The staircase at my work is right next to the ladies bathroom. Every time I visit the ladies bathroom, I am going to walk up and down the stairs twice. I'm going to keep my mind open to other opportunities to move throughout the day.

I'm having so much with my new FitBit!!! I am going to get over 10,000 steps in today. That is the plan. LOL, I am always seeking ways to get in new steps...just to get my step count up. This morning, when I took the dogs out back to use the bathroom, instead of standing watching them (earlier this month I stopped sitting…

I am going to see how many steps I can get on my new FitBit today!!! Gadget fun that keeps me from sitting.

Holy cow. I used to have very frequent migraines. My doctor, who fancied himself a headache expert, tried all sorts of awful drugs, that didn't do much. Then, thankfully, he retired, and my new doctor told me to lower my sodium intake, which is now generally below MFP limits, and I rarely have a migraine, and if I do, I…

I think I may do the alternative challenge tonight...on the other hand, I'm getting a FitBit today, so I'm DYING to walk and see the step count go up!!!
-
I did that!! I went on a 3 mile walk with my buddies from work.

Finish the lawn mowing I didn't get to yesterday because of the rain.

I will definitely be working in the yard, including mowing my yard, with my pushmower, of course. When I mow the yard, I drink a lot of water, and I have no appetite afterwards...and my yard looks better. Should be an awesome day!!

How much sodium are you ingesting per day? I know if I have sodium late at night, or go over 3000 mg total for the day, I will wake up with a headache. My doctor says I am sodium sensitive, maybe you are too?

I think I will clean a corner of my kitchen tonight. I love this challenge, and the fact that it is an entire month.

Well done!! Thanks for sharing!

I loved my 40s. It was an awesome decade. Turning 50 hit me really hard, and now I'm worried about wrinkles, health, etc. (I'm 52 now).

And this, too. When I eat carbs, they are complex carbs.

I find that if I don't eat simple sugars, or at least minimize them, I don't have hypoglycemia problems.

Oh, Fuzzi! That is the truth!! I've been a vegetarian for a while, love veggies, and eat healthy...but in college...I existed on really bad food, the only vegetables I ate were a couple of pickles and some ketchup on my cheeseburger. If I knew then what I knew now...I would have had a different lifestyle.

My previous doctor called himself a headache expert. He tried all sorts of drugs on me, none of which worked. My new fabulous doctor fixed my migraines by having me eat less than 2300 mg sodium per day. She said some people just have a sodium sensitivity. I was in a migraine state for 1/3 of a month, every month, but now,…

I'm in the same situation. With the Vitamin D, my doctor said this is a very common problem for women my age (I'm 52, I've been on the Vitamin D supplements for several years.) She told me to take a 5000 mg supplement daily. I asked about getting more sun, and she said that as a physician, she can not advise that (sun…

Good for you!!! I wish I was a vegan when I was your age. I didn't drop meat until my mid-40s. I feel so much better, and my doctor is amazed at how healthy I am. (My doctor whole-heartedly endorses a vegan diet.) Meat kind of grosses me out now, I guess because I'm not used to eating it. So, I don't even miss meat. And I…

Quest bars!! I love them, and they have 20 g protein.

Can you bring in bottled water? I find I do really well at work, and conferences, etc. because I am usually sitting in one place (except for breaks) most of the time. Good luck!!

I <3 you!! My thoughts exactly.

Congratulations!! You look wonderful!! Thanks for sharing!

Soy milk!! I <3 soy milk. I was raised on skim milk, and I drank tons of it. Which was a good thing, since I like to ride horses, and as many times as I've been dumped by a horse or fallen off, I've never broken or even fractured a bone. I started drinking soy milk, using it as coffee creamer, etc. about 5+ years…

Great thread -- I'll be following this.

WOW!!! Thanks for letting me know that. I'll ask my doctor about it. I do like soy, I drink so milk, have the soy protein powder (although I could switch to help) and I love tofu. She did say that eating all the soy was why I wasn't having any menopause symptoms. I'll ask her if I am having too much of a good thing.

You look great! Job well done!

Oh...and my doctor, who is a vegetarian, told me to take a B12 and iron supplement, so I do that. She says that B12 is difficult for vegans/vegetarians to get, so I've taken that supplement for a while. I've recently been diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia, but my doctor is pretty sure that it is not my diet that is…

Tofu is really high in protein and iron. I <3 tofu. Also, I have soy powder that I mix in drinks. Most days I get between 80 and 100 g protein.

Thanks for the info!! I will definitely try this.

Thanks for all the information!! I've got an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, I am going to ask her about Celiac.
