  • I'm 27, lost 100lbs in 2014 and have another 75-100lbs to go. Happy to be friends with anyone on a similar journey!
  • So sorry to hear what you've been through. I don't really know what anyone could say to make it better. I hope, for your sake, that 2015 is better. All you can really do each day is get up and do your best. Hard days/months/years make us who we are and although it's hard to see now, you'll be better for it in the future. I…

  • Even though you're not really bulking, I bet ketogains would have a lot of good info. http://www.reddit.com/r/ketogains/ Do you like keto? I love it.
  • You're right! I won't even play into it anymore. Thanks and hope you have a good one!
  • Actually no, I said I eat 5g of sugar. I eat about 18g of carbs a day give or take a few grams. Feel free to check out my instagram butterisnotacarb, I post what I eat. Sorry to iridescentblue who was just helping and ended up getting into an unnecessary debate.
  • I'm pretty sure I said "most of my carbs come from vegetables." No I don't eat fruits - any nutrients in fruit can be found in vegetables. You can sometimes get away with a small amount of berries, but I don't need them. I regularly eat spinach, mushrooms, cucumbers, bell peppers, celery, onions, brussels sprouts,…
  • I eat about 5g of sugar a day roughly. I live a ketogenic lifestyle (low carb, high fat, moderate protein) and the majority of my carbs/sugar come from vegetables. I eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods aside from ranch dressing, sugar free bbq sauce and sriracha. I stopped eating carbs cold turkey March 2014, although my…
  • I read parts of Grain Brain when I first started out. I think it is fairly accurate for the most part. I did my own kind of "scientific testing" over the holidays when I didn't eat keto for two weeks. Felt awful, terrible headache every day, tired every day, etc. Keto has been great and I'm so glad to be back at it this…
  • Been living keto since March 2014. I lost 103lbs from March-December. Took two weeks off for Christmas and got back on the keto train on Monday with fairly minimal damage done.
  • I eat over 110g fat a day (ketogenic lifestyle) and lost 100lbs in 2014 so... don't worry about it.
  • Hey all! I lost 100lbs in 2014 and have at least another 75-100 to go. Would love to be friends with anyone who is in a similar position - happy to be support in any way I can.
  • 100lbs lost, March 2014-December 2014
  • This was happening to me, too, but seems to have resolved itself.
  • Hey OP. This is my big fear, too. I feel that at the end of my weight loss I'll be exactly where you are. I lost 100lbs this year and still have a ways to go. I know, logically, this will not solve my problems, though I wish it would. You've done the "heavy lifting" already, now it's time to focus on yourself in a…

  • Hey Dan. Research shows there's no benefit to eating more or less at certain times of the day. If you like splitting them evenly and that works for you, keep doing it. Basically "don't eat after 8" and "eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper" are myths, is my point. Considering your success…
  • You don't really need the oil, it just boosts the fat a little.
  • Ahhh yep I write Butter Is Not a Carb.  Thank you so much for loving it and for enjoying the brussels sprouts!! I am going to be making those again for myself on Sunday because they're so good and so easy. TrophyWife my scramble is sauteed spinach and mushrooms in butter + a little avocado oil, with 2 eggs…
  • Thanks so much everyone!! TrophyWife you can do it! If you ever have questions, don't hesitate to message me!
  • Overall health is so important and it sounds like you're doing great. Congratulations!!
  • Great job! You're doing awesome!!
  • Love keto friends.
  • There's nothing wrong with eatin low carb. If you're going to do low carb, consider eating full fat foods instead. Fat is not the enemy and keeps you fuller longer. Also, be sure to read the label on the yogurt; many low fat yogurts are full of sugar and carbs to replace the flavor lost by removing the fat. I live a…
  • Grapefruit would be horrible to be honest, way too much sugar. You need to keep your blood sugar and insulin levels stable in order to prevent extra insulin from releasing into your system. I would urge you to look into a ketogenic lifestyle, low carb high fat. I am seriously insulin resistant and have PCOS and have lost…
  • Do you plan on drinking the shakes for the rest of your life? If not, it's not a sustainable lifestyle change. Eating whole foods and a well-balanced diet of less calories than you burn is the best bet to guaranteed weight loss and overall health.
  • Stevia in the raw is all natural, but best of luck. http://www.stevia.com/ "Stevia is a South American herb used as a natural sweetener for centuries. The leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant have a refreshing taste, zero glycemic index, zero calories and zero carbs. It is 25-30 times sweeter than sugar, and far more…
  • Been at it a few months now and I've lost 98 pounds. Best thing I ever did for myself.
  • I only use Stevia. Honey and agave would not work on keto - waaay too many carbs. Your body cannot identify natural sugars from artificial, it would react the same to each.
  • I dunno, I've lost 98 pounds since March eating a lot of butter, ranch and mayo haha. I used to binge on fast food 2-4x a week. Makes me cringe to think about now.
