Not necessarily. I am vegetarian, and always get my protein requirements -- and enjoy it. Fava beans, lentils, soy milk, tofu...YUM! Just a few of the many ways to get protein. :)

I was a Catholic kid who hated fish and any other seafood all my life. Every Friday, not just during Lent, my parents made us eat fish. Baked (frozen) plain flounder with lots of bones left in. I think that contributed to my dislike of fish. It is amazing how much easier Lent is now that I'm vegetarian, LOL! ;)

Amen! I am vegetarian, almost vegan. And oddly enough, I eat more protein than I did when I was a meat-eater...but my doctor says my heart is healthier. <3

I'm vegan-- I po0p several times a day...are you getting enough vegetables?? Try eating some broccoli. All vegans I know go that often. I'm not sure if meat backs people up or we "go" because we eat a lot of veggies. But it can't hurt to eat extra veggies. :)

I'm a very happy vegetarian, working hard to be completely vegan. I have noticed that when I eat vegan, I feel so much better. And over the years, I've developed a love for most vegetables. Feel free to add me if you would like. :)

This. I've been taking it for years due to my doctor's recommendation and I really think it helps my overall health a lot. Not sure about the fat burning component...but it doesn't hurt.

Great thread! I just started walking today, mostly for cardio exercise as recommended by my doctor, but the extra calories I "earn" are kind of nice to have, too.

I'm in! I want to get in the habit of exercising 4+ days a week for 1/2 an hour.

I think I'm going to start by walking, then when I have better fitness, maybe start at the gym. I'm seriously out of shape, so getting in better shape can only help. :)
