think guys are just too proud to…

Ever since I switched my diet and eliminated all unhealthy foods and ate only nutrient dense foods, eating my daily alotment of 2100 calories has NOT been easy. If you plan your meals and adhere to a 40/30/30 breakdown and eliminate ALL foods with a high glycemic index, you may find that it's not so easy eating even 1500…

We have a lot of cod, wild sockeye salmon filets and chicken breast on hand from Costco. They're all individually sealed so all you have to do is put them in the fridge the night before and then bake them the next evening with some seasoning. Couple that with a vegetable like broccoli (I like them lightly steamed mixed…

What a coincidence... I went rollerblading for the first time in a long-time over the weekend also. I had forgotten just how fun it was.....exhilarating is definitely the right word! I'm so used to doing cardio at the gym, I forgot just how fun cardio can be. At the gym, resistance training is normally the "fun" part of…

If by chance you want a report with total calories without regard to the calories you "earned" via exercise, just scroll down under the "Choose Report" option and select "Calories" (instead of the default "Net Calories").

coffee?? Wow, you've got some good willpower! I've upped my coffee intake to compensate for all the stuff I've been denying myself. I've pretty much eliminated fast food and high GI starches/sugars from my diet. Instead I eat mountains of fruits/vegetables and a lot of lean protein.

Very nice! That reminds me... my clothes compliment me every morning. My work pants have gotten so baggy that I can slip them on or off without unbuttoning them. Friends and relatives I haven't seen for a while keep telling me that I look very young. My mother-in-law told me that I'm starting to look the way I did when I…

So in order to be at a sufficient caloric deficit (-500 calories/day) and ALSO eat above your BMR, you'd have to do some daily exercises. This way your target caloric intake of 1450 would go up and surpass your BMR. BTW, my BMR is also higher than the target set by this site. I think this is common for people who select…

Banks, thanks for the info. Does the F6 come with any kind of metabolic test? Or does it estimate it based on your stats?

At least you women get to live longer. Women are also biologically stronger (i.e., higher pain threshold, prepare for marathons in a shorter period of time, etc).

I've been smoke free for almost a year and a half now. I had several unsuccessful attempts to quit before I was finally able to stop. What made it even more challenging for me was the fact that my wife is a smoker and she wasn't interested in quitting. For me, the key was that I truly wanted to quit. My health was really…

It'll firm-up somewhat over time....especially if you maintain a good cardio routine. http://www.bodyfatguide.com/LooseSkin.htm Also, in addition to the great exercises mentioned above, consider doing pistol squats and Bulgarian squats if you only have access to dumbbells. The key is to make the exercise difficult enough…
