My sister had mood issues with one pill, switched to a different one and is fine. I'm on a generic version of Alesse, and have never experienced any bad side effects at all. But if I had an uncomfortably increased appetite, I'd definitely talk to my doctor and try something new.

It all depends on you! Lots of people here eat a vast majority of their calories at one time, and they're okay for the whole day. Some people like big breakfasts and small dinners, some people barely eat in the morning at all and have big meals at the end of the day, and people like me are munching small things all day…

Personally I would try to eat responsibly WITHOUT logging or weighing for the week (for me that includes eating only until I'm full, not snacking continuously just to taste things, having salads with meals when possible, avoiding french fries or deep fried stuff - just my general best intentions whenever I'm unable to…

Also Taco Bell offers a "fresco" menu (I think that's what it's called?) where they replace the beans and cheese on certain menu items with a salsa. Shredded chicken tacos done that way are awesome in a pinch while you're on the go.

Agreeing with anywhere that posts calorie info online. I'm going to a restaurant tonight that only has 2 locations and finding info on anything there is basically impossible, so I'm improvising :| . However, in the past I've always relied on places that offered fish fillets (salmon, tilapia - not fried) with fresh veg and…

I have a day off today, so I slept in - which means a late breakfast where I can boost the amount of calories as it's practically lunch time now :). Planning on a piece of 12 grain toast, half an avocado mashed and drizzled with sriracha, with spinach and an egg on top. Then some Greek yogurt, strawberries, and coffee (1…

sleep is definitely important. I am ravenous when I'm sleep deprived.

Hmm. I eat 1400-1600 per day and always feel quite full. My typical workday schedule looks like: 1.) Toast and cream cheese, a banana, a coffee 6:30am 2.) Coffee 8:30am 3.) A Special K Nourish bar, or a Kashi bar 10-11am 4.) Lunch is either a ww tortilla with canned chicken and salsa and spinach, or a lean meat sandwich on…

I eat a piece of toast and chocolate cream cheese, with a banana for breakfast around 6:30am. I get hungry about 2 hours later, and have a coffee. Then I eat a dark chocolate bar of some kind (Kashi chia bar, or a Special K Nourish most days) at 10ish. That holds me off until lunch, especially if I get in a lot of water.…

BINGO :) I would definitely not recommend doing exclusively that, but it's such a great way to discover that "good" food and "bad" food is kind of BS. No need to feel guilt over eating something "bad" that you have the calorie allowance for. It was such a revelation for me, because I used to beat myself up over succumbing…

I'm at 176, goal 135 (similar to you). Eating 1500 - 1600 per day and very happily losing 1.5 lbs/week. I can eat up to 1800 and lose 1 lb per week, so I feel so flexible. 3 lbs a week is way too much for me. You're looking to make changes you can stick with forever, which includes making all your favourite treats fit into…

Chicken shawarma and some falafel. I had a VERY busy and physically exhausting day at work, so I splurged a little and went a teeny bit over :P

I'm so lame on mornings where I work at 7am. 12 grain toast, 16g chocolate cream cheese, 5g natural peanut butter. With a banana, and a coffee (1 sweetener, 1/2 cup unsweetened cashew milk). I eat it on the drive to work hahah :(
-
The food scale is what did it for me :). It's impossible to truly measure things like peanut butter by tbsp. They are so calorie dense that even a few grams makes a huge difference. Good luck!! It's a little weird and time consuming at first, but you hit a rhythm real fast and it becomes second nature. I cook with a pen…

I HAVE noticed that drinking more water helps me snack LESS. I got a cute Contigo water bottle that I enjoy drinking out of, and a whole bunch of Mio flavours that I switch up all day, and I get less peckish if I commit to drinking 750ml 3-4 times a day. It tastes like juice, which satisfies me more than plain water. That…

My diary is set to 1550. I try to eat between 1400-1600, but I'm flexible. I have it set to lose 1.5 lbs per week, but I can still lose 1lb if I go up to 1800 calories.

Use an app like Libra to graph your daily weight, and show the overall downward trend. I weigh right in the morning after going to the washroom. Every day. And this app truly keeps me sane through the daily fluctuations.

Ugghhh the Kirkland natural pb is almost too good to resist!! To be good, I put 5g on top of 16g of chocolate cream cheese on bread and it tastes like a peanut butter cup. I also looovve pumpkin seed butter on toast, drizzled with honey.

Hahah I do the same! Even with the cashew milk I put in my coffee.

Whole wheat tortilla, with Costco canned chicken breast mixed with 2 tbsp salsa. Topped with baby spinach. Water with Mio flavouring. A packet of 100 calorie Snappea Crisps and a Greek yogurt cup.

I take a break from logging on holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving, and just eat a sensible amount the best I can manage. Also a fan of cheat MEALS vs whole days. And if I get a burger, I stay away from fries and get a salad with it.

For me it depends. I weigh rice cooked because we make a big batch at a time, veggies raw, meat raw (unless I cook a big pork tenderloin and take a small bit off for myself)... I just make sure to try to pick the correct database entry.

Oh also, today for lunch I mixed a third of a can of Kirkland chicken breast with 2 tbsp salsa, and put it on a whole wheat 120cal tortilla with spinach leaves and diced tomatoes. That, with some steamed broccoli, would be quite filling for me.
-
I fry a ton of chopped veggies in a bit of soy sauce and rice vinegar (spinach, mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini, onion, broccoli) and eat it with a fish fillet like tilapia, or salmon with dill and some lemon juice. I add 100g cooked rice if I have the calories for it. Sometimes a spoonful of salsa on the fish. Always under…

Birth control has done WONDERS for my period. Very few cramps, manageable bleeding, lasts maybe 4 days. I also find that while I DO crave chocolate, it's easily satiated. I like to splurge on truly rich chocolate and eat it with a coffee, somehow makes it all the more dessert-y. Also love Oreo Thins (4 are 140 calories),…

Eat the whole egg! Yolk is where all the important stuff is. My favourite breakfast is toast with a whole avocado smeared on it, a drizzle of hot sauce, tomato slices and salt and pepper. I eat it with Greek yogurt topped with berries. Avocados add tons of good fats and calories too. Snack on nuts and dark chocolate mixed…

1.) A spoonful of Costco pesto, a little bit of cheese, and a few tomato slices on a chicken breast, and baked. 2.) Mix honey, balsamic, vinegar, some chili powder. Broil chicken on both sides, glaze with mixture, and broil both sides again. 3.) Add some paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper in a bowl. Cut chicken into…

Oreo Thins are my new obsession. They're surprisingly SOOOO crispy and good.

I pre-log a lot, especially if I make a couple lunches for the week. HOWEVER, once you've been doing this long enough to know what an average day looks like, you can be more flexible and cycle through options last minute without feeling stuck. On a work day, I typically eat 1 slice of toast with a spread of some kind, a…
