finally got my first May run in yesterday! 5/4: 3.63 miles

I use HIIT Interval Training Timer - it's free and does allow you to save workouts. I have an android phone, though, so not sure if available on apple devices.

54 miles - if I reach the goal, that means I've been sticking to my half-marathon training plan

slow poke here! when training for a half marathon earlier this year, my pace was a full minute and a half slower than the slowest pacer group they offered. it was something that i stressed about in the beginning, but once i could see that there was zero judgment from the group about how fast i was going i started to own my…

I used to feel the same way - I'd run for 5 minutes and my lungs would be on fire. I was convinced that I simply wasn't cut out for running. It wasn't till I tried c25k that I was able to run any kind of distance without feeling like I was going to keel over. The run/walk combination eases you into completing the distance…

same here! i've never been overweight or pregnant, but when puberty hit and my hips grew the stretch marks came with them. the nice thing is that since i've had them so long, they've always felt like a natural part of my body - not like something i've had to hide or be ashamed of.

Hi! I'm training for the San Francisco half marathon in July. This will be the second half that I've trained for, but hopefully the first I will complete (injured my foot a few days before my first half and was unable to race). My advice - you have 6 months, use that time well! Don't wait till 16/12 weeks or whatever plan…

i'm personally a fan of gummies/chews. throughout my half training i used honey stinger chews (sierra trading post had them on mega-clearance, probably because they had lance armstrong on the packages) - i'd rip the top of the package and keep it in the zipper pouch of my water bottle. i liked that i could eat a few at a…

last spring i took TRX classes in preparation for Tough Mudder - i thought they were great, and my upper body strength improved a lot (was able to graduate from knee push-ups to toe after a few weeks - i'd never been able to do that before). if you have a chance to take a class, i'd take advantage of it. or at least look…

congrats! signing up is the first step of the journey. good call on joining a training group; i found that the support and camaraderie i experienced from my half-marathon group was invaluable. i never would've made it through those long saturday runs without them!

i've owned a flex since the end of last year. if you're looking for something that can give you immediate feedback about how much you're moving around, then this will be perfect for you. as far as walking/running goes, i'd say the fitbit is pretty accurate. you input your weight/height/level of activity and the site…

i used endomondo for quite a while, but it was kind of buggy (at least on my phone) and would drop GPS signal a lot. they also took away a lot of the cool free features and that lessened the appeal. for the past 6 months i've been using runkeeper, and haven't had any issues - really easy interface, and syncs with MFP.…

Wow, i'm in awe of your walking skills! I'm running my first half marathon this Sunday and can barely keep a 13:30 pace. Keep up the good work

I am living proof that c25k works! Started out barely being able to run for a minute, but was able to work my way through the program with some work buddies of mine. Ran my first 5k in 2011, and I'll be running my first half marathon this Sunday. I never in a million years thought that I could be a runner, but here I am! I…

just started this last week - 5 day streak! would be nice to have some friends here too. add me!

Hey everyone! I'm running my first half mary race on 3/23 (Oakland Running Festival). My goal is to finish in under 3 hours. Training? I joined a running group, and that really helped with the weekend long runs. I had a hard time sticking to the weekday plan, though. Some weeks I only got the long run in. I'm actually more…

I'm not doing it this year, but did Tahoe 2013. You're in for a fun ride! Its a good thing you've started training, you'll need every last bit of it. Some things I learned last year: * Strength is important, but don't forget your endurance. I was so worried about not being able to get myself over walls that I put almost…
