When I first started keto I didn't have the typical symptoms either. Keep at it, it works. Also, due to some negative reactions on this board surrounding keto, I suggest reading/joining http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/1160-keto too. Best of luck!

Chicago native now living in New Jersey. Sorry NY/NJ, Chicago pizza is far, far superior. (Also Chicago-style hot dogs are missed, too.)

As someone with severe PCOS, living a ketogenic lifestyle has literally save my life. I highly suggest you research it as an option. Regardless of whether or not you do keto, you need to replace your carb calories with fat in order to stay satiated. Here are some great keto links to get you started:…

Great job and keep it up!! :)

Hi and welcome! This keto group is really supportive and has a lot of good info. Have you figured out your calories and macros yet? If not I suggest visiting http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ to get that squared away first. You'll want to eat at a deficit while eating about 70% of your calories from fat, 25% from protein…

Thanks so much!! :) :)

Induction is usually <20g net for 2 weeks or so, then most people slowly raise their carb level to figure out what the max is they can tolerate while staying in ketosis. It can take a few weeks to become fully "fat-adapted" after being in ketosis.

No, actually. I have a medical condition that requires it. Thanks for playing.

Michelob Ultra has 2.6g carbs per bottle, according to the nutrition facts. Miller Lite has 3.2g. A couple of those during an otherwise high fat relatively low carb day shouldn't throw you.

Down 70 pounds in 6 months on the low carb high fat lifestyle. It's not bull and it's not a fad.

Dan you give the best reviews for my food!! I appreciate it so much! I almost put half an almond in each mold of the batch I made today but I'm kind of low on almonds right now. I've also put in 2-3 dark chocolate chips in each one before too for a little added crunch; that obviously changes the macros though. This put…

I'm the same way. I love mushrooms cooked in any dish but hate them raw, like on salad. I absolutely refuse to eat raw tomatoes but I'm okay with chunky salsa/pasta sauce/pizza sauce. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I am big (and was even bigger) and never needed two seats. I bought my own seatbelt extender online because I was always so embarrassed to ask a flight attendant for one. Having that with me has brought my so much peace of mind when I fly and has lowered my anxiety tremendously. Best of luck - I think you'll be okay in one…

I have pretty severe depression. It hasn't made me stop my lifestyle change, but it has made me stop caring about my success. Like, today I reached 70 pounds lost and my only thought was "meh." That's not great. I agree that small things are best. Practice logging even if it's not healthy. Make sure you're drinking enough…

Thank you both so much! :)

I have severe PCOS (very insulin resistant) which is why I started keto. Blood sugar spikes in everyone when they eat high carb/sugary foods. To move this sugar from the bloodstream into cells for energy, insulin is released from the pancreas. When someone is insulin resistant, over time it requires more and more insulin…

This is speaking for myself only: because of medical reasons, basic "calories in, calories out" does not work for me. My macros the last six months have been 70% fat, 25% protein, 5% carbs (keto) and I've lost 70 pounds. For most people, CICO works just fine. I'm adding this link just for info, although I disagree with the…

Been living keto since March and just reached 70 pounds lost. Anyone can feel free to add me - my diary is open to friends. :)

I pre-log 99% of the time the night before. Since I'm living keto and need my macros to be on point every day I find this is the easiest for me.

"Low carb" has many different meanings. I live a ketogenic lifestyle (http://www.butterisnotacarb.com/what-is-a-ketogenic-lifestyle/) and my ratios are 70% fat, 25% protein, 5% carbs. Low carb can also meaning 50-150g carbs a day. It depends what your goals are. Most definitely you need to eat more fat if you cut carbs. I…

I had insomnia for several years which ended once I started keto, too. The insane increase in energy has been my favorite side effect. I used to be too tired to cook dinner after work. Now I go to the gym, clean up around the apartment, cook dinner, make something for lunch the next and then relax. It's night and day.

I made myself parmesan-crusted tilapia and roasted asparagus.

I used to love no-bake cookies like that - looks great! :) I started a recipe blog a few months ago and have really enjoyed it. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time and I'm glad I started. Best of luck with yours!
