  • Aug 1: A Aug 2-5: AF Aug 6: A Aug 7-22: AF Streak:16 Aug:20/22 There's only been one day so far that I Really wanted to drink. Two days until my presentation and five til my big interview! Not worried about staying dry til then. As of this morning, I've skipped approximately 11-35 drinks, and saved between $66-211, and…
  • Aug 1: A Aug 2-5: AF Aug 6: A Aug 7-20: AF Streak:13 Aug:18/20 Blackberry bubly, mint, half a lime. Lovely 10 calorie, sweetener and AF beverage for a little something special this evening 😍. I do wish they sold Ariel, my by far favorite AF wine here. I find "wine" to be more evening relaxing mood and mojitos to be more…

Not thirsty at all today!!! 😁Mom seems to be doing well in A-rehab. Studied all day for my big interview coming up. Engineering equations are coming…
  • I am a mechanical engineer. For this particular job, I already had 2 calls with recruiters, 2 45- minute screening interviews and now I have to do a 30 minute presentation on my self/skills/work and then a 6 hour interview with technical, design, and behavioral sections. This is pretty common for my sector but its....a lot.

  • Out of curiosity...what was the pre-cake dessert? I really can't imagine what would get me ready for cake after a full meal. Strawberries maybe? Anyway, good job sticking to your drinking plan. Never easy at a big event. @Womona I bought a trailer, played around in a parking lot, drove to my place and backed it, drove…
  • Aug 1: A Aug 2-5: AF Aug 6: A Aug 7-12: AF Aug 13: AF!!!! I didn't go out so I just avoided temptation. Aug 14: day 8 AF period. Real thirsty tonight. ALMOST gave in and decided on stress eating (which can turn into a bottomless pit) and drinking a (potentially bottomless) glass of wine, but held on by the short and…
  • If you don't mind answering... how often is it still a struggle? Was there anything different about the time it stuck to your other attempts? Did you KNOW that this was the one? Fantastic work!
  • So many things going on this week.... I landed a huge presentation/interview for a job I REALLY want, mostly because it will get me back across the country to my friends, in two weeks. Current job is pretty stressful and not at all what was advertised. My mom just went into alcohol inpatient treatment, after an ultimatum…
  • Messed up and had 1.3 bottles of wine by myself last night, and a bunch of carbs I didn't need. Also had FIVE drinks out on Friday. 18AF days out of 21. (11/14 for June) so that's still pretty good. One day at a time, right?
  • 1.6lbs/week is a fast drop for only needing to lose 21 pounds (15% of your body!), but if you had a 100 pounds to lose, that would be a moderate pace for the first 21 pounds. It gets harder and harder to lose fat quickly as you get smaller. @Sand_TIger didn't mean not a big deal or a big difference to you.
  • Fantastic!!! You look great! Unless you decide that you want to lose more, now is the time to SLOOOOOOWWWLY transition to maintenance. You get a few more calories, but you should still keep doing basically the same thing for a while (tracking, exercise, food choices). Do this until the amount of food/activity that…
  • I almost broke down and bought some wine yesterday, but I knew it was easier to not put it in the cart than it would be to not drink the whole bottle later. I find that Bubly, which is a bit sweeter than la croix, hits the craving better. I generally have more of a sweet tooth when I'm not drinking much. Still sticking to…
  • Holy crap, fantastic work! Your bum and legs look amazing too. Love what heavy lifting can do!
  • Get good rain and snow gear, microspikes, and snowshoes and hiking is now a year round comfy exercise and SO gorgeous in the PNW. Kayaking is amazing, and with the right gear, doable ~8 months out of the year. I also love martial arts, particularly krav maga, lifting weights, swing or salsa dancing, rock climbing,…
  • Lovely NSV! Love my bubble baths
  • Second week in a row of AF except for Friday where I had 4 drinks with company. No depression drinking and diet on point. I'm pretty proud of myself.
  • Today is day 6 AF, but I really, really want a drink tonight. Too tired for company, just wanting to bury myself in a bottle of wine... and a pizza... and a sleeping pill. Which is exactly the night that needs to be AF, so tea and la croix it is. Sigh.
  • Same as last month. Goals in order of importance. 1. Do NOT drink alone. 2. No more than 2 alcoholic drinks in a day (with company), no more than 3 days a week. 3. Fit the calories/macros in.
  • Week before last was a fail on all 3 counts. Depression is a kitten. Last week I managed everything except the 2 drink limit. I had 4 drinks, with company, on a single day, and fit in the calories/macros.
  • Getting through a 5 hour test, no breaks, for my krav maga green belt....or maybe setting my hiking record of 34.4 miles in a single day... Basically being able to drop everything at any time and go/do it/get it done/kick the butts
  • I would suggest measuring yourself, and that will take out some of the fluctuations mentioned by Yirara There are two ways in my opinion to go about the scale, and which one is best really depends on you. 1. Get an app like Libra, and weigh yourself every day. The app will smooth out the daily fluctuations and give you a…
  • Sorta late to to the party, but current alcohol goals for the rest of May in order of importance. 1. Do NOT drink alone. 2. No more than 2 alcoholic drinks in a day (with company), no more than 3 days a week. 3. Fit the calories/macros in.
  • I have lots of little goals Daily to do list Get dressed 1 workout per day, even if just 5 mins (usually an hour, but I've used the "just 5" for sure) Go outside, even if just patio for 5 (usually an hour walk, but I've used the "just 5" for sure) Clean or organize for at least 10mins Eating window max 8 hours a day (IF…
  • I'm still finding my relationship with alcohol. That relationship has both "drink less" periods practicing moderation and AF periods. The best parts Not wasting a weekend day on a hangover! Not worrying about driving/DD/leaving a car/Uber Saves money Saves calories More control Better memory of fun times The hardest parts:…

  • Sure. That's why I said cheapest decent stuff. I don't want to buy it twice and I don't want to risk my safety. I'll pay a premium for quality to an extent but want to avoid paying for a name/brand. On the other hand I doubt that I would ever squat more than say... 200lbs so my setup doesn't have to be quite as killer as…
  • @giantrobot_powerlifting. That video was very helpful thanks!
  • I'll see if Amazon still has gym equipment. They stopped taking shipments of "non-essentials" last week. Normally, Craigslist would be best, but somehow with people stuck at home, I don't think there will be much...unless it's from people who lost their jobs 😬😕 I'll have to see what shops I have nearby. Do you think that…
