  • I've been on depo for more than 10 years now. Normally I don't have a period at all. Very occasionally up until a couple years ago, I'd randomly spot or worse....um.... MURDER SCENE. This did happen once at the gym but I think that it was a coincidence. Generally didn't see any correlation and I've done a lot of different…
  • Just coffee if its an am workout. Food doesn't seem to help any and slows down the caffeine uptake. Eat normally if its any other time but no more than a small snack within 60-90 minutes if its heavy cardio like martial arts. A turkey havarti avacado sandwich on a bagel is my go-to before LONG cardio like a belt test (5…
  • Song of Ice and Fire series, and I didn't make it through 3 episodes of the show. Eff.... I might have to change my answer to Count of Monte Christo.... Thats a hard choice.
  • Maybe.... Bench warrants don't have a statute of limitations. My ex had one that was 15 years old and it still popped up occasionally. Couldn't go on base to see a military friend, got questioned at the airport, ticketed by cops on the occasions that it got tied to his license (not always)... Its not extraditable, so as…
  • I've been in a LTR for my entire adult life. Now I'm not, and dating scares the crap out of me.
  • This ^^. Or.... Just eat the things, do the activities, have the fun ;)
  • My best friends are people that I work with (long trips to China for work and play will bond people) and people that I've met through them. Other friends are from when I was younger and THEIR friends, people that I've met through Krav Maga, even one person that I met in RL after being friends on MFP! I'm trying to use…
  • Very interesting. I don't think I've ever weighed except in the morning after a pee. I like small breakfast, med lunch, and big dinner though... so maybe.... I drink so much water though. I mean...pick a time and just track that, but it is a curiosity.
  • Calories in calories out.... I do keep them around 35-40% now. Higher leaves me hungry and unsatisfied, lower was a PITA and didn't seem to improve anything. Very little of that is desserts (not fruit) or even plain bread/potatoes/rice, but thats just personal preference. You do you and see what makes you feel satisfied…
  • They're on sale at my local Fred Meyers (and have been for at least 10 days) for 3.99. No way I'd pay $7. Anyway, I've only gotten cherry, but I went back for a second one last night. Not AMAZING, but solidly good. Love that it doesn't have stupid chocolate in it.
  • If I don't make eye contact, I don't go in front of anyone. I don't trust anyone to have any sense or awareness... Sad but true. As for OP, hes just an ahole letting his ahole flag fly. Can you imagine how awful of a life he must have? All of the negativity.... shakes head... meanwhile you're over here doing awesome and…
  • Eventually you start running (heh) out of people to outpace/trip.... Oh, I'll eat the donut...but it'll just fuel me to run faster :p I wonder if zombie-me would retain the fighting muscle memory. If so, sorry not sorry, but you're screwed ;)
  • I think it really depends on your body composition and where you lose weight from. I'm 5'9 and I'd say that 145-140 is NOT noticeable but 140-135 IS at least in a bathing suit. That was when my ribs started showing up. I prefer 140.
  • I don't actually have any desire to run more than 5-6 miles at a time. Absolutely no wish to run marathons, HMs, or anything else super long. Basically, I'd like to be able to run 5mi (maybe a 10k), have a fast 3mi (5k), and a faster 1 mile. Less than an hour for 5 miles/less than 24 minutes for 5k/less than 7 min/mi. It…
  • You've been using the lower number for months now. Are you losing at the rate you expect or faster? If you are losing properly, stick with that number. Too fast? go with the higher number. You have plenty of data if you track diligently.
  • Hard and fast rule: 1. No drinking alone. (this has multiple and not just caloric reasons) 2. Eat more to be more active to eat more! Positive spin. No guilt, no exercise as "punishment" for "bad" food. 3. Look at weekly calories/macros rather than daily. 4. BE FLEXIBLE! Move workouts around to accept new activities or…
  • Thanks for the info guys, and congrats on even more coming off!
  • I'm using my weight "trend" number from Libra (which cuts out daily fluctuations, but is also slow to acknowledge weight loss...and plateaus) Original starting weight: 173.2 Its been 4 years and I stopped maintaining starting weight : 153.9 Ultimate goal :140 03/01 :152.4 03/08 :151.9 (0.5lb loss) 03/15 :151.3 (1.1lb total…
  • When did they add the jet pack/flying portion??!?!? (at least no one can say you weren't trying hard ;) )
  • As I've been told recently: run slower. Push your legs too much and you can get stress fractures and other big issues. It takes a while for those tendons and muscles to develop even if you are generally in good shape (you can breathe) I am definitely not an expert here, but heres an article by someone who is:…
  • I am laughing...but WITH you! Good for you for finding what works (and for cheap too!) and sticking with it. Good for you :)
  • I don't mean this in any sort of bad way, but I'm confused: Wouldn't you expect to be lower in weight after a baby and all associated fluids are removed? Congrats on the baby and happy healing!
  • Love the childcare idea, spreads the wealth AND work around, and keeps the noise out of the gym too. No kids on any of the machines or running around. Several cages, racks, and benches as said over and over. My work gym is gorgeous *swoons*. Very few people use the free weights. I can often set up one cage for safely bench…
  • Got fat and sedentary. One day, just decided to change. At first I just walked.... Half hour at lunch and 10-15 at 3pm(ish), and longer on Saturday. Lost probably 10 pounds with no other exercise. Started lifting: Stronglifts because I wanted to be beastly. Stuck with it for a long time because I love how it makes me feel.…
  • I do. I want to make sure that I eat enough as well as not too much. I look to hit my weekly calorie goal. So if you can't keep much down now, I'd eat more when you're getting better. Need to take care of yourself.
  • Earl grey creme: https://www.amazon.com/Earl-Grey-Creme-Black-Teavana/dp/B00BBL7GWC Wow. So smooth and decadent with the tiniest hint of vanilla sweetness. By far my favorite. I need to buy more. Lazy (bags): Earl grey or passion by Tazo. Currently (like JUST sat down with it) drinking wild orange by tazo. Its free at my…

  • 4.0mph is NOT a slow walking pace and 5.6 isn't a walking pace at all. Not only are you rude, but also completely wrong.
  • What is making you cringe? 90% of the advice is pretty much exactly what you said.
  • So.... did my 14 hour mile with a pack yesterday, just over 5 hours of "lightly winded" count the same as a slow run? Or more basically: if you could power walk and slow jog at the same speed, is that the same thing for miles/eventually getting a faster 5k? Or is there something special about the running gait?
