That's sounds really interesting, I will check into that. I have actually been working to change my general relationship with food lately- food is fuel, fat is not bad, low-cal doesn't meal healthy, etc. A while back when my ex husband and I first separated, I was so depressed/stressed out that I hardly ate. When I did, it…

I'm sure it's different for everyone, but for me, if I were to make too many changes at once I would get overwhelmed. You seem pretty well established in your new routine of healthy eating and exercise, though so this would probably be a good time. My doctor said that how much you smoked determines what type of tobacco…

I definitely agree about diet playing a larger role- any time in the past that I have lost weight it has been because of a major shift in my eating habits. I once went to the gym several times a week for 6 months and saw no change in my weight at all. I am working now to get back to good eating, but I will admit it's hard…

For my water, about half of a jug, I use half a cucumber, half a lemon and about a thumb sized piece of sliced ginger. I just tried adding mint to the water yesterday and forgot the ginger. The mint is good but I think the ginger really adds something... my water tastes kinda blah today. :frown: Thanks for all the…

I don't have specific recipes but my go-to methods for avoiding take out when I'm tired and busy are these: 1. Cook up some lean ground beef or ground turkey. Pop it in the freezer then you can add it to dishes without having to mess with browning it right before dinner. 2. Make your freezer, a crockpot and your oven your…

First of all, congrats on your loss, you look fantastic! Secondly, I lost some weight years back and was still about 15 lbs heavier than I had been in high school and people kept asking if I was sick (as in cancer or something like that). My best friend told me I looked like a bobble head. It's funny how the same numbers…

I haven't made sushi rice with sugar before. I don't know if you're using brown rice or white, but I've only ever used white. Wash the rice thoroughly, add a tiny bit more water than you normally would and it will be sticky as heck.

I agree with the above post that you might need to watch your sodium. A lot of "health" foods will contain lots of sodium and sugar to add flavor in place of fat. Don't eliminate it, of course, just make sure you aren't eating more than about 2300 mgs a day (maybe a bit less for you since you're so small). You can't pick…

Yay, it's not just me, haha! I'm the same, I found that whenever I tried to go cold turkey on my kryptonite foods (homemade cookies and French fries mainly), I tend to have a bad day and just go nuts. So I have found moderation and small portions a better way to deal. I too consider myself a huge geek, fortunately my 3…

Haha, I almost fell for one of those friend requests too! I'm a full-time Air Force civilian worker and full-time schooling mom to a 3 year old. Lost about 45 lbs a couple of years ago and have gained back 20 so here I am! Feel free to add me, I'm new here and would also love to connect with others not hawking services.…

Walk or exercise helps me when I'm anxious but when I'm angry not as much. I know it's weird that I eat then, haha. What usually goes through my mind is that my life sucks I may as well get/stay fat, not like anyone cares. I can't take my anger out on the people causing it so I guess it just turns inward. This is a new…
