  • I agree especially after the comment where the conversation topics turn to marriage...
  • Yes, we are all born with our teeth already there. Have you ever seen an image of a child's skull? You can see all the teeth in the jaws. Creepy image but totally true. Exposure to certain things in utero can absolutely have an effect on the teeth.
  • Well done!!! Your post is inspirational!!
  • Ah ha! Thanks for digging this up. Aplastic anemia is different than sickle-cell. AA can be caused by exposure to toxins, whereas sickle-cell is inherited.
  • I'm not sure this can be true. Sickle-cell is genetic.
  • Good luck!! It sounds like you have a great plan for being in shape for it! Funny story about my first 5K: I "ran" my first with my husband (fiance at the time). I was able to jog a decent 5K by the time the race came around and so I flew to Colorado (where he lived) from Louisiana (where I lived). The altitude change was…
  • Experiment with the suggestions given. Peanut butter is a great one, but if you want a slightly less rich flavor try adding a little bit of another fruit to your recipe. I find I like certain fruits better than others in combination with the spinach. Strawberries do a great job of covering the spinach flavor. And I use…
  • Drinking more water will actually help you retain less. It flushes it out of your system. I always see a weight difference (loose a pound or two of water weight) if I cut out soda and up my water intake.
  • 2 so far, but planning on a shoulder piece soon. I've got a piece on my lower back as well as a big one mid-back. Here is the big one: Sorry the final picture is a little bloody. It was taken the day I got it done.
  • As a preacher's kid, I completely agree with this^^ Kindness and generosity are traits Christians should exemplify. I would be ashamed to know that my pastor did this. That said, I do understand why the waitress got fired. I think it is truly unfortunate, but she retaliated in a way that crossed a legal line according to…
  • Awesome goal! My husband and I also strived to get healthy before our first baby. It was a challenge sometimes but the results were fantastic! I was able to maintain a great workout routine throughout pregnancy, too. Unfortunately, I suffered from PPD and ended up gaining back weight I had lost so many years before. It was…
  • Fruit helps curb those cravings for me. I saw one person mention sweet potato. That is great and carrots are surprisingly sweet when cooked. One really awesome thing to keep in mind, is that the longer you can go without eating the super sweet stuff, the less you seriously crave it. Your taste will also change a bit so…
  • My daughter had (and still has) super short hair. She was always mistaken for a boy and people suggested I pierce her ears to avoid that. However, I just couldn't bring myself to do anything that I knew would cause her pain, even if just for a moment. I had my ears pierced as a young adult so I remember the discomfort.
  • What has worked best for me (in the past) is cardio to start the weight loss. When you hit a plateau, add weight training. That has always produced the best results for me. Good luck!
  • There are pastas made of things other than wheat. Look for gluten-free pastas. I recently had some yummy noodles made from yam.
  • I'm 5'4" and would be content at 140. However, 130-135 would be even better. :-)
  • Apologies, I didn't mean to sound so utterly condescending about the pregnancy police comment. It simply made me think of my husband, who claimed the title "pregnancy police" and proceeded to hand out ridiculous advice. I've known quite a few fantastic male OBs.
  • I find it entertaining that the "pregnancy police" advice is coming from a man. OP-talk to your doctor, but trust yourself in this as well. If it feels good to continue working out, by all means do it. I did yoga and swam throughout my pregnancy. I jogged before, but it became uncomfortable after the first trimester, so I…
  • Positive thoughts to you as you struggle with this. Coming from someone who has experienced depression (both on and off meds), I thought Dragonwolf's advice pretty much covered anything I could tell you. I just wanted to add my support and let you know you're not alone. I'm currently off medication and I try to be…

  • Go for it! I am not brave enough to wear one at my current weight but I wore them proudly when I was about your size.
