I keep an eye on my weekly calorie total so I can tell how many calories I'm 'banking' for a splurge. But I'm careful not to use up all of them at once...just some here and there.

I'm drawn to it because I tend to eat way too many carbs and processed food (frozen diet meals) and not enough protein. But getting enough calcium is problematic. I aim to follow it about 80-85% of the time allowing myself a few meals each week to enjoy bread and dairy.

I'm at 1200 calories a day also. I don't have a lot of free time for working out...have a full time job and I went back to grad school. Given the limited time I focus on cardio. It burns the most calories which increases my 1200 limit. I eventually want to add some weight/strength training but for now cardio is working…
