I'm eating below 20g of carbs a day for therapeutic reasons, and dude, it's the worst. I hate it. It's just as extreme as any medication regime I've ever been on. If the metabolic change helps limit my seizures, fine, but I have NO idea why anyone would do this for weight loss. Do you have any idea how much spring mix I…

Coffee in the morning, tea at night, plenty of water, sometimes a shot of Mio, sometimes a glass of Arizona green tea zero. I don't drink for medical reasons, so I haven't struggled with cutting it out, but I bet it would be a huge pain in the *kitten* if I drank regularly.

I also started on Monday and I can happily say the fog is finally starting to lift! I feel AWESOME today. No idea how much water weight I've lost because honestly who cares, but I'm seeing stable energy levels and I feel like I can think better, which is nice. I haven't broken away from eggs for breakfast just yet, but I…

I'm on keto so my fat has to be crazy high, and on days when I think I'm falling short, I drizzle a few tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil on a big bowl of spring greens. Bam, problem solved.

I mean, everyone will say protein or carb, but everyone has a different macro balance that helps them feel satiated. I never feel comfortably full unless I have some healthy fat in my meals. Carbs make me feel kind of bloated and still hungry? I'd play around with your balances until you find something that works for you.
-
Yeah, if you're going low carb, I'd look hard at your fat intake. Your body has to have something to burn. Fiber shouldn't be a problem if you're eating enough veg, though. Spinach and avocado everywhere!
-
It works fine for me, and I'm on Keto so I had to screw with my macro goals like crazy. As long as you hit 100%, it should be fine, I think?

I'm three days in. Not for weight loss, though that would be a nice side effect. I'm trying it as an alternative epilepsy treatment, and what I have learned is that cream is DELICIOUS.

The more I eat well, the more I want to eat well. When I let myself eat processed crap, I sort of redevelop a taste for it, and then I eat more of it, and I stop wanting my greens, and I spiral. I'm one of those people that basically has to cut out sugar and junk entirely to be happy and healthy, oops

Open diary here! I'm a vegetarian so if you're looking for fruit and veg heavy inspiration, I'm your girl
-
Nope. I eat an absurd amount of fruit and veg, but I do it because I like it. When I'm lifting, I'll sometimes grab a good vegan protein powder and toss it into almond milk, which I don't LOVE but it makes me feel steady after a work out, where a bowl of blueberries probably won't. That's about it, though.

Pretty right on the money! I'd like to lose 25 by September and IDEALLY 45 by Christmas. You should add me!
-
Yeah, barring serious and unusual medical conditions, you're eating a lot more than you think. I'm pushin' thirty at 5'7 and about 2000 is my maintenance when I'm at goal weight. At 18, I could eat a lot more. Not that that's BAD. You definitely should be eating enough to give your body what it needs, and 800 calories…

I have the instinct towards impatience, but I know if I drop a ton of weight super fast, it'll just come back that much faster. I'm only looking to use 5:2 to lose the ten-fifteen I put back on when I fell off the wagon, then easing back into a normal, very slow rate of loss for the last ten pounds. Problem is, I'm worried…

First week! First DAY. Er, first FD, rather. I feel okay! I've split up my meals like I normally would, but I think next FD I'm gonna try splitting my breakfast cals in two and assigning them to lunch and dinner, respectively. Mom bought me my favorite donut this morning, but it's sitting patiently on the kitchen counter,…
-
Yeah, I just started but personally I don't see myself doing anything but taking a leisurely stroll on FD. I don't feel weak or dizzy, but I feel like I WOULD if I tried anything intense, you know? Yeah, I want to lose, but I don't want to put myself in danger, either.
-
Not my favorite place to indulge - I'm kind of food snob tbh - but yeah, indulgence!! I'm thinking of going to my favorite Italian joint next week just because.

Depends on what kind of game you're playing. Some genres are better known for horrible people than others. In MMOs, I tend to ignore it, flag it if they won't shut the hell up, and focus on playing with people I enjoy talking to. In MOBAs... to be honest, I don't play many of them because I hate the community attitudes so…

Hating yourself isn't gonna help you lose weight. Honestly, it's the opposite. There's nothing wrong with your body, and you need to respect yourself if you want to improve your health. My highest weight was 230ish, and I got absolutely no where until I made up my mind to forgive myself and like myself because weight…

You might have better luck in the paleo-specific groups, I'm afraid. Paleo's one of those weird hot buttons that tends to start arguments around these parts for.. whatever reason.

I think comparing garden variety cravings for junk food to an addiction is insulting both to people struggling with disordered eating and with actual addictions. Can you use food as an emotional crutch to avoid dealing with *kitten*? Yeah, absolutely. Is that the same as someone on heroin? God, no. Absolutely not.…
-
Yeah, I've lost all my weight eating basically whatever the hell I want. That mostly translates to whole, unprocessed foods and watching my macros because a: that's more satisfying - I HATE being hungry, and b: my body feels so so so much better when I do. I haven't given up banana bread or chocolate or cheesecake or…

I think this is actually really important. If you're struggling with ten pounds, I mean, that ten pounds isn't going to make a significant health difference, and it's not like you don't still look fantastic. Instead of making yourself crazy and restricting and generally having a bad time, why not just eat at maintenance,…

You CAN, yeah, but all that sodium is reeeally not good for you. Rely too heavily on that *kitten* and not only will you be completely dependent on processed, sub-par foods, but too much sodium can result in high blood pressure and even kidney issues. I'm not saying don't eat them - if it works it works, but don't rely on…
-
Okay, here's the thing though - I didn't lose a THING until I started respecting and liking myself. I spent twenty years miserable with my weight and flailing around, trying to lose, and nothing stuck. I tried diets, counting calories, straight up starving, everything I could think of but I always fell off the wagon after…

Yeah, you want someone who is happiest to see you at your healthiest, whatever weight that may be. Anyone who is less attracted to you because you're less curvacious but happier and healthier isn't someone you want in your life. If you were chronically underweight and it was taking a toll on your health, would you have any…

It *sucks*. It's honestly my biggest hurdle to making health gains. My alarm goes off, and I lay there thinking about how great my bed is, but then I remind myself that I'll regret it if I don't go, and I'm awake anyway and I won't sleep as well if I try to go back, so I might as well. It also helps to fantasize about how…

Yes and no. I generally shoot for 1500 calories daily, rain or shine. I work out for strength and fitness, not weight loss, so generally I don't touch those calories - UNLESS I had an extra long workout that's left me particularly hungry or something like that. Then I'll eat mmmaybe half of it back to make sure my body has…

The only "stall" I've ever had was when I started seriously lifting, and that only lasted a few weeks. Then weight just kind of fell off. Otherwise, any slowing or stalling I've had has been down to my not tracking properly. It's been said, but are you SURE you're under your caloric goals? Don't guess, measure. Weigh…

...like, high calorie foods to eat? Or to avoid? Are we talking avocados or ice cream or what? We're going to need more than "high calorie" to go on.
