Wow--thank you everyone. I feel a LOT better. I'm a big fan of diet coke (and this stuff tastes like a dead ringer for it) and I do try and stay hydrated. It's actually a crutch of mine. I get dehydration headaches/aches way too often. Looks like I made a good purchase! THANK YOU ALL!

I have read that thread, but I've also read stuff like what the previous poster said about insulin and that's why I'm worried. I don't remember reading about that. Maybe I didn't look close enough in the thread?

Thanks for the input guys. My goal here isn't really to stop eating that stuff, it's to stop NEEDING to eat it. Even if it's just a mental thing or a habit, I really don't want to keep thwarting my health and my wallet by constantly buying sugary/chocolaty dessert foods. Does that make this "going cold turkey" idea seem…

That's a REALLY great question. I'm not entirely sure yet. I'm thinking new wardrobe, maybe a photoshoot by some photographically inclined friends...I'm especially excited to get out of the prediabetic zone and maybe be able to stop wearing my CPAP though. I think those rewards along with some new clothes would be…

Look!! A comic about me!!! I'm ashamed to say I don't get the half whovian one though...

Win. All the win.

People are a) afraid/intimidated by intelligence and ideas because it makes them feel bad about themselves for not having those thoughts. They feel inferior and don't want to. Also because b) being an intellectual--one who enjoys thinking and ideas--takes work. It means not taking the easy route.

Dude's gonna have to deal with me being in a sleeveless tee and "pants." He'd like me anyway though.

Ok, I'm gonna read through this more thoroughly during my next homework, break but I wanted to answer a few things really quickly: I am not an early riser as well--I usually go to bed between 2 and 4 and wake up at 11:30. I do indeed exercise--I walk and I'm also doing some interval jogging. I do eat the extra calories!…

Height: 5'5 Weight: 251 Goal Weight: 150? 145? Weekly weight loss: 2 lbs if possible You're right, I haven't been on here long. I'm a life long body-hater, but just figuring out how to cook at home with my S.O. and eat in a way I'll be happy with for life, not just for weight loss. :) As to the name--thanks! I love my…

I think its a combination of not eating enough and not having as much left to burn. The closer you get to goal the harder it is to drop the weight! I would recommend eating at least your daily limit if not also some of your exercise calories. If nothing else, playing around with adding more calories into your diet can…

Be able to walk or sit or look in the mirror without having any particular body part feel/look icky. Like the extra roll on my inner thighs. Ridiculous. Also be able to go shopping at my favorite clothing stores without feeling like crying every time I come out of the dressing/fitting rooms empty handed.

I have thought about #1 a lot. If I was a millionaire, I'd hire someone for an ugly-large amount of money, and tell them both my calorie allowance and what foods I DIDN'T like. Then I'd tell them I wanted 2-3 meals a day, cook them whenever you want as in-advance as you want. I'm not too proud to defrost ****. If only.

I don't know if you can even find these anymore, but I wouldn't recommend an electronic scale. Mine is relatively new and has been known to give me three different weights if I step on it 3 different times. Very frustrating!

Gluten isn't harmful unless you have Celiacs--an (autoimmune?) disease that makes you sick with flu-like symptoms whenever you have gluten. They just came out with new research debunking the usefulness of gluten-free living if you are otherwise healthy.

How charming of you. When you lost your weight did part of it come from your soul?

No worries!

I'm 5'5 and 251! The trick, I've found, is both patience and knowing how to finesse the "rules" of weight loss. For instance, they say that having a community is extremely important to weight loss, but I'm a serious introvert so I thought that wouldn't help me. But then I found MFP and made a few connections in a style…

I have legit been creeped out by both my own shadow(s) and (obviously weeping) statues of people now that I'm a Whovian. ..... Worth it.

This was the best idea I ever had.

WHY ISN'T THE WHOLE WORLD LIKE THIS??

Is he saying that to the fans? DID THE DOCTOR JUST SAY HE LOVES ME??????

I had the same problem, although I am not morbidly obese, I'm "just" obese. I asked the same question of my friends and was recommended to try interval training (which might be what a Cto5K is). I did a 20 minute work out, jogging insanely, unabashedly slow for 1 minute and walking for a minute. It worked great for me.…

My initial loyal reaction is YOU TAKE THAT BACK HEATHENS. But everyone has the right to be wro--I mean, have their own opinions. ;) I actually just wanted to say that while I love Rose, I love Donna just slightly more. Possibly because it was an uncomplicated, loving friendship which was more relaxing to watch. Also that…

I'm game. I think we should start with once a week just to warm up. I can post some links to streaming sites for shows we can't get on Netflix.
