  • Well I think I decided to do a short cut until my vacation in November. I think I've reached the breaking point where mentally I just can't handle anymore weight! I think if it weren't for vacation I would push through maybe but I would like to try and slim out just a little before we go. I will start the bulk back up in…
  • Thanks for the advice! I think you make a good point Jo in that winter is coming so why not continue a little longer? I am going on vacation in November though so it might suck having that extra weight on but if I slow it down it should be fine. I'm thinking I'm with you and another 5lbs might be all I can handle! But I'm…
  • Congrats! The power cage was hands down the best purchase we made for our home gym! Enjoy it! You'll get lots of use out if it!
  • This is a recipe for quinoa fried rice. It's delicious and serves two people at 554 calories each, 3.3g of fat, 23g of protein. Of course you can always divide it into more smaller portions too. Ingredients 1 cup quinoa 1 ½ cups water ¼ small onion, chopped 2 carrots, peeled and chopped 3 scallions, chopped and divided 3…

  • If you have stop n shop nearby, I eat the Nature's Promise Whole Wheat Bread. 90 calories, 1.5g of fat, 5g of fiber. And it tastes good!
  • I don't know what it is but I've tried the mixed grip and I feel more comfortable with the regular grip. Hopefully over time my grip will improve with these suggestions.
  • Well it's not an every day issue and it's not real bad. I've had jobs where I do a lot of typing for the past 13 years but I do use the wrist rest.
  • Thanks for all the replies! Ok I'll try those exercises to help strengthen. I do have a pullup bar so I can try hanging and I'll try holding the plates too. I think part of my problem could be a bit of carpal tunnel too. Sometimes I get the carpal tunnely feeling even when I'm gripping my steering wheel. Hopefully these…
  • That's an older pic. I should update it. I did wear gloves for a while and then did find it was better without the gloves. I will try the chalk.
  • I just got one at my job and it's the best thing ever! I'm more productive because I don't get those lulls where I want to fall asleep. I'm more energetic throughout the day and I'm also less tired by the end. Everyone who has desk jobs should have this.
  • I'm about 3 1/2 months into my bulk and I've gained about 6lbs. I plan to bulk through the summer at least. I'm eating about 2200-2300 calories a day now.
  • I agree with this. I started out just like you 5'2", 98lbs. I'm now around 104. It was definitely hard at first because I was trying to eat healthy. Most of my food during the day is but once I embraced eating ice cream which I don't even really like it helps make it easier! Don't be afraid to eat some "bad" foods to get…
  • A) What equipment do you use? Power rack Cage, multi functional trainer machine that I use for lat pulldowns, tricep push downs, etc., powerblock dumbbells, barbells, standing calf raise machine. B) Do you use any dvds, insanity, 30 day challenges etc? No DVDs. I follow a muscle building workout routine. I don't do cardio…
  • The first pic cut off a little but you get the idea.
  • I recently upped to 2100 calories after not moving in weight for a little. I'm usually around 45/25/30 carbs/fats/protein. I feel like I'm eating all the time! I lift 4 times a week, every other day, I an upper/lower split.
  • Thanks!

  • I aim for 8 hours of sleep every night with a minimum of 7. If I get any less than 7 I don't function well the next day and I fall asleep driving to and from work. My schedule depends on my husband's. When he's on the day shift we are in bed by 9 the latest and up at 4:30 every day sometimes Monday through Saturday. If…
  • I love this! I was having that low day bulking recently and this is a great reminder if why I'm doing this! I just keep reminding myself of the awesome body I'll have in the end!
  • Thanks for this! My husband actually is doing this with me except he's losing weight first. He complains of being hungry and I have these feel fat days. He supports me too though and assures me I'm not fat haha. Today I didn't feel fat so I see how it's these ups and downs. Right now I'm looking at August as my time frame.…

  • Thanks you guys! You're right I'm probably retaining water since my stomach doesn't normally look so bloated. And the one pair of pants that buttoned but were real right I just wore last week! I'm sticking with it! I just got up to 85lb Deadlift yesterday so I know I'm seeing gains! It really is a roller coaster. I see…

  • Just curious, what does your workout routine consist of?
  • This is so inspirational! You look amazing and wow your legs! I'm almost 2 months into my bulk. I'm 5'2" also but started at 98-99lbs. I've gained about 2.5lbs so far and I'm already seeing some muscle gains! I've been wanting to see more success stories and pics like this! Thanks so much for sharing!
  • I'm 5'2" and was 98lbs also. I never gained weight easily my while life and I've discovered it was because I just wasn't eating enough calories consistently to gain. Since you just started, give it some time. If you truly are eating in a surplus you will gain weight.

  • Are you actually gaining weight? Even though you say you are beating the recommended calorie intake from my fitness pal, that doesn't mean you are actually eating in a high enough surplus to gain weight. Other than my heavy lifting 3 days a week I'm not overly active either due to a sedentary job and what I actually needed…

  • This calculator helped me start. It ended being a little lower than my actual TDEE. So you can get an idea based on your specifics and activity level. http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/
  • Thanks for the link. I think I'll give it a try and see how and if it works for me.

  • I'm eating to gain. I've gained 2lbs in the past month so I'm doing well and I can see muscles coming in hat I never had. I meticulously weigh and log my foods and I was wondering about whether creatine would help. I eat chicken, fish, turkey meat or red meat in my dinners every week. Red meat maybe only once or twice a…

  • You posted the same basic question in food and nutrition. I responded with the post below. Have you figured out what your TDEE is? There are calorie calculators online that can help start you off but I found my number was higher than what the calculator told me. No one can give you a set number as everyone is different.…
  • I am 5'2" and started my journey the end of march. I weighed around 98-99lbs. I started eating in a surplus to gain half a pound a week and lifting heavy 3 times a week. I've gained 2lbs as of last week! The scale finally says 101! I can also see definite muscle coming in that was never there before. My initial plan is to…
