Ok so I woke up this morning aching after my first day of 30DS. I tried to do it again today but I listened to my body and had to stop half way through. Am still impressed that I got half way through! Will see if I am a bit less achy tomorrow and try again. How is everyone else getting on?

How does a pound of muscle weigh more than a pound of fat? A pound is a pound the whole world round :-)
-
Feel free to add me. Already lost 18 and looking to lose another 30-40 pounds :-)

Muscle does not weigh more than fat but a pound of muscle will take up much less space in your body than a pound of fat which is bulkier. You may put a couple of pounds on when building the muscle but then the muscle will help break down the fat. So there may be a tiny spike in your weight but check your measurements to…

I was having an issue with this and a workout not showing up but I just logged in now and it's synced to MFP. It actually says it synced nine hours ago when I originally tried to sync it, but it definitely wasn't there then! Probably a minor blip with the app.

Yep, it's perfectly normal and usually just water weight. Just drink plenty of fluids and it should drop straight off after your period :-)

^this!^ You can always be a bit stricter the rest of the week but then enjoy a nice dessert when your friend comes around. You shows enjoy time with our friends rather than be worrying about calories :-)

I'm new too. Just completed day one of level one doing the modified moves as I am struggling with my Asthma at the minute. Enjoyed it so much but I can tell I'm going to hurt in the morning! Looking forward to day 2 :-)

At a tapas bar in El Campello, Spain. June 2012. My first ever overseas holiday! Was lovely and warm :-)

Skinny Jeans. And a jumper from Bench with thumb loops. Been trying to get one for years but it would seem that ladies of a size 16 or over can't get that much stuff in there. I will get there though....

I sniff grapefruit oil on days like this - it's a slight appetite suppresant apparently. Always seems to work for me when I can't seem to fill my tummy!

I would try to eat back some of your fitness calories. Anything massively less will put your body into starvation mode and make it harder to lose the weight. MFP set my goal to 1200 which I found was too low and I stopped losing after my first 6 pounds. I put my target up to 1400 and now I am losing again. Try to read up…

Saucony all the way for walking and running here! I love the Omniglide which resets my over-pronation and makes things pain free. Got some NB for trail walking and running though.

You may need to eat some calories back - you shouldn't go below your BMR as this will put your body into starvation mode and it will hold onto the calories you do take in. There are loads of threads about this already which offer advice on this. In terms of exercise calories, I like to exercise to eat rather than eat and…

If you are used to running trail or grass the switch to hard road which is less forgiving could have had an impact. Try to run on grass or snow every now and then to give your knees a rest. Other than that, have your gait assessed and make sure that your shoes are right for you. Happy running!

Hi, am based in Leeds. Lost 19 pounds but put 4 back on over christmas so I'm getting back on it with healthy eating and running! Feel free to add me :-)

I can't get enough of low fat cottage cheese at the mo - it's a great filling for a baked potato. Polenta is only around 20 cals for a couple of slices and it's a great alternative to potato. Quinoa tossed in garlic, lemon and herbs - nice alternative to rice. Good Housekeeping amazing soup - 45 cals a cup but I eat it by…

Christmas is a time to enjoy yourself and spend time with your family and friends. I worked hard before Christmas to lose some weight and to be good because I knew that things would slide over the holiday. Don't give up - it's just a bump in the road! To get over it I will take any chocolates or cakes left in the house…

Always have raw veg to hand for snacks but love steamed veg on dinner. With salt and pepper :-)

I haven't cut anything out, just adjusted the amount I eat. One thing that has made a huge difference is eating more fibre - wholemeal bread, quinoa, brown rice, plenty of veg etc. I never go hungry! And I have swapped wine for gin and slimline tonic when I drink. Which is less frequent. When I do have wine I can literally…

Use walk breaks e.g. jog for five minutes, walk for 2. you can then increase running, decrease walking as you progress. I find that a running app helps motivate me as I log how many KMs I run. I also like to look at how many calories I have burnt and work out a little treat that I can have with a few of those earnt back…

QUOTE: QOTD Day 5 : What is your favorite healthy snack to give you a boost and keep you going?! (i know yesterdays was posted as day 5 but i think I am supposed to be 5 lol) You can't beat a banana! Though I think I may turn into one soon, I eat so many...

For me, It's work - I am a high school teacher in the UK and work from 7.30am - 5.30pm. We only get half an hour for lunch which isn't long enough to eat properly and then get you next lesson set up so I end up missing lunch most days (hoping to change that). Then when I get home at 6pm I am so tired I can't be bothered…

Woohoo! Can't wait to get started!

Hahahaha! Brightened up my morning - thank you!

Ok, so I'm going to give this a go. I need to lose some serious weight because I want to feel healthier as well as looking better. I have tried before to 'buddy' up with my wife but she just doesn't have the motivation and that causes me to lose motivation and before you know it, we're both back at Krispy Kreme! I'm…
