  • Sometimes we learn MORE from our mistakes then we do from being perfect. Every day is a new day, and as long as you don't let those kind of days become a habit....it's no big deal. In fact, if we cut ourselves a little slack from time to time, we don't feel "uber" deprived and we have an easier time staying on track…
  • I'd say that 4 lbs a month is def. realistic. B/c that's an average of 1 lb a week lost. It all depends on how many calories you are consuming a day. What do you have your daily calorie target set to? I think when you're IN the normal range trying to get to the lower end of the normal range, your weight loss slows down a…
  • (Non-scale victory) meaning...someone complimenting you on your looks, your pants fitting looser then they did before, etc.... Congrats. You will continue to make progress on your weight loss journey....sometimes a NSV can be just as good if not better then a SV (scale victory)
  • I would stay clear of pills. I don't know how good they are for you. I have never personally tried weight loss pills but I think the best way to lose weight is take things one day at a time. I know you probably had your heart set on losing 40 lbs by July....but you want to lose weight the smart way. You will probably get…
  • MiO, MiO, MiO.....that's your solution. I used to drink Crystal light but even though I loved it, it still had a low calorie value, like 10 or so calories for a packet. Now that I've tried MiO I love it. It's a little tiny squeeze bottle (you can find it right next to Crystal light in the grocery store) and you just squirt…
  • Only when you manually adjust it will it change. Right now I have my settings at 1.5 lbs/lost a week...and it gives me 1320 a day. You can still easily see a loss at 1400-1500 cal a day. If you need to lose weight a little more slowly, just so you feel satisfied I say try that for a while. There is no sense in depriving…
  • Hey, I started my weight loss through Weight Watchers (I still have a subscription) I only recently added MFP to the mix. I started losing weight Jan 10, 2010 at 228 lbs....I got down to 198 lbs by April 18, 2010. So around 3 months.
  • I weigh myself every day just out of curiousity but I only record my weight from every Sunday. So to answer your Q about how often to "record" your weight, I would say only once a week. It's the most accurate. Your weight will bounce all over along the course of a week and it might be discouraging if you are tracking daily…
  • I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray, tastes like butter.....at least I think it does. The first ingredient is Soy Bean Oil. It's delicious and it'll help your spices stick better.
  • You are moving in a very positive direction. You look amazing and the one thing I love about your current "after" picture is that you're smiling really big. I know in another few months you'll have made even more progress and you'll be grinning from ear to ear. Weight loss can be tough at times but we've just got buckle…
  • You look like a whole new individual! You should be so proud of yourself. Not a lot of people can proudly say they've lost 100 lbs. I know you'll continue on your weight loss journey until you reach goal. There is no stopping you!!
  • Good job. Your waist is smaller and those shorts look quite a bit looser on you now. :-D Thumbs up, way to go!
  • Yes. A calorie is a calorie, however as you brought up taking things such as sodium, carb intake, blah blah blah can be useful and beneficial to your health. Like you I am a busy student and I'm working so I don't have time to sit there and monitor my protein/carb/sodium etc. I just want to count calories, period. The only…
  • So I ended up trying this snack tonight and it was pretty delicious. 1 tsp of cinnamon might be a little much for 1/2 an apple but if you don't mind all the cinnamon then load it on! I ended up buying Archer Farms Vanilla Almond granola and used 1/4 cup to top my apple slices with. It turned out really good.
  • What did you get instead? Um....I cut back on my morning calories by eating a frozen breakfast 220 cal vs my usual egg mcmuffin 300 cal. That saved me quite a few calories!
  • I don't think it's a comprehensive upperbody workout. But I do think if you're a beginner and don't normally lift weights then SOMETHING is better then nothing, esp. if you're doing it for 6 minutes straight a day, 7 days a week. I asked the same thing in another thread and didn't get many responses. My sister has the…
  • Sounds like a sweet low calorie snack. Where do you get your granola from? I like really crunchy granola....like...have you ever tried Starbucks Fruit & Yogurt Parfaits? I LOVE the granola they use. I wish I could find something like that somewhere....
  • No one, I repeat no one should have to deal with emotional abuse. I understand your worry of divorcing him in fear that you might not be able to financially support yourself but your mental health is pretty darn important. From the way you described it, it sounds like your husband is verbally abusive on a regular basis. I…
  • It is true. You're absolutely right. You're going to get different attention from different kinds of people when you're "thinner" then when you're heavier. I remember back in high school & post-high school for a few years when I was a normal weight. I *felt* personally that people approached me more easily & I felt like…
  • WTG you've done a great job. Not a lot of people can say they've accomplished that kind of weight loss. Give yourself a nice big pat on the back. I hope you bought yourself something really nice!!
  • Wow....wow....I don't even know what to say. I'm speechless. Ok....I do know what to say. You look like a whole different person. WTG you have done an awesome job!!
  • Great job! You look like a million bucks! You have rocked it!
  • I felt that way too at first. Very tired and run down. Make sure you're not over-calculating certain foods and you are eating as many calories as it says you're suppossed to. Remember to stay hydrated and eat power foods: plenty of veggies & fruit, protein and so on....eat many small meals as oppossed to few large meals.…
  • I like that "Choose to succeed or choose to fail." The first time I ever heard someone say that "You're fat because you are choosing to be." I was sort of taken aback by the comment but after it slowly sunk in I realized, you know....I am who I am because I CHOOSE to be this way. I will choose to succeed. I currently don't…
  • Never thought to do dips in a chair. I've seen them featured in tons of workout magazines. I'll probably only be able to do like 2 my first time! haha but that's ok....it's worth a shot.....good suggestion.
  • I have the 30 Day Shred & I am so out of shape that it absolutely kills me to do it. I am SO sore that I can barely move the next day lol. I really need to build up my endurance. But that's a good suggestion you're right, thank you.
  • I try to eat a pretty decent breakfast & dinner w/ a snack after dinner.....while I'm at school I eat a Clif Bar or Power Bar (that I brought from home) and my MiO . I'll buy a bottle of water and add the flavoring to it. It doesn't sound like much but it holds me through until the day is over & then I come home and eat my…
  • What's done is done....we all do silly things from time to time. We're only human after all. I agree consuming tons of calories through liquids is never the best idea but it happens and we all do it. Just get right back on track and forgive yourself. One day off plan isn't going to result in a lifetime of failure I…
  • That's one thing I would love to define more. My status shows I've only lost 7 lbs but that is through MFP alone. Before this I did WW last year and lost 35 lbs, so I've lost a little over 40 as of now....I remember after I had went from 200-something to 100-something I started to notice them again and it was an…
  • Girl, you should be so proud of yourself. *round of applause* :-D
