I am not or have never been a smoker. So "shut the heck up" you say. However, I did ignore the fact that I had diabetes for over 10 years...so I have suffered the same 'stupid' mentality of Russian Roulette. First thing I did was read your profile. I am suggesting you go back and read what you typed. I believe everything…

PLEASE open your diary. any suggestions you get from folks who have no clue what you are eating may not be good suggestions.

^^^ You got THAT RIGH!!!!!!! Amen to taking care of ourselves. Like I said earlier about my sister....she happily eats what the dietician said she could. and she HAPPILY BRAGS about her a1c of 6.0. and then she wonders why the doctor keeps addind more meds! She takes 4 different meds spread throughout her day 4 different…

Great loss and way of eating. I guess I should have put a disclaimer in my note saying where I do respect the Vegan lifestyle. There is definitely a difference in Vegans and Militant Vegans. Some have chosen to eat that way and some have chosen to verbally attack anyone that does not. My statement was not intended to slam…

happieharpie -- is RIGHT ON THE MONEY. A bunch of folks will attack her for saying it, and though she may not be diabetic--I am and the lifestyle choice to drop the wheat, drop the sugar, watch sodium works. I did not drop the dairy--just don't have much and it is a little cheese for enjoyment, sour cream, and heavy cream.…

Gee whiz AJ_G where's the loyalty? We were on the same side a few weeks ago against the Militant Vegans! :flowerforyou:

During the thread, there was a bunch of "this study says...' counteracted by "this study says..." I was just making the point that for every negative is a positive. I said I didn't need a study---meaning to convince me. I had my own results to convince me. I also did NOT say that I did not spend hours and hours and hours…

Wow. There is nothing like a Carb Fight....except a Carnivore/Vegan fight! I am so lucky I get to aggrevate 2 groups....oh wait--3 groups! I get to annoy the Non-GlutenFree folks too! I don't need studies. I have my OWN. My body, my reaction, my success (or lack thereof). 1 - Did lower carbs (under 140). Worked. Yep, just…

Wow. Great discussion folks. That is all I was looking for. I was so shocked by the original girl's mean attack when I pointed out that in the world we live in, there is a lot of bias (better word than discrimination) especially toward overweight folks. I figured most of us fit in that category--either now or before. I…

Thanks Blizane. Maybe it is the water--never knew that. Golightly--Only the low 1000 calories for the Fat Fast. I normally take in 14-1600/day. The Fat Fast is supposed to last 3-5 days where you eat 80-90% fat.

Can't call this 'advice' but I will tell you what I did. I went 'grain-free', adopted a high fat, low carb lifestyle Iincluding eating eggs almost daily) and work out 3-6 times/week. I dropped my cholesterol 40 points in 4 months (to 162), lost 35 pounds, and stopped needing a daily allergy pill. I have more energy that I…

In some professions, like bartenders, Hooters waitresses, etc., most people realize looks are important--it's what sells the job. I think most overweight people would not apply for that position. Of course, everyone is not right for every job. At my heavy weight, I wouldn't have applied for Abercrombie...but maybe at Lane…

Everyone had great tips. I can only add my mantra: 'Great POSSIBILITIES come with CONTROL"

The above response by another to my observation about Discrimination totally caught me by surprise. And since it may no longer serve the purpose of the OP, I started a New TOPIC: Discrimination--Weight/Age/Hotness/Not-s0-Hotness?? Please come on over and let me know your Discrimination Issues---or not. Thanks.

lunch kits, bottle of ice and those things you pop in the freezer (they are cheap). CONTROL is the Number ONE issue in losingl. You have NO CONTROL if you are buying pre=made food. You have no idea what they put in it. CONTROL. CONTROL. CONTROL. Without it, very little else will work. Sorry. By taking your lunch...you also…

Excuse ME -- THAT was rather RUde AND UNnecessary. And, excuse me, I WAS once young and Very Hot. I worked in Corporate America. I SAW the 'cutesy, flirty' girls get by with painint their nails at their desk and the boss stopping to chat about their color choice.' While I sat next to them quitely digging thru a stack of…

Well done and WELL SAID. Maybe there should be a forum section for required reading for the Newbie's. I nominate yours. Awesome job and Very inspiring. You look great. and better yet--you look LIKE YOU FEEL GREAT.

You look Beautiful -- and 10 years younger -- and 100 times happier ! Wow, just WOW. Congrats and best wishes on hitting your ultimate goal.

Dear OP -- I am not trying to sound rude, and I hope it doesn't come out that way. But---do you think Any of US wanted to diet, or cut out french fries, or coke. Do you think we have some magic pill of willpower? I spent almost 2 decades FAT after being skinny the first 35 years of my life. There was a HUGE absence of…

I despise this simple fact.> There is age discrimination, weight discrimination, and ugly discrimination. and those particular discriminations also apply to men, but to women even more. If the 'other offenders' are younger, prettier, or skinnier, it is a plain and simple fact that they will get by with things an older, not…

Yes. Yes. Yes. I started out 10 pounds heavier than you and am still 10 pounds behind you! Girl--we have LOST a BUNCH. And, yes, I still feel and see fat. The only time I see that I am what I call a normal size (14), is in a cute outfit in a nice photo. I still don't see it in the mirror. My daughter has been gone all…

Only ONE thing better than dropping pounds.....and that is DROPPING MEDs !!!!

definitely list what you cook so we can make better suggestions.

type 2 for 15 years. I eat high fat ,low carb. Best I have ever done. My number are in the 80-90's now. Forget bread. Unless it is homemade low carb. Easier than you think. Get CONTROL NOW. The longer you wait, the harder. Drop the sugar. Also not hard. If you like sweets, google low-carb recipes. They are out there and…

Awesome. I am INSANELY jealous right now. As I have 'watched' your journey, you have pushed me to do more and more weights. I had already decided that I was really going to concentrate on doing more weight stuff after I get these last 30-40 pounds off. I am so happy for you...and annoyed with my back diagnosis. I think…

love love love them. I have NOT tried the ones with tofu. I don't like tofu, but I purchased a bag at Krogers--haven't been brave enough to try yet. I love the ones bought online from Miracle Noodle. I get the spinach angel hair ones. They don't smell as strong. However, just rinse well (even with regular ones). Then…

I love 1 and 5. If you are really nervous about such a drastic 'shortening', then go with 1. You can always go shorter! That's how I did it. After having long hair for Decades, I had reached the point where I looked like an old hippie lady! But I didn't want to do too drastic, so I did the shoulder length look for a while…

since you mentioned the ovulation issues, did the doc say anything about PCOS?

good job! keep on moving. My knees hurt so bad last February, that I was dang near suicidal! I couldn't imagine living with that pain forever. I had exercised all last year and they were tolerable, even good. But got sick and stopped working out Nov, Dec, Jan. By February I was completely miserable. I remembered how much…

DO IT !!! I think you SHOULD. If some folks judge you and think you are not in "shape" to be a trainer, so what??? There will be an overweight person that appreciates your struggle and accomplishments. And then another 'not in great shape' person, then another, then another. I think you will get clients. Who knows...it may…
