I have been logging for a couple of months and am down 21 lbs. so far. I bought a fitbit, too, and walk just about every day. I can tell you that the first couple of weeks were tough, but it got much easier pretty quickly. You CAN do this. And you will start to feel better long before hitting your 10% goal!

Seven Stars organic whole milk plain yogurt. I mix 1/2 cup of it with pumpkin puree and add pumpkin pie spice, a tablespoon of maple syrup and sometimes a few pecans. All whole foods, all delicious!

I am a couple months into this and was so afraid of failure I was almost afraid to start. But after thinking about the alternative (barely being able to move, never able to keep up with my husband and sons, terrible time walking, etc.) I decided to plunge ahead. I spent a lot of time in the first few weeks making a plan on…

Great post! Thanks for sharing your victories! I am 46 days in and am experiencing similar results. For the first time in a long time, I was able to dance for hours. I am walking every day. And yesterday I pulled out my bike, dusted it off, and have been on 3 little bike rides already. Life is opening up! Keep us posted on…

I love this post. Thank you so much! It is encouraging to hear about someone's long term success. Gives me great hope to know that if I just keep doing what I am doing today, tomorrow, next week, next year, I will be able to live a healthy, active, life.

I would bet that most of us have struggled with emotional eating. But today is a new day! I have made a commitment to myself that I will log my food every day and walk or some other kind of exercise. Simple steps. After awhile, I have found that my emotions and my food don't have to be so connected. You can definitely do…

I LOVE your story! It is so wonderful when a passion is the incentive for health. For me, it is African drumming. Not only do I need major upper body strength, but I need to be fit and healthy to be able to travel to Africa! GREAT job. And be sure to share some venison recipes,LOL.

I wonder if there is any connection between eating low fat and loose skin? I used to teach childbirth classes and we always emphasized the need to eat adequate fats to help maintain elasticity in the mom's skin. Have folks found any correlation between the amount of fat in their diet and the tendancy towards loose skin?

I know a guy who started to develop larger chest tissue when he was eating and drinking a lot of soy. Soy contains estrogen. So, if you are using a lot of soy in your diet, maybe cut back?

You know, there is a part of me that wishes I was already at my goal weight... and am impatient that it is going to take so long. (Probably at least a year!) So my solution is to try and live as though I am already at my goal. I am trying to get my head around the idea of being 100+ lbs. lighter and it has been sort of…
