I've got a few favorites: 1) German Shepard - had a beautiful white one when I was a child and have fond memories 2) Sheltie - My family has had three shelties and they were always the most loving dog - & one of them saved me from rattlesnake bite as a child. (We set a new land/speed record getting him to the vet and he…

James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser (fictional character, but why not)

I bet that's it. I love that feature though. I don't even care if it's "spot on" or not. It helps motivate me. It's really nice when I'm right at my target or a smidge under. It's also a help that even on days where I've gone a bit over and started to feel a bit down - I see that even if every day was like this it wouldn't…

You're doing great! Welcome to MFP. Keep up the good work.

I work into my daily calorie count most things I want to eat - I've had an ice cream cone and not gone over for the day. Sometimes I'm a little over and it's ok or I try to do enough exercise to offset. I'm going to allow myself to go over (within reason) on special meals - For example, birthday dinner, Thanksgiving,…

I liked that one - watch the old ones on Amazon sometimes.

That's great! That's not that small of distance. I'll be counting it as a major NSV when I'm able to run 1 mile without stopping - if I survive doing it. Keep up the good work.

It was wonderful. Can't wait to see the rest of the season.

That's wonderful! Keep up the good work and best wishes for a speedy recovery from your surgery.

I've been holding out so I can watch it on the bigger/better TV screen than my old computer monitor - but it's so hard. Can't wait until tomorrow night. I've already told my husband he can ask anything he wants before it starts and anything he wants when it's over - but he can't make sound during the show.

Red's a good color for you. You look great and you should be proud of all your hard work and the courage it took to do something outside your comfort zone. I have at one time joined every gym in my hometown and I mostly stuck to the treadmill or the pool. Maybe someday I'll go back and try the full experience.

My theory is that it works in reverse of the way you gained - as in my gut was the first thing that got big as I gained and one of the last things to get bigger with weight gain was my breasts. --- So now that I'm losing it'll probably show in my face some, but the "girls' will lose before the gut does.. Boo!

As another Texan, I agree it's way to HOT to exercise outside in the summer. You can try doing inside exercises that don't need any equip - push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, jog in place, turn on some music and dance - you can use household items as weights (can of soup, empty milk jug filled with water etc. There are a…

Congrats on the 20 lbs. Don't forget you're still trying to lose 20 more - slow down the shopping so you can do more as that last 20 come off.

Breakfast - usually 7-7:30 a.m. (except on weekends - then a bit later) Lunch - Noon Dinner - 7:00 p.m. Snack or sweet - whenever the mood strikes and I have enough calories for it.

Mostly routine with a little variety thrown in for spice. I find that if I get to much variety I go overboard, but if I have the same types of things most of the time and have a little something different from time to time I'm more apt to stay where I need to be calorie/weight wise.

1 turkey patty sausage, 1/2 English muffin, and 1 hard boiled egg, with Crystal lite fruit punch packet in water - 200 calories.

Congrats! Don't forget to log the exercise from doing your happy dance.

Saving for later - sounds good.

^^^^This! Especially that last part.

Very nice NSV - enjoy every minute of it!

Congrats! It's a big deal and I can't imagine anyone not thinking so (unless maybe they were only ever a pound or two outside Onederland's gates). I hope to join you there sometime early in 2015.

I work in an accounting office so during tax season I'm sitting at a desk around 10hrs a day. Already not good for your health - and then everyone tries to make the long hours and stressful work better by feeding the accountants. Our break room fills up with donuts, pastries, cookies. The office manager will send out for…

It seems reasonable if you want to try - I'd just make sure to check in at least weekly so if you start to slip up you can catch/correct before it goes too far.

I am sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in good memories of your father. As for the gain, you know how to lose the weight, since you've already done it once. You're taking the steps you need to get your eating/exercise back on track. Best of luck to you.

Howdy from Kerrville! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Too cute. Name suggestion: Charlie Don't know why but it's what popped into my head when I saw his pic - so there you have it.

All of them are really good. I love the characters Diana's created and the way she tells their story. I will admit to some amount of skimming over some of the slower sections in some of the later books, but I inevitably go back and read every last word because it all does tie in and weave back around to make some point…
