  • I have to be on the road at 6:30 to make it to work by 7. So, I get up about 3:45, at the gym about 4:10 (it's only about 4 blocks away), workout till about 5 then back home to shower and eat. It's the only way to get into the weight area. And there is something deliciously satisfying at having 5k steps by 8am.
  • If you go into the diary and click on the meal like you are going to log, there is an icon next to the bar code scanner. Its a GPS restaurant finder, find where you are going and click on it. It's possible the restaurant's menu & nutrition will be there.
  • It sounds like caffeine withdrawls. Can you increase your tea without the added sugar? I do enjoy the occasional English Breakfast, but my daily is Tazo Chai such a nice spice blend. I also really enjoy Tazo Zen and Refreshmint blends.
  • I agree with everyone else, you need to find your why but these boards are helpful. I've been at this for a while and I still struggle everyday. I've lost and gained back the same 20 pounds a few times now. I'm so frustrated with myself that I plan on sitting down this weekend and overhauling my profile with new goals and…
  • I meal prep on Sundays and it makes things so easy! The hardest part is my tiny apartment kitchen and 2 person bar top dining table. This coming week we'll have white chicken enchiladas with a healthy Mexican rice and char grilled chicken with a veggie pasta hotdish. My snacks tend to be hard boiled eggs, my hubby eats…
  • Shop the ads and cook in bulk! I made a pasta salad last Sunday and I still have a bit left for tomorrow. One box of pasta, home made vinaigrette dressing, and saute 1 of each cucumber-yellow squash-zucchini-grape tomatoes-broccoli-red onion-black olives-Italian seasoning. I may have missed an ingredient, but it makes a…
  • I found that if I change too much too fast I'll just stop everything and gain it all back again. So, I'm a fan of baby steps. Start with your beverages, like substituting one soda for an equal amount of water. The Mio water flavoring pouches helped me to kick soda for water and now I can drink plain water at almost any…
  • I don't have a solid plan, but I watch the grocery add. This past weekend I pick up a bone-in turkey breast for $1.79 a pound. I tossed that bad boy in my 6 quart crock pot with onions, seasonings and a bit of chicken broth. Cranked it up to high for 6 or 7 hours, and now I've got shredded turkey for the week. I only have…
  • I had migraines. I was on Topamax for 2 months. Not only did everything taste like oil, I still have tingling in my fingers when my hands get cold, it's been 11 years since I last took it. Oh, and it also left me with cirrhosis of the liver. I was never a big drinker but there I was at 22/23 getting a cirrhosis diagnosis…

  • Hey everybody, I'm Erin from Minnesota, USA. I'm needing to lose some weight for my health and my sister is getting married in November and my 15th high school reunion around the same time. I've been holding steady at 183 for several months, but I haven't been trying very hard either. SW: 187-ish CW: 183 GW: 125-ish
  • Aside for health reasons, my sister is getting married in November and my 15th high school reunion. Oh, and 2 of my ex's will be invited to the wedding. I've got to buckle down and get to work
  • Oh, ya sure don't cha know!
  • I've started walking laps around my living room in the evening when my shows are on. I do that for about an hour and depending on how fast I walk I can usually hit 10k before bed
  • I like seeing my data throughout the day/week/month. It has helped me realize how inactive I am at home. I will also add anyone who sends me a friend request, I love the challenges! I also love the seemingly random badge for hitting mile stones, like "you have walked xxx miles, it's the length of Italy/the Great Barrier…
  • I've got the Charge HR and have it on the same side as my medical ID bracelet. The Samsung watch is classy looking, but I don't want to be that attached/connected to my phone.
  • I'm a "super clotter" so Warfarin for life. My periods became 7 days of pure hell! Niagara Falls with the most intense cramps I've ever had! I also can only take Tylenol for pain control. I was seriously changing feminine products every 30-45 minutes, even having to set my alarm for same time frame for the over night…
  • So much hate!! My husband and I have no desire at all for kids. We don't hate them, but we certainly don't like them either. I have medical issues that make child bearing almost impossible, I'm also on blood thiners. Trust me, you don't want to know what that's lik! My GYN won't back a permanent solution because we are…
  • I'm starting over myself and I agree with everyone above. Frozen breakfasts are a life saver for me. Use the search function for some yummy oatmeal ideas, I haven't tried them. One of my favorite counter top appliances is a combo rice cooker/steamer/crockpot. Steaming veggies while it's cooking rice gives the rice a lovely…
  • As an apartment dweller, I would stick with walking /jogging in place or from one end to the other. My building is fairly quiet, but I'm sure a treadmill would be obnoxious, no matter the time of day. I have one neighbor who slams his door every single time he opens it (grocery day is a killer!) and it infuriates me no…
  • My in laws are split between Springfield and STL, I'm in Minneapolis. I could move to Springfield and be pretty happy, I think.
  • I love my Set it and Forget It Light cook book. I automatically add extra seasonings. There are some great meals in there!
  • I changed my target weight loss to .5 pound per week. Any more aggressive and I'm super cranky and hungry, even when eating back excerize calories. I try to keep my dinner to oven roasted or steamed chicken breast and a huge portion of mixed steamed veggies. (When I haven't fallen off the wagon) I also try to leave room…
  • There are some great suggestions above that I think I might even try to incorporate as well. One thing that has helped me is that if I bring a bag of chips/candy/junk food into the house, I try to immediately portion and repack it. I also look for substitutes, some days a clementine or two takes care of my sweet tooth and…
  • I'm a total home body and at the end of my work day I'm peopled out and need the quiet of home. I get the boredom eating, but for me it's mindless eating. If I'm catching up on a TV show, I want something to nibble on. If I'm setting up my grocery rewards card with coupons/deals/shopping list, I want something to nibble…
  • Good luck with it. I was put on it about 10 years ago for migraine control. In about 3 months I ended up with jaundice and cirrhosis of my liver. I was 22 at the time. I also experienced the numb finger tip side effect, I still can't let my hands get too cold otherwise I can't feel my finger tips. Moral of the story is…
  • I check the website first, then I'll Google it (sometimes works), then I look for something similar in the database. For example, Mondays are $5 for 3 tacos at Whole Foods. Since you build it to order there isn't nutritional info available, so I went straight to the database and I think I found something similar. I also…
  • I started today as well! I wasn't sure I'd make it to work once I sat down for breakfast. I even got a break half way through when my cat decided it was the perfect time to vomit on the carpet. I'm really looking forward to the results. I just really have to get my dinner under control, that's when I tend to blow past my…
  • My husband is the same way with his sleep cycle. It doesn't matter what time he gets up in the morning, he's awake till midnight or latter. So when he works out its at night. Sometimes in the afternoon, he works by the call so his days are never "normal". I can be the same way, until I consistently workout, then my sleep…
