I will look up how to set up a group by the end of this week. I like your suggestions Alex and you are motivating me to put my walking boots on when I'm feeling lazy. Super progress for you this week. Well done everyone, such a positive start to the month, how can we not smash through our targets?

I've just added The Power of Less to my 'books I need to read list, thank you Alex. Maybe we will start the first Myfitnesspal reading group. I understand what you are saying about procrastinating when you know that you should go out for a walk, groups like this help to motivate us. I have found that listening to a podcast…

Worcester, feel free to add me. My diary is open and a work in progress!

I'm not there yet but I know that's where I'm heading. I haven't eaten meat for over 20 years but I still eat fish. Feel free to add me and we can learn together.

It is hard but you have to make you and your health a priority every day, after a while it becomes second nature. Make some friends here and make yourself accountable to them. Find a 'lifestyle friend' at home to do something active with on a regular basis. Start by keeping an accurate diary for a week and then decide on…

Hello everyone, I am new to this group and am looking forward to a challenge like this. I want to walk at least 100 miles during May. Happy walking!

I am a very good home cook with knowledge of many cuisines but feel like I'm starting from scratch when learning about how to cook without sugar and gluten. I've had some happy experiments so far. If a low carbohydrate, vegetarian, gluten free and sugar free lifestyle appeals to anyone then I'd be happy to share the…

Ate well, slightly less lazy than yesterday.

If you open your diary then there will probably be a few suggestions that could be made.

Total veg out day today. I had warm and comforting food but was within target.

Today I ate a lot of vegetables! Stayed within calories, walked, walked again and dusted off the Zumba dvd.

I want to walk every day and dust off the zumba dvd.

Weigh everything, it's the only way to accurately measure calories. If your calories are still too low then add a calorie dense, nutritious snack such as almonds, avocado, oily fish etc., We're all a work in progress, any successful long term weight loss programme or lifestyle change is going to involve some revision along…

Yes it works but place more importance on your calorie intake and the quality of your calories.

I would join a walking thread.

1) I currently weigh 210lb. I want to lose between 10 and 14lbs over the next five weeks. 2) My inspiration is to feel fit and healthy again for me and my children. 3) My pitfalls have been poor health and lack of self esteem.

Feel free to add me. Presently, I eat between 35-40 net grams of carbohydrate a day and I experiment with new recipes quite often.

Oh I can relate to that! My new shiny bag of hemp protein is calling to me but I am making myself finish the yucky, overprocessed, oversweet Atkins shake powder just because I spent money on it.

Hi, I'm not following any particular diet but I seem to be naturally leaning towards the paleo lifestyle albeit in a veggie/pescatarian way at the moment. If you replaced your protein powder with organic hemp protein wouldn't that fit in with paleo rules? Amanda
