I realized today that I feel good naked. Sorry if that's TMI. Lol

I've been fat and sick. Now I'm less fat, and healthy. For me, the tipping point was hitting 334 pounds and being diagnosed as pre-diabetic, at 24. Not cool. Knowing that I'm insulin resistant and have PCOS, LCHF seemed to be the obvious choice. I'm no longer keto, but am still well within the low carb range, and I find I…

Too funny! Belly laughs!!

I did "soft pretzels" once. I think they were primarily cheese and flax seed, if I remember correctly. They were similar to bread sticks and would be pretty yummy with garlic spread.

Thank you everyone! I've pointed him in the (hopefully) right direction!

The last time he was in a gym was literally decades ago lol. Although his work has kept him fairly active. We're going to have to play around with it a bit. I just wanted to make sure that he can start lifting without intentionally gaining weight first. He gains SO SLOW!

10g likely won't hurt you. I'd go for it if it'll make you feel better. You might also try a strong cup of peppermint tea first. That often helps me.

Now we can stalk you. Just kidding. Lol

Panda_Poptarts... When my husband and I met (online on a movie review site- Flixster) my avatar was a panda gif that rolled back and forth, back and forth. He called me Panda before he knew my name. Poptarts because it's symbolic of the total lack of mindfulness with which I used to eat. Did I really enjoy poptarts? Nope.…

Typically it should look like this: - Protein is a goal to hit - Carbs are a ceiling to stay under - Fat is to satiety You'll be just fine if you're getting the minimum daily protein needs for your body. Remember that protein is important to preserve lean mass, so you do want to be eating it. I recommend supplementing with…

I'm a former pre-diabetic. Keto for 6 months totally fixed my A1C, and it's been in good standing even with a higher carb count (still low carb - under 100g a day most of the time). Google "Keto" anything, and you'll find lots of yummies. There are low carb pasta replacements, too! Cauliflower mac is actually really…

Can I just say it's super heartwarming that your veggie husband is willing to learn how to cook a good steak?!

This does not look fun! Lol

Typically "light" beer has a lower carb count than alcohol-free beer. I say if you want it and it fits your macros, go for it!

I completely agree. I'm finishing up my Master's in professional counseling, and want to ensure that I'm as healthy as can be before I start taking patients. I'm glad I took this step :)

You say "it went so much better before", and yet you were cranky and achy. Maybe that's NOT "going better". If you're feeling good now, and you're progressing towards good physical and mental health, that is so much bigger than the size of your pants. Weight loss WILL follow. Stay the course. You're doing wonderfully.

I agree. I struggled with nonstop dizziness after a couple months of keto. I'm suspecting low blood sugar, since my electrolytes were on point (via blood test). I've found a happy medium, I think, since upping my carbs to the 70 - 90 gram range and reincorporating some grains. I still have much, MUCH more energy than I…

I have seen some folks choose to go super low cal / low carb, then do a refeed somewhere around days 5 - 7. They typically up their calories close to maintenance for that day, go high carb low fat, then repeat the cycle. In my opinion, this is a trend for folks who aren't fat adapted, and feel that it's necessary to…

I use corn starch. A don't see a tsp in a whole pot having much of a carb impact.

I did creamed broccolini. It was this beautiful flavor marriage between roasted broccoli and creamed spinach. *drool*

Oi, I hear you. Absolutely one of my favorite nuts. When I was on vacation in Virginia, I picked up a bag, and they were the saltiest cashews I'd ever eaten - which means they were utterly addicting. The bag lasted a few days, but I definitely ate them more than intended. I can't keep more than 2 or 3 ounces of macadamia…

You might consider checking out meetup.com. Our local Meetup site has a LARP group... that uses real weaponry. These lovely nerdy folk meet up at a local park once a week, dragging blunted longswords, axes, and daggers, and fight magically amongst one another. It's a real joy to watch, and looks like a hell of a workout.

Have you re-calculated your calorie goals since dropping 19 pounds? 26 inches is an INCREDIBLE transformation. I'm a slow loser, too, averaging around 20 pounds this last year. It's ridiculously frustrating, but I'm not doing anything wrong. There's a very good chance you aren't, either.

I don't think I updated! My garden recovered from the hail storm just fine. My collard greens are darned near prehistoric, weighing in at an average of 250g PER LEAF!! My swiss chard and kale is growing faster than we can eat it, and my tomatoes... well, they're taking over the sidewalk and then some. The tomato plants are…
