KFC has healthy food and I eat it from time to time. Get the grilled chicken breasts (remove the skin as much as you can) and then get green beans and mashed potatoes (I get them without the gravy). The calorie count is low and the protein count is high, so it'll keep you full and satisfied! ;-)

Honestly, I quick moving music files from location to location. Just use Spotify or subscribe to Google Play Music All Access and you have all the music in the world at your fingertips, can create playlists, listen to custom radio stations, etc.

Green tea all day/everyday for me! I brew it both iced and hot. I don't love the taste of water, so I brew green tea and put pure 100% stevia in it (not the fake stuff). I like the Kirkland green tea from Costco. It's cheap and has matcha in it: http://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Matcha-Blend-Japanese-Tea-100/dp/B000WB1YSE

I hear ya there mane! If I didn't work from home I might do it that way... When I used to go to the office downtown I did the same thing. Working out and missing rush-hour is def a win/win!

For this reason alone is why I have to workout at home. If I took 2 hours out of the day to drive to the gym, find a parking spot, get to the locker, change, lift (and have to wait for equipment), cardio, shower, change, walk back to car, drive home, etc, my wife would chop my balls off and my kids would hate me! :-O

Home. I have a whole setup. I get up and get after it before I even eat (with the exception of C4 or some black coffee). No excuses. Then I pound my protein shake, creatine, etc. Sets the tone for the whole day.

Bottom line, even if you are a guy, you don't "accidentally" get ripped. It's VERY hard work to put on mass and bulk up, especially if you are a woman. Lifting weights will be a great compliment to your cardio. Attack from all angles; strength (lifting), endurance (cardio), and speed (sprints). You will see great results…

Ninja Master Prep without question (if you are purchasing it for protein shakes/smoothies). It has a large capacity. We have the bullet as well and it doesn't hold everything I need and the blender blade positioning on the Ninja is brilliant. Check the reviews on Amazon. Good price too!…

Agreed! I recently lost 65 lb and it's harder to burn as many calories, but man I can do cardio forever without breaking a sweat!

You should take blood pressure separately each morning. They key to the heart rate monitor is that you want to be in your target heart rate zone. You don't necessarily want a "higher heart rate" than hers, you just want to be in YOUR target heart rate zone. I typically target about 75% of my maximum (some prefer interval…

I've heard it all. This is just stupid. SMH

Protein powder is quick and easy, but Greek yogurt is bomb at roughly 140 cal and 24 g protein per serving (Costco brand). I'm obsessed with the stuff.

Thanks so much for all of your comments! ^ This one got me rolling! ^ :-) Now I can keep eating my delicious Fage Greek yogurt!

Try green iced tea (great antioxidants and other weight loss benefits) with Stevia for a sugar substitute. Stay away from Splenda and other non-natural sugar alternatives...
-
I am surprised no one on this forum has recommended the use of Stevia. It's a 100% natural sugar substitute with no GMO's.

Don't even think twice about seeing the ortho. It's the #1 thing you can do to get back on track. Other things such as stretching, etc. will help as well, but custom orthotics are critical. I went through the exact same thing.

The most accurate way to measure your heart rate/caloric burn is to use a heart rate monitor. The fitbit only counts steps at present and can be misleading and not even work on an elliptical trainer, for example. There is one coming out that is supposed to have a heart rate monitor built in. I will probably get one when it…

I think the main point of her article is that there is no quick and easy way to get healthy. You can't just take a pill or drink a slim fast and expect to be healthy the rest of your life. A healthy lifestyle requires hard work and good choices when it comes to what we put in our bodies. The occasional burger and pizza…
