Oh, great ideas! I actually have some Old Bay on hand, but usually save it for fish. Never occured to me to try it on chicken! Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. Just downloaded it to my Kindle. The book gets great reviews and it looks like a very interesting story. I have plantar fasciitis (I over pronate pretty badly) so I don't think I could ever run barefoot or use minimalist shoes. I need that high arch support otherwise my feet kill me.... but I…

Hi guys! I just started Phase 1 yesterday. I still reading through the newer book "South Beach Diet Super Charged" but skipped ahead to get a grocery list. It wasn't too bad until night when I really wanted a sweet snack. I remembered the ricotta creme dessert and whipped that up. It wasn't bad. I'm going to try and add…

Oh, he is delicious... That body.... THOSE EYES... sigh...

Add me! Congrats on your weight loss!

Add me! I"m in the same boat, actually. I had some trouble with PF, think it's under control now, although it never affected my running. It's been hard to exercise this summer with the kids home. Now that the kids are back in school I hope to get back in the swing of things. I actually took some time off from MFP but I am…

Starbucks is TERRIBLE, it always tastes burnt. I do not get why people like it so much. I vote DD or McDonalds or anyplace other than starbucks.

ok, thanks, I feel much better. My husband thinks it's really weird that I drink coffee right before running. I dunno. I can brew it super quick in my Keurig and just feel like I have to have one cup before I do anything in the morning. Although I'm sure it's mental, because the caffeine doens't have time to kick in byt he…

Oh that's an excellent idea! Thanks!

So January is the best time to buy running shoes? I"ll have to keep this in mind. I liked buying my shoes from the specialty store, but I am a bargain shopper and it killed me to buy shoes retail!

If this matters, I usually run on a treadmill. I over pronate a little, so I have shoes with moderate stability in them. I also have plantar fasciatis, so if the cushioning goes in my shoes, I really need to replace them. So I guess I will start keeping track of my miles, then. I was just a little shocked when he said 6…

Very cool! Keep up the good work!

Welcome! I'm a Hoosier as well! I had great success with WW years ago but am here to ramp up my fitness. I'm sending you a friend request!

I'm guessing plantar fasciatis. I have it. When I wake up in the morning, the bottom of my right foot hurts right where the heel is (where the padding of the foot is). I chalk it up to not wearing shoes around the house. I have hardwood floors and for years just walked around barefoot or with socks. Now I have to wear good…

I tried out a Saucony and it had really good cushion in the heel. I ended up with an Asics GT 21-60.. It had good support all over and I felt decent cushioning in the hell (altho I think the Saucony might have had a tad more)

I'm back from Fleet Feet! They did my fitting, watched me walk/run. Told me i have a slight pronation, could use shoes with some stability in them. I tried on 3 pairs. I felt like Goldilocks. The first pair had alot of arch support. The second pair had a ton of cushioning in the heel. The 3rd pair was perfect! It had great…

Thank you for this info. We have hardwood floors, and the past 5 years I have always walked around barefoot or just socks. I think this has caused my PF. I have to wear good shoes now around the house otherwise first thing in the morning the heel of my right foot is really painful. If I'm good about wearing shoes around…

That's great advice about asking for last year's models/colors. I really don't care what color they are.

Oh good.. I agree with supporting local. How did they analyze your run? I called them and they told me we would just go outside and someone would watch me run.
-
OK guys... I am headed to Fleet Feet this morning. I will update this post and let you guys know what happened!

So here's my question.. can you search for shoes online that are specific for pronators/flat feet... etc. I mean, if they tell me I am a pronator, how do I go about finding which shoes online would fit that bill? I will probably head to Fleet Feet this morning and see what they tell me.

Thanks! Who doesn't love George? lol.

I don't have a problem with my knees, but I do have plantar fasciatis... and I think I might have had a calf strain last week, I looked it up and it said the calf strain could be from over pronation while running. I definitely need good cushioning in my heel because the PF kills me otherwise.

Fage is the best Greek yogurt on the planet. The others pale in comparison

Wow.. that's awesome. I'm glad you have great results. My lower abs are sore after doing this (never had that type of soreness with 30DS - altho I've never made it to the 3rd level)

Target carries knock off Zone protein bars... I haven't tried them but I believe Zone stuff is low carb.
-
OH..that really stinks. They should have stuck around to support you. Sorry.

Eh.. don't listen to her. Some people just don't get it. Congrats on running the 5k! Wow, you used a 2 percent incline? That's pretty tough. Did you always use an incline for your 5K training? I've been using 1 percent but my calf was giving me trouble so I lowered it to zero.

Agree. Get some handweights from Target and do some biceps/triceps exercises. I need to work on mine as well.
