Well, am I or am I not supposed to eat back the calories I burn (or a percentage of them) in order to lose weight effectively without doing any damage? I'm not interested in a fast loss, but in a loss that's healthy and sustainable. When I've worked out for a +1000 cal burn, my total calories to consume for the day was…

Hi! I'm so confused. My base calorie intake is listed as 1200 cal daily. If I work out, for say 800 calories, then I'm supposed to finish the day having eaten a total of 2000 calories, right? When I calculated my BMR, it said 1720. Considering I wanted to cut out around 500 cal. a day, that's where the 1200 daily total…

I'm a steady logger although for some reason MFP zeroed my count. I've logged in everyday since I've joined

Hi! I hear a little frustration there. Remember that this is NOT a race and it's all about you. Don't focus on what you looked like before you had your child (I've had three, so I DO understand), but find something, anything that you like about yourself NOW and start from there. You really need to take it one day at a time…

I can tell what kind of weather we're having thanks to my hair. Very frizzy = high humidity, Shiny and glossy = dry heat. I have very few days where I dominate my hair instead of it dominating me (and everyone around me within a 1 ft radius). I hardly EVER go to the salon because NOBODY know what to do with it... I've been…

Hi! Seek friends and ye shall find! This is a great site for support and advice. I, like you, lost and then gained etc. The thing to remember is to find a method that works for you...something you can live with and that won't make you suffer. Glad you've decided to join. Make good use of all the apps on this site…

I have a friend who told me I could 'eat' whatever I wanted...the trick was to chew the food into a pulp and then spit it out. It's supposed to trick your body into thinking it's had a meal. Can you imagine yourself fine dining somewhere: 'Excuse me, waiter, could I please have something to spit my chewed up food…

I'm pretty senisitive about people commenting negatively on my weight...I always have been. What I hate even more is people telling me that I'm 'cute' because of my roundness. For goodness sakes, I'm a mother of three...I don't do 'cute'! Anyway, it's what I see in the mirror that counts. I'm not going to say that what…

...and my third child just turned 7 in feb, so needless to say I'm in the same boat...never lost the baby weight and added extra padding to what was already there. Definitely time to move on!

If they are your friends, they'll understand. Unfortunately, if your get togethers usually focus primarily on food and drink, odds are that you'll eventually drift away from them and end up finding new friends who adhere to your new lifestyle. It could be though that your girlfriends, seeing your progress and dedication,…
Seeing someone share their weight loss success and inferring that as fat shaming could be a sign that one is not satisfied with their current weight, not matter how much they claim to love it.
Yes!
