Apparently my Bariatric Physician lies. She says they are not addictive. And when I have taken them before, I have not experienced withdrawals. I guess that means I am a liar too. Note to self: It's amazing to me that you people think you are Physicians. I should have known better than to post here. Self, stay the heck…

I am not doing high reps. I want to work up slowly to using higher weights because of my back problems The workouts I have been doing to ease into this are ten exercises with ten repetitions each. These are only for upper body.

I still haven't tried Belviq; my doctor said that Phentermine, which I use, is not addictive. I have used it before, and never became addicted to it. The only problem I have had is feeling tired for a few days after I stopped using it. But the truth is, diet pills are just a start. For me, it was a quick way to get almost…

I also want to start lifting. Any suggestions for what to do? Videos work the best for me. I have started out with a couple of 10 minute arm workouts from Fitness Blender. I use very light weights. I have back problems so sometimes I have to skip stuff. For example Tricep Kickbacks with weights in both hands, bent over.…

In 15 weeks I lost almost 2 pounds a week. I went from 162 down to 134. I have a goal too. I want to lose 32 pounds for my son's wedding. have 11 days left to lose 4 pounds. Realistically, that's not going to happen. I lost 28 pounds in 15 weeks, and that is good enough for me. The sassiness you see is what I call people…

It's tough. I always feel bad that poorer neighborhoods don't have access to the very fresh fruits and vegetables available in my area. I live in Chicago. I feel bad that there is so much starchy junky stuff so freely available and not the healthy stuff.
-
I admire you for having a goal. I hope you plan on logging all your food and exercise. It has really helped me to do that. My son's wedding is on May 31. My goal was to be 130 pounds. On February 4, I started out at 162 pounds at 5'I' tall. had 16 weeks to lose 32 pounds. That was 2 pounds a week. I got pretty close to my…

Let's see, I lost pretty fast. February 4th I weighed 162. Now on May 15 I am 135. I think that's around 1-2 pounds a week.

I had the same experience with Topomax. Horrible side effects. Maybe we were on higher doses. One of these two does, I don't know which. Wow, it wiped your memory too? My daughter would call me at work "Mom, you left the stove on again." It was so bad, I thought I had Alzheimers!
-
I hear you on that, Var. However, it's been my experience in the past, that if there is something that many people on this forum find challenging to what they personally believe, it gets shot down. It's just easier for us that use medication prescribed by our physicians, to take it elsewhere, rather than get bombarded by…

Sinister, yes, I use a food scale too! I am a little OCD about it ;)

Kold, it actually is a good idea, I agree with you. From what I was reading, there is another app like this, and as you say, it is not at all accurate. I think this finally tells me the answer to what to do when I go out to eat at a restaurant. Makes sense; if I don't log it here, at least I can look at it and get an idea…
-
Var, because many people who participate on this thread are not interested in hearing anything positive about prescription diet medication.
-
Aww foo. I downloaded the app. All it does is take a picture of your food so you are aware of what you ate and eat more mindfully.
-
If you want information, please message me, I am happy to share, just not on this thread.
-
My son told me what it is; I think it's a rough guesstimate, but it sounds like it would be good for going to a restaurant where I have no clue how to log a meal. He has it on iOS but I found it for android. MealLogger. I haven't tried it yet. Have any of you tried something like this?
-
I like the once a month suggestion better than once a week. I personally weigh every day, but only because I am OCD about it, and only because I geekily love keeping little graphs and charts.
-
I'll try logging it separately. I really like this logging calories and exercise thing. It's keeping me on my toes. However, this has been a continuing problem for me. When I go to a restaurant, most of the time I don't know how to log it unless it is something simple like scrambled eggs. So I just don't log that day.
-
It's just a local restaurant, not sure if they have the info online.

Congrats CB!

Good on you for saying this! Much appreciated. I am the other way around; I am 5'1 and have lost about 24 pounds on 1300 calories or so per day. And FYI, I am jumping on the bandwagon that says many people here have nothing better to do than be mean and bully people. Yesterday I saw a thread locked by a moderator for just…

LOL, if you notice, most of the people on this thread are only here to show how anti diet pills they are. The title of this thread is asking for opinions about different medications. Most of the people replying are here to make sure you know how evil diet pills are. It's just posturing. The people that actually want…

WOW, I started reading this thread on Pages 1 and 2. I thought there were some really good suggestions. I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore at how these threads deteriorate to people being downright mean to one another. :(
-
As someone earlier in the thread said, this post asks for what your experience on Adipex is. Not about "You need to work out more and eat less the "natural" way." We get it that you feel that way. But please take your opinions elsewhere. Thank you. Idea: How about you start a thread called "Why diet pills are horrible for…

I thought I would be in maintenance soon. I was prepared to be pretty close to being done losing weight once I get to 130. i saw some recent photos of me, and I still look heavier than I thought I was. I guess I am going to need to get to about 120 or 125 to be my goal size. I am five foot one. No more than a Size 10 and a…

I've heard that too, that upping calories can help. I know that when I do it occasionally, it seems to result in a good weight loss after a few days. Is 1200 calories a day what they recommend for everyone here? It seems like it might be too low for some people.
-
It irks me when people think there is only one way to do things. Some of the people on this board can be brutal when they hear you are on diet pills. By the way, I got slammed on one thread about Belviq or whatever that new drug is called. These people had so much fun cutting me up, that they are STILL doing it two weeks…

MJ, that's fantastic that you lost the weight then didn't gain anything in the year you were off Phen. That's my goal; to keep the good eating habits after I stop taking Phen. Another 30; will it be tough to do? Woozie, let us know how the IV injections go.Recumbent trikes seem to be great! When I was in Florida last…

What's an NSV? (Geez, these pesky acronyms!)

I have a lot of back issues. My physical therapist says that losing weight is the best thing I can do for my back. I am not supposed to extend my back, only flex it. He said to get an exercise bike, because that is the right position. It's helped!
