@Elise4270 Walking Boot, lots of swelling even after a week and yes I believe you got 100%. Although I never actually asked what the "official" description was.

@Avidkeo Just for you, a pic of my friends ankle after meeting some ice while out for a run with a group. They hit the ice - slid off the trail and his shoe hit solid ground and stopped but the rest of his body kept moving.

6km Westbrook Shorty on Sunday Morning. When you get involved in a conversation and then realize you have walked a full km you know your average pace will be very slow. We have had 3 Dog Incidents already this spring - 1 dog bite ( minor physical injuries, psychological a little bigger and she has dogs ) , 2 dogs have…

The one semi-local group that I am involved with made the Canadian Trail Running list Triple Terrain Trail Trekkers Group from Grande Prairie. Half of them are in Jasper this weekend for the Jasper HM. I believe @JessicaMcB might know the Edson and Hinton groups. Ironically the lead picture for the Lethbridge Trail Runners…

That means you now have a Serial Number, not just a Social Security/Tax Number. You should see if you can get a small copy of your x-ray/cat scan that way when you go through airport security and all the alarms go off you can show them why. @Avidkeo Like your comment about running life bleeding into work around shoe…

15km struggle. Out with 3 others and they were doing a 2km run/100m walk which really helped me today. Just one of those days where my body wasn't happy from the first step. Discomfort at top of left foot/bottom of shin above the laces, which took 3 km to loosen up and disappear. Legs still felt heavy after tuesday's Trail…

@amymoreorless I am right there with you @martaindale That has to be the best low key comment I have read in a long time. @jele30 Some times it's just about impossible to truly keep up to everything/every person on this thread. That's why occasionally you just have to jump forward and give a blanket accolade. We do get a…

Way behind on checking in and supporting my fellow ATHLETE"S. Kudo's to all who get out and log some distance, any distance is good distance. 2km swim - Followed by a 11.5km Trail Run with Phil ( Ultra Runner - Cdn Death Race/Sinister 7 etc.) from Grande Prairie. Legs are well wupped. A great evening. Outbound at 1930 and…

A little short 5km with Running Club friends on Sunday morning. Just wasn't feeling it. Legs were tired from Saturday's 11km hill Climb. The bottom of my shins/top of ankle were a little tender due to "too much to fast" syndrome - since the hills just opened up ie snow/ice have melted down to where they are now passable.

@kayak4water Smart choice to pull over and grab a nap. I live in northern Canada and 5-6 hr drives are the normal thing when traveling. Like you I stop at places that offer facilities and a secure spot to get a few winks in, ironically Hotel Parking lots are the best during the day, quiet with very little traffic, good…

2 Runs so far in April. 9 km on April 1st - monday evening with friends exploring some new trails. Some walking due to terrain challenges and ice. 11 km today - Double Hill Climb. I got a late start so everyone was gone when I hit the start. Turns out they changed the planned route - reversed it so I ran into them at the…

ASC last night. ????m. Lost track Lots of endurance drills, Sprint sets on top of sprint sets with pyramids mixed in. The water was cooler today but still not cool enough to allow a really hard progression - after 30mins I was starting to tank from body heat building. By the end I was well wupped.

@Elise4270 is to kind @7lenny7 is far more qualified/experienced for trail running, mine's more of a controlled slog :D I actually have 3 differant trail shoes in my collection: Saucony Peregrine 8's ( Softest sole/foot bed of my trail shoes-gore tex for winter and cloth/poly for summer. Yes cramps of any type are no fun in the water. That just sounds horrible @fishgutzy the way it pulls your toes. I have an old calf injury that can flair up and cause cramps, grab a rope and pull myself to the shallow water to get a slooow stretch. I usually get toe cramps if the pool is warm or we are doing an extended or…

This ^^^ and the words are just not coming. To @ContraryMaryMary , @Avidkeo , other New Zealanders and anyone in the Muslim communities all across the world. This was the actions of one person and does not reflect on the true nature of New Zealand, Australia or other countries in the world..... I spent 4.5 months…

Saturday 10km Manzer Avenue Hill Climb. We have had to adjust our route to a differant portion at the top of the hill as at 4.2km the rural residence has a new dog, he's a beautiful super friendly Golden Retriever/Lab cross - just a big puppy. Unfortunately as soon as he see's us he charges out and joins in for the run and…

5km easy Wednesday night club run. On Saturday and Sunday we were at -20C today +8C. Lots of melting, streets and trails are a real dangerous mess, soft snow, smush, waterpuddles and slick ice hiding underneath all of it just waiting for an oblivious runner. Vehicles traveling down the streets are throwing up huge curtains…

@lporter229 Hope you can get out ( defer) your Jury Duty. Obviously this is a pre-planned/pre paid Family Vacation ;) ;) that you can't cancel without great Financial burden. Therefore you would not be able to concentrate properly to be an effective Jurist. or show up in very ratty "Garden Clothes" that are dirty and…

@MobyCarp I like ^^. We all have to recognize what type of event we enjoy doing. I don't enjoy the long road distances (marathon+) the same thing on a bush trail I enjoy, i'm not good at them but I have a lot of fun being average. My first two events of the year are in May and they are both HM bush bashing trails, one…

@katharmonic Spartan/Obstacle Course Races are supposed be be fun and challenging, exactly what you experienced, Well done. You had a snow slide, we setup a water slide at our local OCR in September. Because we had such a horrific February ( 27km running in Feb) it's like I am back at a building stage. Since I have now…

@girlwithcurls2 As @kayak4water said basic time in the pool is more important than stressing over exactly how many laps you do. I have 2 3 types of swims. Family & Friends lots of Water slide tests, Inner tube Water polo, etc. Straight lane swim - try to get 40 lengths in but quite often I lose count - its usually during…

Not 3800m, not even close to that impressive high intensity workout 1600m warmup 100 pull, 100 kick, 100 scull pull/catch drills with paddles (they irritate my left hand where I broke it back in 1988) 2 x 50 - 5 stroke breathing ie long and slow pulls 2 x 50 - 4 str brth 2 x 50 - 3 str brth 2 x 50 - 2 str brth - faster…

@7lenny7 26+ one mile loops - That sounds better than the "Diamond Marathon" but I still prefer a no loop event - except for the start/finish chute. @Avidkeo Definitely get the mixer and then Spoiler pictures of your cakes - ingredient list for those with baking skills. @Elise4270 Thinking of you and your surgery. You…

@rhaiin Great advice and support from everyone above. Especially the Repeat weeks as you feel necessary. Visit a running specific shoe store ( not Walmart or Joes we do everything store ) where they will do a Gait Analysis ( watch you walk barefoot and then a short run on the in-store treadmill while doing a video of foot…
