Egg Fast Day 5: Weight: 256.4 Thoughts: Down .8 pounds today. Still 1lb up from lowest recent weight, taken about 2wk ago. At this point I am seriously craving meat. I cheated a bit this morning and had 30g of sausage in my eggs. It was freaking divine!!! I've purchased some really scrumptious looking pork for al pastor,…

I think they were more like crepes.

Mmmm steak. *drool*

That's exciting to hear! I'm hoping this helps with weight loss overall. It's definitely meeting the secondary goal of eating through my egg stock. Lol

Egg Fast Day 4: Weight: 257.2 Thoughts: Back down from yesterday's blip up, but still super sore and likely holding onto inflammation weight. I've opted to skip my workouts for the duration of this fast, so that we can see actual changes without inflammation gain. I feel like my stomach is a but trimmer. I'm also producing…

Egg Fast Day 3: Thoughts: I had my blood drawn today, to repeat a lipid panel from November. It struck me as super humorous that I'm monitoring my high cholesterol while I've eaten nothing but eggs for 3 days. Teehee! Today has been easy to stick with. I haven't been particularly hungry, so have had two big meals rather…

That actually sounds super yummy. I may try this in the morning! I'm happy to update folks. This has been easier than I expected, and I'm glad to be your guinea pig!

Just about anything prepared in a tandoori should be fine. Watch out for the sauces, as most are thickened with some sort of starch.

I like my magnesium and potassium in the morning. I find that I am unable to perform at the gym or work the way I can when I'm well rested. Sleep is really important! Melatonin is super helpful if you aren't sleeping restfully. I hope you feel better!

Egg Fast Day 3: AM Weight: 258.2 Thoughts: Absolutely feeling the post-leg-day inflammation, which is likely the cause of the blip on the scale. Started this AM great though, with a quick and filling breakfast. I felt less bloated and puffy this morning than I have in a week or so.

I got my lab work back. My A1C is normal. I am no longer pre-diabetic!

I've had bloat off and on all month - likely hormonal. The pressure in my tummy is like I just ate a full meal, from wakeup until evening. I find that a few bottles of water and a diuretic helps. Typically it's water retention.

They've realized we have shunned their carbs.

I wouldn't call it popular at all. Good luck finding it. But when you do.... #buyallthebacon. Canadian bacon is a touch different, at least where I'm from, in that it's totally lacking in fat  The cottage bacon has more of a fat ring around it, without being super duper fatty. Whereas you go to the strip bacon and…

Eggs are awesome! I think a huge part of what's making this so easy is the fresh eggs. I couldn't eat commercial eggs multiple times per day. :grimace:

That's a super interesting idea! PB is not technically "on plan" since it's not a pure fat, and has some carbs, but a TBSP wouldn't hurt if I'm hitting the oh-god-something-other-than-eggs stage ;)

Double yolks means the chicken who laid the egg is young, with an immature reproductive system. We have a couple of hens who gave double yolkers every day for the first couple weeks :)
-
We call this cottage bacon :)

The real puzzler is.... how many of us having given ourselves diabetes, pre-diabetes, or blood sugar issues BECAUSE we ate the way we were told?
-
The "good stuff" around here is 90-100 cal per slice, and it is thicker. Make sure there's no added sugar, too! I really like "ends and pieces" bacon for the salty smokiness, and it's significantly higher in calorie. Probably cuz it's mostly fat...

I wear fat clothes. Primarily, a sweatshirt, that when I bought a year ago was snug. I recall how embarrassed I was to have to ask for a size that they don't keep on the rack. Today I could literally fit 2 of me in that sweatshirt. I wear it to the gym, and I wrap myself in it on days I feel like quitting.

I count carbs in everything. Love me some spring mix!
-
I'm hoping so! I'm waiting for results from blood work. :)

Less bloated :) Still up 2 pounds, but that may just be 2lb that don't want to go away. Headaches and nausea have been pretty cruddy intermittently the past few days. I think some of this may be related to stress.

I can relate to the super heavy bleeding and chronic pain. There are absolutely reasons to take the pill, I just don't think it's for everyone. Fortunately, having some of my equipment removed has had a major impact on my overall reproductive function, and I'm feeling great. But, a year ago, not being on BC would have been…

I met with my doctor on Wednesday, and informed him that I went off all my meds. He tried to inch me back towards the BC with questions like "HOW regular are you?" when I informed him my cycle regularity had improved. I informed him that I bleed like a normal person, rather than having heavy, debilitating periods, and…

I've tried so many. I've joked that I've given just about every form of BC a go in the past 10 years. My most recent (past year-ish) has been Ocella. It's one of the only ones that doesn't make me throw up, although those effects were starting to creep up with the diet change.

Interesting that you mention eczema. My son's first reaction to a severe dairy allergy was horrible eczema as an infant. I've had a flare up of eczema on my scalp, knuckles, legs, and elbows. It's manageable but my skin is dry and scaley where it usually isn't. Possible food reaction?

When I'm feeling like crap, a cube of bullion in a cup of hot water does the trick. It's about 2,500mg of sodium at once.

Nice!!! Congrats on the MAJOR health improvement!
