Don't stress it. Water, food that's being digested, salt levels, muscle repairs all contribute to weight gain. Watch for trends. If weight continues to creep up and you're not noticing any difference in fit or the fit is getting tighter, then look at your goals. But fluctuation on the scale is completely normal. For…

I think it depends on if this is a temporary diet or a lifestyle change for you. Me personally, it's a total lifestyle change. I cannot and will not go back to eating the old way, it's just not good for me. I take back up food to all social situations just in case there isn't anything I can eat. I'm a celiac so it's easy…

Minus your fiber count from your carbs. They are carbs, but they are not carbs your body absorbs. I have hypoglycemia. Part of the first few weeks is dealing with that when you drop your carbs. Increase your fat intake, keep your protein strong, and eat several small meals a day. You are teaching your body how to live…

I did that too. Third time round I'm halfway through my weight loss goal. My underlying issues with my past starts and restarts are thus. 1. My diet allowed for unhealthy carbs. Allowing carbs to stay in my diet. I am a carbaholic. I can never have just one serving of high carb foods. It's not a matter of will power or…

Eh, I just find a way to make whatever I want to cheat with keto friendly. There are so many good blogs out there that have done all the hard work. For me there's no point to cheating. Cheating makes me bloated, feel sick, get crazy cravings, and in general makes it much harder to eat how I want to eat.

I started tracking only about a week ago, before that I was just working to eliminate as many carbs as possible without tracking, but now that I'm at my halfway mark I felt it could be important to start tracking. My goal is to stay between 30-50. My diet is full of yummy baked goods. My daughter calls my protein waffles…

For me personally, low carb is for me. My current aim is to be between 30-50 minus fiber count and I've been able to stick to it pretty easily. I'm down 50 lbs with what has felt like almost no effort, which has never been true before. I have been at my current calorie counts in the past and the scale wouldn't hardly…

I know this discussion is months old and the OP is already long gone, but I have the same goals and I am so pumped. I am using a low calorie no deprivation plan and so far it's been amazing. I don't even feel like I am dieting. Most days I don't have enough calories, but I am not fighting starvation mode either because…

I just joined this group. My goal is to lose 90 lbs in just over a year. It's a lot of weight but it's just under 2 lbs a week. If I can't do it in a year, then I'll take a little longer to reach my goal. I want to enlist as a commissioned officer. By that time I will have my Masters in Social Work.

My name is Sara, I'm enlisting in the Air Force May 2015 if I'm ready. I'm going in as a Commissioned Officer as a Clinical Social Worker. I'm really excited about this opportunity. I have 90 lbs to lose and 11" off my waist. If it takes me a little longer to get ready, that's okay too, but I'm dedicated to this goal. I…

Try taking in more fiber. I love using Konjac Gluconnaman powder. I mix it in my smoothie if I'm having that for breakfast or in a cup of plain almond milk right before a meal. (I can't have regular milk.) Mix it in a blender if you do it and drink it right away. The fiber is natural and not only keeps me feeling full and…

Ditch the notions that you need serious and long cardio to lose weight. Look up HIIT, which stands for high intensity interval training. Focus more on strength training than cardio. Bodyweight excercises when performed in succession are a cardio workout, but they're building the muscle you need to lose the fat. Separate…

Actually like a subset alcholics some people are instantly addicted to sugar and get massive cravings if they have any at all. I am one of those. Even complex carbs if I don't have enough protein with them will give me massive sugar cravings. When I eat more carbs I literally can't think of anything else but food. Sugar is…

Another study showed sugar addiction is stronger than cocaine. Which explains why it's so hard to say no. I am a sugar addict. I try very hard to eat it moderately but I usually fail. I am definitely heading toward the road of cutting it out all together because the cravings are so powerful. Two of my other sisters are…

I fail to see how that makes a point. You say it says to eat protein after a workout so how does that debunk the advice to eat protein after a meal? Chocolate milk has been found to be one of the best post recovery drinks but it's important to have enough supportive protein and carbs for your workout. ETA: They have proven…

Listen to your body. It will happily tell you when you're doing something wrong.

It's usually the foods I love but can't stop eating. I have two of those. Potato chips and nuts. I keep those far away from my house.

Teetering between and H and an I here. Can't find a bra to fit me to save my life. So I wear a tight tank top, then a tight shirt along with a bra that's too big around the circumference but too small in the cup. And then hold them myself if the excercise gets too rambunctious. I like my breasts though and they don't look…

I add in all my own recipes and as for things like your homemade cheese I would suggest finding a comparable commercial cheese and use it as a stand in for your homemade cheese info wise.

It's a hoax as far as I can tell. Herbs and dietary supplements are still outside of the purview of the FDA. It's how stevia made it onto the market and how many vitamins are sold with no set amounts.

The stride between shoed runners and barefoot runners are completely different including how they land each step. I have to shake my head at runners who switch shoes and run all out expecting it to be great. Slow and gentle is the key to switching to minimalist designs. You have to change the entire way you run and that…

Lots of good suggestions for food, but I want to suggest to you to bump up your fitness profile. Like when I first came on I was sedentary, but I realized after reaching a stall at 40 lbs lost that I had enough lean muscle and daily activity that I was actually lightly active. Bumping up that increased my calories by 200.…

Sounds like you need new friends. Like the saying goes "With friends like these, who needs enemies?" I don't keep any close friends because my family takes the majority of my time so no problems there.

Try cardio circuit training.

It sounds like you only have scale goals. You need other goals as well because the body doesn't always want to cooperate especially when it's busy building muscle. Also the scale doesn't tell the whole story. It doesn't tell you water weight or muscle weight or fat weight. It just gives you a total number. Your scale goals…

Nah, just learn to make it yourself. So you can learn to love the aroma and eat it! The crusts aren't too hard to make, just make sure you brush them with olive oil before you bake it, that way the toppings won't sog it up. If you can't have cheese like me, use guacamole or hummus, or a homemade non-cheese cheese sauce.…

Gluten, oats, corn, dairy, and refined sugar free here. There are tons of foods out there, don't be afraid to explore, add in your recipes in the food section and it works like it does for everyone else. Welcome and good luck.

If you have problems with milk then you could have problems with the whey protein powder. That's the only thing I could think of, that and getting too much protein.

Mornings after breakfast is cleaned up and settled. Not sure how I'll work it all out once I'm back in school this fall, but I'll figure something.

I use the wii fit as well. My BMI hasn't changed even though I've been losing inches the past few weeks instead of pounds as it uses a system of averages rather than actually testing how much fat you're actually carrying. The wii fit is consistent though so it works.
