I could do that on a trampoline perhaps maybe.

I should take my afternoon head desk nap now.

lol. Then I know I don't have a chance! I mean who can compete with this?
-
This got me curious, so I measured my wingspan at my office - may not be entirely accurate but close. About 72" (aka 6 feet.) Does this qualify my arms as stubby? Will I ever play in the NBA?

Feed. Resupply. Feed.

Nice work! Sorry to hear about your accident.

Hey thanks! I appreciate that TFastsino! I really do like benching though - always have - actually, kinda like everything I do in the gym, but that's just me.
-
That's a handy tool. Says at my current weight and what I pressed it was 1.4. I checked it again when I was 25 at 185 and my 1RM was 315 I pressed 1.7 times my weight. Neat. I've booked marked this next to my other tools folder.

I won't try this until middle of next week sometime after I finish this program. Next week is an off week before I embark on a (new) old one. I'll report back, but I've already lowered my expectations.
-
lol. It's too bad that instead of reacting for whatever reason, she could have corrected me on what a reasonable expectation of what women can lift. She failed at an opportunity to educate someone. Le sigh.
-
That sounds awesome to me. You should try it. Currently I am doing some high volume training 10 sets of 10 at 60% of my 1RM and I am in the last week of that thankfully. It's a killer but you feel pretty pumped after that. But really Kelly, I had no idea what is possible for women to lift since I am a solo lifter at global…

That probably want I will end up doing, might even make it to 10 reps - my 20 prediction maybe an example of "eyes bigger than my stomach." Sweet! Let us know how you do! My all time was 315 when I was 25, I do want to hit that 315 again and I am thinking sometime this winter. I'm going to go back to my old linear program…

Again thanks... but really I have only myself to blame. I really got into a comfort zone back then and didn't want to learn how to train through the pain, but this time around I committed myself to squatting. My numbers aren't very impressive, but I have my form dead-nuts and the weight I can move does makes me happy. At…

When I was a young buck, the only training method I knew was a linear method. Did that for years. (We're talking 1990 - 2000 or thereabouts.) Every week I'd go for a new PR on the bench. Meet it, raise it by 10 pounds. Those 2.5 pound plates was a surrender to me. At one time I was benching 245 for four sets of 8. I am way…

I appreciate that... however, nope its not an injury -- well not a recent injury (an older one sorta) -- which is partly to blame for that. I've got this knee thing (Osgood Slaughter) that pains me (still does) and scared me from quad training for many years. I should squat with my arms.
-
Me dbmata? If so, yeah sorta injured.
-
Lol. Nice. I can blame my sucky dl on my stubby arms.
-
To be a member of the long arms club, how long does one's arms need to be?
-
^That. Once you get your body into the proper position and your form is locked-in, you're more like a spring than anything in this movement - just ah, don't bounce the bar off your chest.

I'm a taller than Johnny C. From my profile: Height: 5'11" SW: 199 pounds; 18% bf (03-23-2014) CW: 196 pounds; 10.20% bf (10-22-2014) GW: 205~ more muscle (hopefully by: 03-23-2015) Calories: 3,551 - or as much as I want (Maintenance) 1RM (As of 09-2014) Bench: 275 Squat: 285 DL: 395

Well, I wanted to be inclusive and I didn't want this thread to be just about the boys and I just, well, randomly picked 135#s. :)
-
Thanks much!
-
Thanks for that. Actually, coming off this high volume program may be a good time to test it after all.
-
Thanks, no way I'd hit 225x20 then.
-
Thanks for the information. I didn't play sports in HS, I skated and snowboarded.
-
Hmmm... that's good to know. I guess 20 is not very realistic and the last 6 weeks I've been high volume training. I hate lowering expectations, but I am still going to test my 225 anyway - at least to know.
-
You see where I am going with it. Cool.
-
Yes. That's why I thought I test it.
-
Never read the bb.com forums. 185? I bet I could crush a million of those. Maybe 185 would make more sense.
-
That makes more sense. The reason why I brought the 225 up is that yesterday I was trying to find out if my biceps were as big as Clay Matthews (Packers were winning so I got bored) and after reading combine stats of other football players when they were rookies, a stat they frequently gave was the 225 rep max.
