I have been doing this for a few weeks now. I slipped in the beginning a couple times but been doing quite well. Except I'm not losing weight much.
I started at 240. Dropped to 235 and am now at 238. My clothes aren't fitting any differently either. I'd had success a few years ago lost like 13 lbs but ended up way off plan and not returning to it too now. I do feel better most days. Less tired at the end of the day. It is tom currently so I know I could be bloated and it may change next week but seriously I'm just venting lol.

You have two things going against you right now.
Your TOM water weight gain which is masking any loss.
And your expectations. Not everyone loses massive amounts of weight and if you slipped up in the beginning, your body may be confused as to what you are trying to do and be holding onto stuff.
Sometimes your body needs to heal itself internally before weight drops off. Low carb is great for healing internal inflammation and a variety of other problems.
You said you feel better most days and are less tired. There's a plus right there. Sometimes it just isn't about numbers, but for health too.
Keep up with your electrolytes, eat on plan and be kind to yourself. It will come off.7 -

I'll also add that you can lose quite a lot of day before clothes will fit any differently. I had lost almost 10 of my total 30 pounds and my clothes were the same. I had taken measurements in the beginning so I decided to compare at one point when I was confused about it. I had lost several inches from around my rib cage! Plus from thighs and calves, my neck and arms... None of those areas would affect the way clothing fit.
We concentrate on wanting it to come off our bellies so we aren't paying attention to anything else.
At this point, I'm within 8 pounds of my goal weight and of all things, I had to start buckling my watch on a smaller hole recently! Like really?!?!? Lol
You've lost weight and no doubt lost more fat than you realize. You're feeling the benefits of this WOE. It's working. If you've got things more important for your to body to focus on healing, it will do that first. Weight will be dealt with later.
My daughter was a very sick T1D that put on 30 pounds in a matter of weeks upon going Keto. It's been 6 months now and she's only started losing some of the extra weight recently. She did need to gain weight though, but she gained more than she needed and I'm convinced that it's for healing purposes.4 -
Just stay the course. After 6 weeks I was beginning to think this was a huge fail for me, but just in the last couple of days I notice that my smaller bras fit properly all of a sudden.
I'm adjusting my expectations to see the big picture -- one in which I stay small by developing entirely new eating habits that are practical in the long term, a diet I can live with for the next thirty-odd years. I won't be able to do that if I rush things.0 -
Thanks. I think I'm frustrated because It went so much better before. But also I was horribly cranky and achy so at least now I think I'm doing it right. I need to work on night eating but other than that I think I'm doing it0

I get hungry before bed, too. I find a teaspoon of coconut oil mixed with a teaspoon of almond butter takes care of the growlies pretty well.1

I wonder if you would like intermittent fasting?
You can basically stick to coffee, tea and water all day until it's time to start eating. Then you eat your days calories within your "eating window" and stop when it's time. Most of the fasting time is spent asleep, so you really only skip breakfast and lunch in favor of a nice big dinner and even eating after dinner until it's time to stop.0 -

You say "it went so much better before", and yet you were cranky and achy. Maybe that's NOT "going better". If you're feeling good now, and you're progressing towards good physical and mental health, that is so much bigger than the size of your pants. Weight loss WILL follow. Stay the course. You're doing wonderfully.1 -

I guess it's bending the rules a bit, but adding 1/2 Tbs coconut oil to coffee or tea as needed may be enough to ward off any tummy growling and help you get through the fasting period. You could always reduce it as you adjust to this style and your body adapts to it. In time, you may not have to put effort into the fasting period at all.0 -
Intermittent fasting once every blue moon is good for me but I can't do the BP coffee thing more than two days in a row or else I get hungry and headache-y, and last time I did it, ate way over my cals at the end of the day. I love coffee in so many forms, but I would rather eat my calories, mostly. And I love breakfast food (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.), so there's that.
Sounds to me like you're doing great, just getting discouraged. Keep in mind that time/age is a factor in weight loss, too. The last time I tried LC, it was over ten years ago. I had the whole induction headache, etc. I didn't have any of that this time.
I know it sounds cliche but water, water, water. Even after 8 glasses for my day, if I get what I think are hungry feelings, it almost always goes away with some water! Hunger/thirst can feel like the same thing First thing in the morning, I drink at least one whole 8 oz glass full. Then I decide what I'm hungry for, for breakfast.
TOM/shark week always throws me off, too. I'm only about 9 weeks in and 17lbs lost total, but then hop on a scale the day before I'm supposed to start bleeding like a stuck pig, and I'm up almost a pound or pound and a bit. Gotta love the water weight/bloat :P I think this past month, I just kept my sodium about the same and drank a bit more water to flush, flush, flush. I hate retention, especially in my joints and legs, it's uncomfortable. Thank goodness for compression stockings! I sit on my butt all day at work so they are amazing with making my legs feel normal aka not heavy and tight.
