Thank you :)

I think it depends on the person. There is a difference between someone who legitimately puts forth 100% effort and is experiencing a plateau and other people who eat garbage and never work out and then whine and try to get pity from the MFP community.

I would just like to say that on my rest days, my life is very inactive. I have a 9-5 desk job and I like to read when I get home, etc. Recently, I wore my chest-strap heart rate monitor to work because I was curious about just how many calories I used while sitting at my job/home on an inactive day. In the 12 hours that I…

I'm totally with you on this. The dreadmill sucks. However, I have found that putting a movie on in front of the treadmill helps. You start running and watching the movie and all of a sudden you've run over an hour.

THIS. The longer you keep looking for pity and excuses, the longer the weight will take to come off.

Check out www.mybodygallery.com... it is the same concept! You put in your weight, height, pants size or whatever and it shows you what real women with those stats look like. There is such a range; it is so cool!

Dude, you look awesome!

Even if you didn't gain any fat, if you ate food high in sodium and/or carbs, you could be retaining water... keep yourself properly hydrated, eat well and you will get rid of the water retention in a few days.

Totally could be the shoes. A good pair of running shoes usually lasts about 300-400 miles depending on how hard you use them. Also, if you over pronate (like me) or other things and your shoes aren't supportive enough for that, it can cause issues too. I would suggest getting fitted for running shoes by someone at a store…

That is basically the same idea as far as the math behind it goes... the difference with eating your exercise calories after you exercise though is that you are giving your body protein and such so it can recover. You aren't doing the same thing if you eat them before you exercise and then exercise only that amount off and…

Perfectly put! As you become more in shape, your body runs more efficiently so it takes less work (calories) for it to perform the same tasks that used to take more work. It's just like how your heart rate takes more and more time to reach high bpm as you become more fit. :)

Welcome to Phoenix!! You will love it! I am a born and raised Phoenix girl, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)

I always eat the same thing and I never get tired of it - 1 medium banana, 1 string cheese and 8 almonds.

I don't live in Yuma, but I do live in Phoenix!

Thanks!

You should check out the book "The End of Overeating"... it says the same thing and has all sorts of other interesting stuff in there too. I am reading it right now.

I am starting it on Sunday!

Jeez, you are probably one of those people that jump on everyone for saying that "muscle weighs more than fat" instead of "muscle is more dense than fat" too. It is one of those things that even though people don't say it completely scientifically correctly, people still understand what you mean. With that said, imagine…

I meant that you need to start fueling your body sooner than later to keep your metabolism running higher... of course your metabolism doesn't STOP at night.

Personally, I feel that breakfast is really important and if you can't sit down to a real meal in the morning, at least bring a protein bar or something to eat during class. The majority of the weight that I lost happened when I started eating breakfast consistently in the morning... I'm not sure if it was because my…

I go to the deli and get Sara Lee Low Sodium Oven Roasted turkey and chicken breast. Obviously not the lowest sodium thing still, but it is better than other lunch meats in packages.

I drink flavored vodkas and rums mixed with soda water! One of my favorites is Cake flavored vodka with soda water... so yummy and it is around 65 calories per ounce of vodka!

AMAZING!
