  • I second 'created' you'll drop 7lbs easy. Just a little bit of exercise (swimming maybe? wink wink) and following MFP's calorie goal for losing 2lbs a week and your tummy will be tighter and your dress looser. Best wishes on the big day!
  • Okay. Number 1: Your body will NOT lose weight when you keep changing the game plan every day. Your body doesn't know when you are going to starve it - so its learned to hold onto all the fat it can - and not the good fat, but the bad fat that weighs a more and makes you feel yucky. Number 2: This journey is NOT about a…
  • So you'd need a deficit of 500 a day on your MFP food diary. Because MFP already factored in 1000 of those calories for you. DON'T go into starvation mode - you won't like the outcome. Seen it with way too many friends in life.

  • Is it the number that matters or the look? You're going to LOOK like you've lost 20lbs+ if you're doing cardio & strength training 3-4x a week and you're following your MFP guidelines on calories. I've only lost 17lbs since March 28th - but I'm down three clothes sizes... do it healthy & right - you'll get the look even if…

  • doing it outside is best - running on a treadmill is VERY different. so if you truly want to run a 5K - train outside.
  • if you're interested in real comfort - I would look at Spira shoes. They have springs in the heal and under the ball of the foot. These springs have kept me from hurting - in my feet or legs! as I've started running. They're well priced and they last for a longgggggg time. If you're interested, drop me a message.

  • Challenge for May 10th! Drink 8 FULL GLASSES of water today! Don't scimp. Not even a little. Drink it all!!! Wash those toxins from working out away!
  • SWEET - so lets get going on challenges. Challenge for Tuesday May 10th: Workout for 15 minutes more than your average workout time per day last week!
  • Finished Week 2 day 2 this morning - will do week 2 day 3 tomorrow... Wednesday is going to be an off day though, and I am VERY nervous about Thursday when I start week 3! Anyone made that move yet? How'd it go?
  • Currently at 17lbs down on my ticker - goal is to lose 2-4lbs per week between now and Sept. 1st, inclusive (obviously!) of now to July 4th. Running my first 5K June 5th - so that will help! Time to GET FIT!
  • There are a bunch of us out here with gluten allergies - feel free to give one of us a shout if you need any recipes/product recs, etc.
  • I log it as 'jogging' for XXX minutes and 'walking mod, pace' for XXX minutes... I know I burn more than that because of recovery and intervals, but its all I could figure out.
  • I have over 50 to lose - and I'm down 17 on my ticker today. So lets see if we can make it 27 down by June 8th!!! I have my first 5K on June 5th - so being 10 lbs lighter means not having to haul it around for 3.1 miles! =P
  • I know the feeling - my roommate keeps telling me that eating half of what I've eaten all year isn't good for me. I should go back to 12oz of steak every night instead of my 4-6oz now, I shouldn't weigh my food, blah, blah, blah. I shouldn't workout more than 60 min a day because I haven't worked out in a while (that she's…
  • if you get a Wii you can do cardio, resistance/strength exercises, dance, etc. There are plenty of workout DVDs you can check into as well...
  • i lift light weights while watching tv or doing step. if you hold your arms out to the side for a few seconds, then up, back down, repeat... that's basically what i do. i've lost inches on each arm (around) in the last 5 weeks... trying to tone them and lose the chicken wing - not to build muscle so much when doing this.…
  • Really? I haven't heard that before... I thought you could gain muscle and lose fat at the same time... and to lose fat you must have a calorie deficit? I certainly feel like I've gained muscle though I've been at a calorie deficit (built in my MFP) every day for almost 6 weeks now...

  • If it doesn't fit - GET RID OF IT! If you leave stuff in your closet, and someday your smaller clothes start to get tighter, you'll say 'that's okay - i can wear XXX.' NO! Its not okay!! You've worked hard to lose the weight, treat yourself right and GET RID OF THE UNHEALTHY CLOTHES! I have a pile going - on June 1st it…

  • Thanks for sharing! I definitely agree that its important to do interval training and PUSH yourself. However, building up a great cardio-vascular system is necessary to support such intervals as well. I think a balance is important - in food, in exercise, in life.
  • Riley... Blossom... Koda... Bean... kinda depends on personality...
  • Awesome! What did you do to accomplish this transformation over the year?
  • I have been doing C25K for the last week and already notice inches lost between waist and knees. I also do strength training to keep the muscle. I am excited to see how I look at the end of summer after 4 5Ks and all this training! I prefer to run outside because the terrain where I'm at gives me a better feel for an…
  • I was inspired to take up running because a mentor started in 2010 and now, 18 months later is WINNING 5K and 10K races. I know I look silly running right now - I'm 60lbs over my target weight and I carry the majority of my excess weight between my waist and knees. But - I've been training C25K for 4 days now... and while…
  • I've heard if you use the balance board with EA sports boxing turns into kick boxing. I also do EA sports and LOVE it. I am 3 days away from finishing the 30 day challenge on medium and will kick it up to hard after a day of rest. After June (when I finish the challenge on hard) I'm going to purchase EA sports 2! I've…

We ride Western Pleasure and Competitive Trail. We are riding in our FIRST trail trial a month from TODAY! She's my biggest motivation for losing weight. We'll both be…
