I have 120 pounds to loss and that sounds so daunting to me but after reading your post there isn't any reason I can't do this. I need to get healthy so I can enjoy my grandkids and great grandkids. I'm afraid to be 70 and not be able to get around. Thanks for sharing your story and for being such a great insperation.

Please feel free to add me. I have the same issues, I love to work in the yard but lately I don't even have the energy for that. Hopefully we can keep each other motivated.

Yes, I'm having the same problems. I had back surgery in 1994 to cut out a disk that was causing me a great deal of sciatica pain. Did great upto a few years ago and now have the pain back again. Last year I lost 43 pounds using MFP and like you was put on meds (steroids) that caused me to gain half of the weight back. Now…

Everyone's right, you need more calories. When your body doesn't get enough calories it will start holding onto any you put in because it thinks going into starvation mode.

Hi, this is my second time around on MFP and am starting fresh. I,ve been using Weight Watchers with a lot of success but my daughter just joined MFP and wanted me to join her, so here I am. I tend to be very active on the site. Add me if you'd like I'm looking for new friends too.

I started at 307 pounds and have issues with my back and knees. I used and still use an exercise ball. It really did help quite a bit to help start to be more active and will strengthen your core. I can walk much better and farther now.

My oldest son did a juice cleanse once and said he'd never do it again. He didn't feel so great and did not lose a pound. He also said it was very expensive and not worth doing again because he saw no benefit. I'm not trying to persuade you either way because ultimately you will decide what's best for you.

I agree 100% with you. In the past if I had cheated it was an excuse for me to quit because felt I had ruined my diet. MFP has shown me that I can slurge once in awhile and I can still succeed in losing weight. Good luck to you, you seem to have it together.

I'm so sorry for you and you're situation. First, if you're paying the majority of the bills there isnt any reason you should still be in the position you're in. Move out, you can support yourself. You shouldnt feel obligated to support your mother financially or emotionally. You are an adult and responsible for your own…

Once you get into the habit of logging it becomes second nature. It helps me immensely to log everything I put in my mouth. Good luck.

Hello Jo, you're right about support from people who are going through some of the same things you are. 175 pounds lost is wonderful and you should be very proud of yourself. I'm new to MFP too and have already meet some great people. Don't be afraid to post a lot the support you find here can be life changing.
