HRM= heart rate monitor A pedometer is only for counting steps walking so would not be accurate for aerobics

I have been maintaining since November. I eat around 2300 calories per day. I do 3 days of 20-30 mins of cardio plus an hour of lifting weights. Then the other 2 week days I do 1-1.5 hours of cardio. On the weekends I typically do long bike rides or hikes. I have my calories set at 1600 and eat all but around 200 of my…

Everyday!
-
I do that everyday. I have a serious ice cream addiction so I make sure that I workout enough to have the calories for it at night. It has worked for me throughout losing 80lbs and now in maintenance. I know that I have to allow myself the treats I want if I am going to maintain this loss for life.

You can add breastfeeding under foods. It will put it in your diary as negative calories. I am not sure why it is in the food database and not under exercise... Best of luck! BTW....Awesome job nursing your babies!

If you are that close to your goal you should definitely eat back the majority of your exercise calories as you do not want to have too large of a deficit or you will risk losing more muscle than fat. It sounds like your focus should be on losing body fat and building muscle not necessarily on the pounds on the scale. You…

Most people agree that it does not matter what time of day you eat. I eat whenever I want. I try to use the majority of my calories for nutrient dense healthy foods but I do allow myself a treat everyday. It keeps me motivated and keeps me from cracking and pigging out on junk food.

I started on maintenance around Thanksgiving and I am still working to get my calories sorted out. I was scared at first too. I would suggest raising them slowly maybe 100-200 every week or so. That will allow your body to adjust and give you a chance to see what works for you. Don't worry you will be able to eat them once…

Not to be mean but you may trying using the search function on the forums as this topic is discussed constantly. Everyone has a different opinion but I have always eaten the majority of mine and lost 82 lbs.

You need to increase your weights. You will not bulk up. We are different than men and not capable of bulking up like them without the help of steroids etc. Lifting heavy weights will increase your strength and get you the muscle definition you are seeking.

I use endomondo to track my rides, runs and walks. I do use mapmyride to preplan routes though if I am trying to hit a certain mileage.

Why do people ask for help and then get defensive and argue with all the advice they are given? Seems like a waste of time...
-
It shouldn't be making noise. That is essentially the same setup I have and if it is noisy then something is out of whack and it needs a tuneup. I would take it to the bikeshop and have them look it over. I often knock my rear derailleur out of alignment and that leads to rough and noisy shifting.

I have lost 80lbs in the last 14 months. I am currently maintaining but I do eat all my exercise calories and always have. I would love to be friends! It is nice to see someone who shares my philosophies.
-
Thank you everyone for the kind words. Its means a lot to me. Good luck on meeting your goals. You can do it!

Besides the health benefits the main reason I exercise is so I can eat more, hehe. If I did not work out I would be starving and not be able to eat all the yummy treats and my ice cream every night. I would never have made it only eating 1200 calories per day. I eat a lot and working out allowed me to do that while still…

Awesome! I love to see other avid cyclists out there. So how many calories do you burn on your average 50 mile ride according to your computer? Curious to see how different it is from what I am recording for my rides , obviously keeping in mind the various factors we already discussed.
-
I use endomondo and I like it. Yeah sore butt definitely sucks when you first start out. My friend talked me into gel cycling shorts and now I wouldnt ride in anything else. They are expensive but totally worth it if you plan to stick with cycling. Believe it or not your bum does get it used to it after a while and I don't…
-
Really? I have never used a heartrate monitor so I do not know what I am actually burning but I lost weight very consistently eating back probably 90% of the calories that MFP said I burned cycling. There are a lot of factors that come into play like the wind, climbs and fitness level of the rider that MFP does not take…
-
Yes that is how I would do it. I use my average speed and put it in the appropriate range on MFP. Are you riding on trails or the road? Keep at it and you will see improvement in no time. I started riding a little over a year ago and could barely go 7 miles at at time and was probably riding around 10 mph. I worked up to…

I am 5'7" and started at 210lbs in sept 2010. I met my goal of 130lbs in Nov 2011 and have been maintaining since then. 1- What was your changing moment that made you say enough is enough? And start your journey? Getting on the scale and seeing 210lbs, I couldnt believe i had let myself get to that point 2- What was the…

You should integrate strength training into your weight loss journey, it helps you maintain and build muscle mass (although while in a deficit you will not see a huge gain) it will keep you more fit and less flabby not to mention strong and healthy.
-
Thank you so much what a great compliment! I am more proud of muscles than my weight loss hehe.

I agree. Vanity sizing is definitely a factor. I do not feel like I look like I could wear a size 0. I always wonder to myself if I am a size 0 then what to do all the really skinny people wear because I know there are a lot of people out there that are smaller than me.

I buy clothes at all different places, the zeroes are mainly at Old Navy since their clothes run big. Since I am 3 inches taller than you, you can not really even compare our weight or size, 130 lbs is going to be carried completely different on a taller person. Besides there is nothing wrong with being a 7 or a 9, all…
-
Not really. According to those body frame tests I am on the low end of a medium frame. My measurements are a very evenly proportioned hourglass. I do think my body fat is quite low from all of the lifting and cardio that I do. It still blows my mind! I never thought I would wear smaller than a size 8. It is interesting…

I am 5'7" and 130lbs, I typically wear a size 2 but sometimes a zero or 4 depending on the brand ( I started at 211 and size 16 a little over a year ago)

Exercisetv.tv has a ton of great free videos. Some of them require basic equipment such as handweights and exercise balls but there are a few that do not require any equipment.
