It really depends on your metabolizm, age and genetics. Generally speaking, restricting carbs is a good idea (IN MY OPINION). I've lost 50lbs with Paleo. However, I do eat sweet potato a few times a week. I still get the carbs that I need in the foods that I eat, they are just low carb foods.

I will say this: Leg workouts have a tendency to make you feel a bit dizzy and nauseated. I would hydrate well before your workout and eat a little something as well. Leg's are a big muscle. If you are referring to anything other than legs, the same principle could very well apply due to your intensity.
