I'm sorry the sleeve experience hasn't been a good one for you. I can't honestly say I feel that way. Stalls definitely cause me stress too. I also have moments where a dripping chocolate fudge cake would make me happier than beef strips. But for me, I will cry it from the rooftops. I feel privileged to have had this…

I'm really sorry if you felt this post targeted slow losers in a negative way. It's actually contrary to its intended purpose. Tbh I think 44 down at 2.5 month's out is not really what I would term slow losing. My concern was Mir directed at wondering why the wl specialists don't encourage us to aim higher than their stats…

Kipperdoodle1....only a matter of days. Your life will change for the better,,,better than you can imagine.

Good luck for today's surgery.

Well done!!!!! It is great!! I popped back over for a few days (up a little, down a little more) but now I am well in at 196 and have no intention of going back.

Great NSV!!! I have two daughters, one is tiny and one is a bigger girl. I still cannot get anywhere near my smaller daughters size 10's,,3-4 sizes too small still. But I am starting to pass on my larger sizes to my other daughter. As much as I love that I am losing the weight it reminds me that she still faces some weight…

Thanks Kglowins. Wow, I wasn't expecting to go to 1200 for a long time. I have only really started activity as I suffer from arthritis and some months I am just not up to it often but it is getting better with more weight loss. When I do use the treadmill though I gain a few hundred calories for the day so my deficit is…

I am pretty good at this tbh. I use measuring spoons, cups and scales for every meal that I have at home. I rarely eat out. So far my stalls have been limited to less than two weeks at a time, generally only a week. Today I tried a ricotta pancake recipe. Problem faced was calculating the dry pancake mixture I had to add,…

Well this one is right down my alley so to speak. I am a relationship therapist. I can assure you that if one partner views the weight loss as a negative, then yes there is a higher chance of separation. However there are very few challenges relationships cannot weather if BOTH people want to and if they are willing to…

Everybody is different and tbh every weight loss I have had seems different. I have been this weight before but swear not at the same size as I am now. I am between a 16-18 (AU) but the last time I was this weight I was a bigger size than this. Maybe the clothes have changed but I really do feel smaller than an 18 right…

Hmmm,,I have been lucky and only thrown up a few times since surgery (last one a few days ago). However it is not pleasant so I feel for you. My enemy food is chicken, which I love so I tend to eat it a little too fast. I know when I am going to throw up though. I get a little pain and then the saliva in my mouth goes nuts…

Your doing so well. I am in awe of your pre op attitude. I only met my requirements when I had to during the pre liquid diet. I admire how much effort you are putting in to get ready. :-D

I think it is common to have pre surgery fears. It is also common to reconsider during pre surgery weight loss phase. A time where you get to see your weight loss ability without surgery. If successful as you have been why would you not wonder whether you were capable of complete weight loss on your own? However you can…

The first several weeks were painful for me eating and drinking. It will get better, I promise.

Congratulations. A huge goal reached. Just lingering above that right now so appreciate the big deal in reaching under 200. Be proud.

In Australia, VSG and band are more common than bypass. They do bypass but only over certain weights. 80% are VSG now though. I chose to go os for mine in India in the end and they also prefer VSG. I noticed on a weight loss show recently that in the US they seem to do a lot of bypass procedures. I have yet to hear them…

Such great NSV's. Your right, people without weight problems do take simple things in life for granted. I am trying to avoid going back to taking things for granted so that I don't forget the struggle I face not just daily but by the minute. We are having a huge clean out as my children have all left home and we have…

No specific rewards for exact weights. I find when I have a goal it can be so near,,then have me hanging for a few days o more to reach it. But I do have a 100lb loss goal before going back os to Asia. We will be doing flight of the gibbons which I did last year, but there were areas that I was unable to do. Not this time.…

I was hoping not to offend with my remark. Hence the ' can be' component. But it can be quite boggling at times:-)

OMG this happened to me last Saturday night when I went with my old friend to a concert. I had not told him about the surgery and he had seen me not long before. So I was excited anticipating a WOW you look amazing. I got a love your hair. It had not changed. About an hour later he said "those glasses really suit you". I…

Well done Dezbie. So glad for you. Now your exciting journey begins. During the healing phase I would mistake healing pains for hunger pains. I thought about food a lot. But it does settle. As your body changes new adventures come up and take your mind elsewhere. Just last night whilst grocery shopping I actually stopped…

This is probably my biggest challenge tbh. I don't do this well but I am improving. The liquid can create slider foods I guess and that is definitely something we need to avoid. I still have sips but working on better timing.

Great to hear you can keep it down. I have had pumpernickel bread twice since surgery and have not found myself craving it. My weak foods are chocolate and potato chips so I have to avoid those. But bread for some people is ok within limits. As you go through each day you learn more about your bodies needs. Mine tells me…

At 6 weeks I was eating but still only getting soft foods and about 300 calories. Now I can get my 800 but generally about 600-700 daily. I am 44 and lose on average 12-15 lb monthly. I have had the occasional social outing indulgence and I have had a couple of stalls. Basically it all depends on your nutritionists…

I am 4 months post op in 5 days. I started at 280lb. Liquid diet 15 days took me to 271 day of surgery. Today I am 207. I have light exercise still due to arthritis. Should increase soon. I have a short term goal of 100lb loss by the end of October. Long term goal however is approx reaching a maintenance weight of 140lb.…

March 6th for me. 72 lb down. Really happy. Rarely do people ask me 'how' I have done it,,but today someone did. I answered truthfully. This is how it went. Friend : " You have lost a lot of weight!" I agreed. They asked "What are you doing?" I replied "I had surgery in March as it had just gotten too hard to lose the…

Tonight I made an old favourite, Souvlaki. Not sure what they are called elsewhere. My husbands was on a herbed up full calorie wrap, mine was on a low calorie barley wrap. Oh yum. Beef and Pork strips cooked in a little olive oil, garlic (of course), onoins, capsicum, salt,,,all fried up. Lettuce, tomato, fresh capsicum,…

The answer is YES you will. but instead of eating the way we used to, the way that guided us to our problem, you will eat like a thinner person. You can have popcorn, pizza, really anything you want,,,BUT not as often as you used to. More like the days when these things were treats not staple foods. You will also make…
