Great articles!!

I liked the "Quitting the Sitting" Facebook page during the May SLBC. I can attest to the number of really good articles on that page!! <3

Once again, I totally agree with you. Anything from the Fitbit is probably something they already know...or don't care about. How active you are? That's easy to tell from observation. How many hours you sleep? They don't care. Some people need more sleep than others. I've recently gotten off of all my blood pressure meds…

YES!! Me and my work teammates all bought our own Fitbits and challenge each other. We have a group on the Fitbit site. We have a lot of fun, are all getting healthier, and have a really tight team at work. Our employer has free yoga classes at lunch that we attend. We are doing all this because we want to...I don't see…

Challenge accepted!! My step count has been about a third of normal lately since I've been recovering from a hurt ankle...but oddly enough, climbing stairs is soothing to the hurt muscles. I don't want to backtrack on the healing process, so I'm not going to get in more steps, but I will climb more stairs. And…

I've enjoyed the challenge, with all the new ideas. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago, I was going along nicely, walking 7 to 9 miles a day, yoga twice a week, weight lifting (upper body only) three times a week...and then I was reminded of my age when a 20-year-old ankle injury started bothering me, to the point it…

I'm totally up for this one. I'm going to try to get at least 250 steps per hour at work. Movement = health improvement!!
-
OOoh! Great idea!!

Dance party!! My dogs think I am nuts, and I'm a bad dancer, but I enjoy it and it is great exercise.
-
Thanks for the invite, Denise!!! I am very competitive and do better with a challenge!! I've synced my Fitbit...I got 17, 260 steps today...I'll try to do even better tomorrow.

Like the others, I think you did well this week. It takes time to get everything the way you want it. You are logging -- that is great!! You are exercising -- even better. Slowly start exercising more and eating less, if you want to lose all your weight and keep it off. Otherwise, it will be too difficult, and the chances…

I'm going to continue yesterday's challenge, as well as, do more hurricane cleanup in my yard. My team at work has had a Fitbit step challenge going for the past two weeks. Me (52-year-old overweight woman with an old ankle injury) and a 71-year-old guy have been duking it out for the top spot. I've been ahead for the past…

Good challenge!! I need this -- for both exercise and a cleaner, more organized house.

I have my Fitbit hourly activity set for 12 hours...and got all 12 today, as well as, 14,546 steps. I <3 my Fitbit.

I'm going to enjoy this Fall weather with several walks. I will also do some arm exercises with my dumbbells.
-
It's a little rainy here, but so far, I've been able to walk 1.5 miles outside. Later, I'm going shopping and walking all over the place. Exercise + Retail Therapy = Sheer Joy!!
-
I did my one thing, picking up sticks in the yard before I got in the car. It is a great way to start the day!
-
Great idea! Stress has been one of my biggest enemies my whole life. For whatever reason, I can not deal well with stress...and it is not good for my health. I'm going to focus hard on this goal.
-
I wasn't able to do much today due to Hurricane Matthew preparations...even though the odds are now that it will miss Southeastern Virginia...on the other hand, I got a lot of extra movement doing that.
-
Excellent idea about walking during commercial breaks...I''ll get started on this at the next commercial break...and keep it up after today.
-
I'm a fidgeter...instead of trying to suppress it, I'll encourage it!. Also, I completed the form.

I am a Boot Camp alum from April...and I'm still moving! So, there wasn't anything "easy" to come up with for my "one thing." But, I've felt like such a slug stepping into my car to go places because you don't burn many calories sitting on your duff driving around. So I've decided to get in some extra steps before I leave…

Thanks for this challenge. This will be an exciting month of health improvement. Great website!
-
I will say a prayer for you, Lexi. You are young. You can beat this!!

My doctor has said that I should weigh 130 lbs, since that is what I weighed after I had my son, and most of my life until my mid-30s. I'm 5'8", 52 years old, currently 192.4 lbs...I tend to eat a lot...hence, the weight. ;) I have a medium frame, as noted by fitness professionals over the years, and didn't look skinny at…

Thank *you both* for hosting the Sit Less Boot Camp!! I am definitely sitting less and moving more. I'm a software engineer, so I (used to) sit still for long periods of time staring at a computer screen, to the point that when I would stand up, I'd have cramps and have to stretch a bit to stand up straight. One thing that…

I am going to walk as much as I can today, in between rain showers. Walking with my fitbit has turned out to be a good thing for me. I have TOTALLY enjoyed this series, and look forward to seeing it again in October. I've gotten lots of good ideas about being more active this month. Thank you!!
-
Awesome! I liked the page, too. It will be nice to have this after this boot camp is over. Thank you!!

I will do at least one day trip hiking. When my adult son was younger, I was a Boy Scout Leader in a very active troop. We did so many fun outdoors activities -- camping, hiking, canoing...it was so much fun!!

The main exercise I do is walking (I guess even mowing the yard counts as walking), but I like the HR part. I was able to see just how out of shape I am...I took a 5K walk with my dog this weekend, it took us an hour, but my heart rate got up a little higher than it should have. I wasn't in pain or very much out of breath,…
