  • I don't know if there's a trick to it. Hopefully someone will answer if there is. I often cannot find a starless option. What I do, if I can't find a lot of confirmations is double check it with other sites like USDA or something or check it against my package. If the #'s match I go with it regardless of low confirmations…
  • Interesting. Glad I decided to get fit instead of quit smoking... Smoking is next on my list, though
  • Trooper -We're Here for a Good Time
  • I started a few weeks ago and I feel it. I'm not sure what types of weights you are doing, but I definitely feel the squats and presses.
  • I usually work out right after work, so several hours before bed. Except on weekends, when I usually do it in the morning. I like my evening snacks, so almost always eat something an hour or two before bed and am not hungry.
  • It's annoying to others because it hits them where they live. It's not you; it's them. Keep posting, because you are creating cognitive dissonance. People stay where they are by thinking, "It's hard." "It can't be done", etc, etc and your progress demonstrates the opposite, creating doubt in the lies they've been feeding…
  • I'm 5'2" and shooting for 130. I think that's just a little less than 9.5 stone. I had to pick some sort of goal and that puts me on the upper end of the normal range in BMI, so I went with that. When I get to about 140, I'll re-evaluate. I'm starting to lift, so if I like it and keep it up, I may worry less about the…
  • Awesome. Keep up the good work.
  • Then obviously you've never spent a winter in the north
  • Sorry, I can't help as I couldn't find one I wanted, so I went with a "regular"(?) treadmill. It takes up a large space in my tiny living room, so I feel you when you say you'd like one that folds up. I've gotten used to walking around it now, so it's all good. As far as pavement street, I do that, too....with my high…
  • I try to eat more protein on days I'm lifting and the day after lifting....which,now that I think about it, would be most days if I lift 3x a week...lol Honestly, I think I have at least one scoop of protein powder every day to help me hit my protein macro. I eat meat or greek yogourt or something with every meal, but it'…
  • I have mine at 40%....with my current calorie allowances that comes in at about 150g. Over a week of tracking I come pretty close to that....probably about 37% on average. I have started lifting, so am eating a bit more protein and a little less carbs. The trainer showing me how to lift would like to see me at more protein…
  • My playlist is pretty eclectic....I've got Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Simon and Garfunkel to Metallica and Eminem and pretty much everything in between. The last few days I've been enjoying a lot of 70's and 80's....nothing like music from my youth to keep me going. Unfortunately, I sing along (badly) on the treadmill,…
  • A couple months ago a half dozen body weight squats would leave me sore for 2 days. Now I can do a lot of them with no soreness and have started squatting with weights. If it's just your muscles rebelling from doing something new, keep it up and it will get better.
  • Reminds me of my University days
  • I'm too new to give much advice from long experience, but what I see is a lot of processed foods and a lot of sodium. Seems everyone has an opinion on eating "clean", but if what you're doing is not working, maybe try real foods and lower sodium for a while and see what happens. It has been working for me so far....not…
  • I'm feeling good about myself by meeting my goals for calories and exercise. I don't do my nails, I don't wear make-up (haven't in years), my workplace is scent free and my husband is allergic to perfume. I do have to wear professional dress at work, but I haven't bought anything new. Things are getting a little baggy, so…
  • Not yet, but my mom told me today I shouldn't go to the gym so much cuz it's not good for me. I've only been there 3 times this week lol
  • I'm PCOS, hypothyroid, insulin resistance.....the whole ball of wax. I'm not on any medications aside from synthroid for my hypothyroid. What's working for me is the same as everyone else...calorie deficit and exercise. Until a week ago, I was just doing some walking with the dog and on the treadmill. Last week I started…
  • I actually had a chocolate Lab once that was allergic to everything and I had to make his food...raw ground chicken and I grew all the veggies and squash to grind with it....that was dog love, I tell ya. I never found a toy my Great Dane wouldn't destroy in minutes and she thoroughly enjoyed doing it. My rottie never…
  • Every person reacts differently, from what I understand. I had mine out about 3 years ago and have not noticed any difference in what I'm able to eat. If I put any weight on after, it wasn't significant and likely more from my continued bad diet and overeating than my gall bladder specifically. I have a friend, however,…
  • Within my first week on here a friend invited me out for wings. I went and ate about 12 super rich buffalo wings. Got back on track the next day and have been doing pretty well since. I'll probably go out for wings again sometime, though. Just get back at it and you'll be fine
  • How many calories per day is that? It doesn't seem like much. 70lb by Sept is about 17lb per month. That seems too much to me for you to feel good and avoid loose skin that comes with quick loss. I'd say your profile indication to do it by the end of the year is more realistic and sustainable.
  • I'd say you should find someone to help you for a few sets. I don't think anyone here can guess what you can lift without watching you or assessing you in person. I'm no expert as I just started learning yesterday with someone. Yesterday we did about 6 different things to gauge more or less where I was at for ability to…
  • Perogies, ham, sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and a piece of chocolate cake cuz it's also my hubby's birthday.......and later this evening a couple mini Cadbury creme eggs Amazingly all within my calorie allowance, though I was prepared to go a bit over if the cake didn't fit the #'s. Portion control is awesome.…
  • It may help to know where you are going, where you are staying, and what kind of vacation it is. If you're staying with friends, managing will be different than if you're in a time share, which will be different than staying in a hotel. The type of activities you have planned will make a difference, too. I went on vacation…
  • In from Canada here, too. I don't have many male friends, so feel free to add me. You've got a great start so far, so keep it up. I find watching the feeds of my friends who are logging their food and exercise inspires me to be accountable and do better. Best of luck to you.
  • It's not for me and I'd be concerned that if you can't make the time to plan meals and exercise now, you will not make the time when you're done using Roca, which will result in gaining it back. I don't have much free time and work long days, too, but I have to make the effort to make my loss sustainable. That said, to…
  • You're wasting a lot of calories on swiss cheese. Eat more filling foods like chicken breast, sweet potatoes, wild rice, etc. I'd have some serious growlies if half my calories wen't to 8 slices of cheese.
