Typically "light" beer has a lower carb count than alcohol-free beer.

I say if you want it and it fits your macros, go for it!

I have had Michelob Ultra this past week (1-2 a night) and still lost .6 :) It has 2.6 carbs per bottle! Woohoo!

O'Doul's has 13-18 carbs per bottle depending on the type. If it fits into your carb allowance and that is how you want to "spend your allowance", go for it.

You like the taste but do not particularly want the alcoholic effect?
Pregnant, designated driver, or just do not like getting tipsy, or like my workmate who gets drunk after two drinks, but loves the taste of beers?

NA beer does still have some alcohol in it, not much but some. if you are looking for a beer to fit into lc, go with mich ultra or corona light, I've found corona light to have more flavor than mich but it has a few more carbs as well. be carful with any of them though and increase your electrolytes accordingly or you can end up in a world of hurt.

I've never found NA beer to taste very good, but neither do the lc options either so its up to personal preference. if I want to drink when lc I usually go with vodka/soda or vodka with a lc mixer. if I feel like having beer I'll typically go for the real stuff

I only ever have beer if we go for an Indian and we really fancy one, one Corona (I am GF) between the two of us. Perfect. I do however prefer vodka or prosecco.

Like the taste of beer but don't like the buzz.

In Ontario we have Sleemans beer. They make one called "Clear 2.0" which has 2.0 carbs per bottle.
And it tastes pretty good. Has 4.0% alcohol and 80 calories.
Still, if you drink 5 in one evening, that's 400 calories .
    Have to watch them too

I used to really like Sleeman's....now all I can have is Corona (one of the least tempting Mexican beers) or really expensive GF beers like Estrella Damm. I miss all the great local craft beers around here :'(

@canadjineh Shame you can't get the Sleemans any more.
Once I got looking into the carbs it's nearly all that I drink now.
Occasionally I still drop into a craft brewery and indulge. B)

My favourite is the Granville Island Lion's Winter Ale - if it is possible for a beer to taste kinda like dark chocolate, that's what this is. YUM
