My goal: Not to get run over by the straggler bus or die. LOL

What won't I want to hear? You are stronger, use to running from track, and trained in fitness? I'm a Saint Bernard chasing lint, with a touch of my grandfather being Lassie. I so do not compare. I am soooo excited! I think running a race was somewhere on my bucket list...ya know? I just googled 5K and my city... There it was...LOL I wanted "proof" that I am doing something...I love how I feel now, but the "proof" (ie; T-shirt??? LOL) was what I wanted. YOU CAN DO IT!

I think one of the other things I have on my mind is that it is a prediction run. You have to "guess your speed." I think that is not only for a prize, but for lineup also. Does anyone know how you line up for these things? Do I just say "40 minutes" so I can account for shuffling at the beginning? It is from 9:00 - 10:00…
-
Thanks girlie!!! I will let you know how it goes...Let me know how you do also! YEY US!

Hokay for being a bad runner...and I MEAN bad... ::clump:: ::clump:: I am running a 38.35 minutes for a 5K. Will this be too embarrassing to show up running this slow? I am sure there will be walkers, but I would hate to be out walked...with my run! I have tiny strides being only 5'2"... Is this embarrassing to even show…

Hi there MFP'ers! I'm running/briskly walking/going by ambulance for my first 5K tomorrow! YEY ME! I am no gazelle when I run, as I have always referred to myself as a Saint Bernard chasing lint. :noway: But I am excited. :drinker: Could those who run these or personal running for 5K's or 3.1 miles give me…

I'm almost afraid to admit this...But I will...I'd give up going out to eat and pedicures for mine! And sometimes the only thing perdy in my life are my feet. LOL It has been worth every dime. I bought mine at Target...it's a Sportline.

Thanks!!! I think without my HRM I wouldn't have kept going for so long. It was my only running pal when others gave out after only a few weeks. LOL VARRRRROOOOM!

I love my HRM! It keeps me moving when I am out and about. I usually look at it and think, "Oh, I can go to 500 when I'm beat at 460. I love it!

One day of crazy eating isn't going to cause you to gain and sustain weight. It might cause you to have salt water weight, or cause your tummy to fill. But do not stress over tiny weight. I am sure you do know that, but it is nice to hear, right? One pound = 3500 calories burning or gaining So with that math, you would of…

Weight loss...Here is what I keep in mind along the way. Are you burning more calories complaining about losing weight or doing something about it? How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time... How do you lose weight? One bite at a time... Each day that you eat healthier, workout one more time, and praise yourself for…
