@60to35 - I wish I still had my cassettes but hubby made me throw them away and replace them with CDs which are now useless. LOL!

Hi all. Got my SL workout done for the day, plus some extras, then a 30 minute run. While I do like SL, I have to get some cardio in because that's just my thing. I like the rush running gives me :) My shoulder bothered me a bit when doing the overhead presses but I managed to finish my reps at 50 lbs and good form. I'll…

@megemrg - I can't help you out with those areas either since I'm short, with flat butt, tight hips, squishy tummy, heavy thighs, and probably clumsy too since I always seem to get bruises on my legs. I'm hoping all this lifting will help out. This is to everyone else: what are your macros and how much protein do you eat?…

Hi all. I meant to post yesterday but forgot. WEEK: 6 / Day 3 (Disregard last post. This workout was done yesterday) Squats: 5 x 6 @ 100 lbs. Bench Press: 5 x 6 @ 60 lbs. Darn the shoulder. It hurts again! Errrrr! Rows: 5 x 6 @ 60 lbs. Cardio: bicycling and 3.5 mile run Macros: back to IF 16:8 since I ate so badly this…

If I lift, I don't eat back my calories. If I do over 45 minutes of cardio a day, I'll half to 75% back.
-
@modmom1 - I've always had weak shoulders so I'll need take it slow. My highest bench press was up to 85 lbs. but then realized my form wasn't good. Once I did it correctly (bench all the way down to your chest), it was harder than I expected. @WithWhatsLeft - I know about the vino so I'm cutting down to one glass ever…

I'm 46 and ready to motivate but also need help too. I'm fairly active on and off the boards so let's help each other out.

Hi ladies. 46 and 5'1" petite lady who's fairly active doing SL and running and bicycling. I've been doing SL for a few months now but have slightly injured my rotator cuff and trying to get back to it by increasing weight and reps gradually. My downfall: I'm a foodie and love the vino and try to incorporate it within my…

Hi all. Hope you had a fabulous weekend. I sure did and indulged heavily so it's back on track with exercise. I have SL planned today (I know that it's a Tuesday), plus the weather had been cooperative so rode my bike in to work today, and I may have a quick short run. WEEK: 6 / Day 1 Squats: 5 x 6 @ 95lbs. Bench Press: 5…

Happy Friday everyone. I can say that I exercised 6 days this week and I'm ready for a rest. Good thing the 3 day weekend is here. WEEK: 5 / Day 3 Squats: 5 x 5 @ 95lbs. Perfectly done. Won't go up until next week. I swear my thighs look huge and the fat just doesn't want go away. Overhead Presses: 5 x 6 @ 45lbs. The same…

Welcome. I'm fairly active on and off MFP. 40's suck in terms of weight loss but we're all in the together. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

@kerryatoon - Welcome to the group. The more support we get, the merrier. Good luck with SL. I liked it from the first time I started it since it was so easy and convenient with these set of exercises. @iwhayes820- You are amazing and you seem to get stronger by the week! Keep up the great work. @DDHFree - thanks about the…

5minty - Sorry to hear about your shoulder problems. Sounds kind of bad if all those shoulder exercises were bothering you. Good luck with the MRI and hope it's nothing major. My shoulder it feeling okay even after the overhead press yesterday. I was expecting some residual pain but so far so good. It's mostly achy now and…

Happy Monday everyone. The time is going by quick and unfortunately I was supposed to be starting on WEEK 6 but I'm on WEEK 5 due to my shoulder and a major deload on all exercises. My week started yesterday (Sunday) with a 22 mile bike ride. It felt to get outside since I hadn't done any bike or runs in a while. WEEK: 6 -…

Keep up the protein intake too. You should be eating at least .8 - 1 gram of protein per your body weight. From what I hear, it takes quite some time before you see the definition you want and that's with strict eating. I'm in the same boat, but my eating habits are all over the place. Good luck!

Sorry I've been MIA. I'm resting my shoulder since I'm still have problems, plus it was busy at work working 12 hours day. I literally had no time this week to exercise and I was just too tired. This week will bring on a lot of deloading and will test the shoulder out once again. Have a a great weekend everyone.

It's finally Friday and the sun is finally out after 16 days. Things are looking up. Here's my SL workout for the day. Squats: 5 x 6 @ 110 lbs. Upped the reps but staying on the same weight. Bench P: 5 x 6 @ 75 lbs. Deloaded 10 lbs since I'm iffy about my shoulder. I also placed risers underneath the bench so that my feet…

Hi ladies. Happy Thursday. Today is rest day for me. No exercise whatsoever. No IF either just because I need a break, plus I have lunch plans at work. My shoulder is feeling better after my overhead presses yesterday. I felt like one of my tendons clicked into place after the lift and for some reason it felt better last…

DDHFree - You'd be surprised how much strength you really have when you dead lift. I still can't believe I can lift that although it's only 1 set. I really don't think I could do multiple sets.

Happy Hump Day. I was planning on skipping my SL workout today due to the shoulder but decided against it and went forward with it. I upped my reps instead of weights. Squats: 5x6 @110 lbs. OH Press: 5x6 @ 45lbs. I didn't want to lift 60 lbs. today because of the shoulder. It still twinges when I pull at things although…

Iwhayes820 - great job on those overhead presses. I still can't go beyond 55 lbs. just yet and now with my shoulder hurting, I may be deloading. Gotta love those deadlifts!

Yep, that's what my gym peeps tell me. It's all about what you put in your mouth. Exercise is secondary.
-
Modmom1 - You are an inspiration. I would love get your input re: weight training and nutrition and how you went about losing all the weight. I'm currently doing SL 5x5 and have been doing this program on and off for the past year but want to progress by getting lean and losing fat. I run about 2 - 3x a week. My macros are…

47 here and it's that much harder to lose. I've got 15-20 lbs. to lose. I'm fairly active both on and off the boards but have a hard time with my eating habits. If I can change that, I would probably lose the weight I want.
-
Autumnfilly20 - Did you get a chance to read up on the SL 5x5 ( http://stronglifts.com/5x5/) because it tells you all the information you need to know especially if are new to lifting? With that, I started out on a 45 lb. weight lifting bar and gradually increased weights every workout. There were some days when I couldn't…

DDHFree - Thank you for taking time for giving me your opinion and I know it takes time and patience, something that I don't have, but I will persevere! Like you said, I have to stay strict with my deficit. MFP has me eating 1290 calories (listed myself as a non-active) plus the extra cardio calories accrued if I want to…
