  • I think you can modify that my changing what automatically feeds to your News feed page. Go to <Home>, then <Settings> and then to <Automatic News Feed Update Settings> and update accordingly.
  • Halved, broiled, with a dollop of goat cheese..... then drizzled with a little honey and balsamic vinegar. Very delicious!
  • I agree..... I get a 6" turkey on white with extra spinach, cucumber, tomato and Dijon mustard. (swiss cheese occasionally too!) It's filling, delicious and relatively low cal compared to other options. Good luck!

  • Today was my day off and I battled half the day with myself - alternatively trying to convince myself to move my b*tt or to just “relaaax”. It went something like this…: “Get up and get going – it’s your day off and you have a lot to do!” - (“But it’s my day off and I love to sleep in!”) “Go do your morning walk –that will…
  • This is an interesting thread - and I've gotten a few ideas to try. My list usually looks like this: Seasonal fruit - e.g. blueberries and cantaloupe Apples Bananas Leafy Greens – e.g. Lettuce or baby spinach Tomatoes Cucumbers Asparagus, broccoli, or other seasonal veggie Limes and lemons Cilantro Onions and/or garlic…
  • I agree.... these sound AWESOME!!! (I'm not even that big a shrimp fan!)

  • ALL of This post!^^ but especially if they NEVER reply / comment on my postings. I don't need validation - but if I'm just a number on their friends list I have no interest in their activities. Be a friend to keep a friend!
  • ^This. I follow this rule and find it helps me keep the numbers going in the right direction. No need to make everything a scientific experiment (IMHO). SOMETHING in this weight loss journey ought to be relatively easy.... Good luck! :drinker:
  • Good one! Great visual..... and I don't even have a dog!!

  • I bought a Nordictrack A2250 5 or 6 years ago and really like it. It was a mid-range model (on sale @ Sears) and it came with all the basic features plus the ability to program some custom workouts. Although I can’t say it’s had heavy use, (otherwise I wouldn’t be here  ) it has had periodic, steady use, and I’ve had…
  • You should be excited! Fantastic job!!
  • I agree with everyone as well, but just 2 more hints: I recommend you start to shop around at assisted living communities where your folks can both live together – now – whether they are ready or not. This is what my sisters and I did for my folks. When you find a good place it is clear – then put your name on the waiting…
  • ...2 walks and it's only 9 a.m.! (in Oregon.. ) I'm impressed with your plan! I've already walked and planned my meals today as well. I even took my measurements and am happy to report 3" off my hips and 5" off my waist since March 20! Yay! I'm on a roll!! (no butter)
  • Wow - I'm impressed and clearly you've had great success so far. I wish I loved to exercise but that's been my challenge forever. I am doing pretty well tho' at walking lately and doing some free weights about 5x / week. I have many miles (and pounds) to go and I can tell this menopause thing has slowed down my progress -…
  • Ditto for me! A little exercise, a little wine.... a lot of water.... I am determined to meet my goal even if it is next year! Looking forward to chatting.... :flowerforyou:

  • I agree with you.... and I have to chuckle - the 3rd anniversary of my Dad's passing was 2 days ago and he used to work for Nabisco..... Let me just say - I don't blame him for my weight issues over the years but he was a man who loved to eat and, dang, those "test" batches of cookies and crackers he would bring home were…

  • Thanks, this input helped! I've had about the same experience as you and have been feeling really tired lately.... (not cranky tho' ) I looked up my BMR and think I'll adjust accordingly.... Thanks!
  • What an amazing accomplishment in just one year.... I am cheering for you! Happy, happy, happy anniversary!!
  • Out of Africa – beautiful scenery, beautiful (but sad) story, beautiful actor…(heart spasm!!) .. and OK - Meryl Streep is good too!
  • I've always liked this one: "Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star." W. Clement Stone
  • Happy Birthday and congratulations! 3 lbs in 1 week is really a lot and no easy thing to do! It sounds like you’re doing all the right things and it’s clearly having results. Enjoy your day, your dinner and your holiday!! Cheers!
  • I really like my treadmill. (it’s not a manual tho’) Although walking outside is great I don’t always want to do that in the rainy Northwest. So, as those above me said, the key for me is great music! I often try to match my stride to the beat and I vary speed and intensity throughout my workout. If you slow it down a bit…
  • Good for you!! You planned it, managed it, and most importantly - enjoyed it! I'm impressed. Now it's my turn - going to my sister's for dinner tonight and she's a great cook! I've made a plan tho'....which means I'm outta here to go for my walk!
  • I am eating 1200-1500 cals (net) and am usually under my daily goal. This seems to be working for me now but I’ve just started and have a lot to lose. I found drinking a lot of water does help me and walking is better than lying around…. Good for you!!!!! Hope your shoulder is mending well… (ouch)
  • Just finished my workout for today and have managed to workout 5/6 days so far. Pretty good for me. Now off to see my 95 yr. old Mom for her workout! Hey, if she can do it I have no excuses!
  • Raul Malo - "Va Tu Veras" from his "Today" album..... brilliant!
  • I just joined MFP last month and am already a little addicted to signing in each day to see what’s up and “plan” my day. Now… if I could just get addicted to exercising (although I’m doing pretty well so far…. 18/24 days done!) Happy to chat with you all.
